Today we're going to be taking a look at the Brophy Safety Chain Mounting Bracket. This mounting bracket welds securely to your trailer, and then it's going to provide an anchor point for your safety chain. It's made from a durable steel construction, it is unfinished so it's ready for welding, and you can paint it to match your trailer. We're going to take a look at some of the dimensions real quick, starting with the overall length, that's going to give us a measurement of about 4" long. The diameter of the unit's going to measure 3/8" in diameter. Taking a look at the opening, measuring from this curve here to the same point on the other side, that's going to give us a measurement of about 1-1/8", and if we take a measurement of the height of the opening, I'm just going to place a straight edge here along the bottom side and then we'll measure the gap that we have right there.
We can see that that's going to measure right on about 3/4". Again, the product is made in the USA and it has that nice steel construction with the raw finish. That's going to do it for today's look at the Brophy Safety Chain Mounting Bracket.

I want to thank you for all your help with my trailer you were more helpful than you realize. So this is my trailer for a 22' Flats Cat shallow draft Catamaran. I totally dismantled my trailer and buffed by hand with a wire buffer and sand blasted in some spots and applied multiple coats of some very expensive galvanize paint (Z.R.C.). I installed all new C. E. Smith Carpet (about 80'), seven new LED waterproof lights, new springs, new equalizers, new tongue jack, new wench, new safety chain, new chain brackets, all new SS hardware and a 35' long wiring harness.
I was able to send only one review with a picture of the safety chain and brackets. I'm having a little trouble with the rest..oh some of these items were bought locally or from your competitors, until I found ETRAILER. Your prices were cheaper for the exact same things. The safety chain bracket was exactly what I expected. My gooseneck trailer had only one safety chain when I purchased it used, and the safety chain links had been welded to the trailer. I sought out something to replace it with knowing that having only 1 safety chain was potentially not legal and that welding the chain links weakens them. I ended up ordering 2 of these brackets and 2 safety chains (FCHA0050324) from etrailer and they worked well together. The bracket is round so I ground a flat spot on it where it meets the trailer to make it easier to keep in position while welding it.
I had previously purchased the Atwood coupler #AT80072, but it didn’t seem to go far enough back on the a-frame and I didn’t feel comfortable with that. This Demco model is nearly identical in size to the old Hadco engineering coupler that came on my 1964 trailer. I thought that this 10000 lb coupler would be overkill, but I’m happy that it will weld on exactly like the original.
Excellent customer service! Original order was delivered with nothing in it. Parts had somehow come out in shipping. Etrailer replaced the parts and upgraded the shipping at no charge. Will definitely do business with them again. The product is well made and perfect for connecting safety chains to any trailer.
