Safety Chain Weights Between Buyers Products Chains and Tow Ready
Question:
Hi, I am looking at safety chains. I t looks like what I have now is 30 inches long with ¼ inch links and 5000 pounds and a 7/16 inch hook. I see you have something similar TCTSCG30-730-04x1 I was thinking of getting something a little stronger, such as item # 337B03835SC or 337BSC3835 . Two questions. One, I need to fit a bolt in a link to attach the chain to the trailer. I assume that the 3/8 inch link hole is larger than the ¼ inch link but I need to know for sure. Second, what is the weight difference of the 3 different chains. Thanks,

Expert Reply:
The Buyers Products Chains part numbers # 337BSC3835 and # 337B03835SC both weigh 5 lbs and the part # TCTSCG30-730-04X1 weighs 2 lbs.
For installing any of the mentioned chains we recommend using the weld on bracket # MB38 with the quick link part # C82932 on your trailer.
