Today we're going to take a look at the Kodiak 13 inch dacrament finish rotor. It has the eight on six and a half inch bolt pattern for 7200 pound to 8000 pound axles. This is a slip on over the hub rotor. It makes it very easy to convert an idler axle to disc brake axle. It is designed to fit over a standard idler hub and it's held in place by the wheel and the wheel bolts.This is a cast iron construction, which will ensure a favorable friction coefficient for necessary stopping power. This rotor has an acredact plating to it to provide superior corrosion resistance for fresh water or salt water use.It does have a 300 to 400 hour salt spray rating.
If you notice this rotor is a vented design, which will effectively dissipate the heat. It helps prevent any heat related damage.The nice thing about a slip on rotor is there's no need to replace your entire hub and rotor assembly, if only the hub or the rotor becomes damaged.Now the distance from hub face to hub face does increase by approximately half an inch. This part is made in the USA. The specs on it, the axle capacity it fits is 7200 - 8000 pound axles. The wheel size that will work on this is 16 and larger.
The bold pattern is an eight on 6 and a half inch bolt pattern.The overall diameter edge to edge is 13 inches. The inside diameter, inside to inside is nine inches and the bolt holt diameter on this rotor is 5/8 of an inch.That should do it for the review on the Kodiak 13 inch inaudible 00:01:26 finish rotor. Hard to beat this, unless you have the hub with a mounted rotor, you may have a less expensive replacement. Have not wore one out yet. Needed the replacement because of pad failure. My lack of maintenance. And these do require more maintenance than a car/truck. But these folks at etrailer are great at getting you the correct parts. They shipped an incorrect part to me, caught there mistake before it got to my shop, and had the new one on it way asap. Great service.

Boat trailer caliper was seized and causing the brakes to overheat. Headed over to etrailer.com since they seem to have the best part selection and easiest website to navigate.

These rotors replaced an identical set from the OEM on a WESCO dual axle trailer. Unfortunately, my brake pads disintegrated and scored the rotors after two years of salt water use, but these rotors seem like great quality and were very easy to replace. I used anti-seize for this job. Highly recommended, especially if you dip them in salt water at all.
