Fits as needed for installing a trailer brake on a 2013 Yukon

by:

Well, it's a nut. Not much that can go wrong. Used this on my GMT400 Yukon. (1996 Yukon) for the AUX post in the fuse box for installing my trailer brake controller and to get AUX power for the trailer plug.

by:

The item that arrived did NOT fit the stud in my engine compartment for the factory wiring for brake controller on my 2013 GMC Yukon- the nut that arrived was about three times larger than needed- I called to report this, spoke with Ashley and there was no answer how to get the correct nut needed

  • How to Get 12 Volt Power For Installation of a Prodigy Brake Controller on a 2011 GMC Yukon Denali
The wiring to power the brake controller on your 2011 GMC Yukon Denali is under the hood on the driver side next to the fender well. Remove the cover for the power distribution box and you will find the wire taped to a harness between the fender well and power distribution box. We have an FAQ article that details this, see link, and I added a photo that I took of the wire locations on a GM pickup. You may also have to connect the 12 volt power wire for your 7-Way trailer connector. Our...

To activate the power connection at the trailer connector on your 2009 Chevrolet Suburban, you will need to locate the battery charge wire under the hood. This wire is located under the master cylinder brake booster assembly and is taped up. Once located connect the ring terminal to the smaller power stud at the front of the power distribution box under the hood, with an M6 nut, # 185916. I have linked a photo that shows the location of this wire and the attachment point for you. If you...

  • Which Nuts Needed to Complete Brake Controller Connections At Fuse Box on 2007 GMC Sierra New Body
There are two threaded studs on the front of the power distribution box (closest to the front bumper) that will need to have the 12-V feed to the trailer connector and the power feed to the brake controller connected if they aren't already. As you've likely found, GM decided to save the $ 0.25 it would have cost them to supply the nuts needed to secure the wires to the studs. Both studs are different sizes, you'll need a M6-1.0 nut which we carry as part # 185916 and an M8-1.25 nut which...
