Safety Chain, Quick Link and Chain Mount Recommendation for XLR Hyperlite Toy Hauler
Question:
My XLR Hyperlite toyhauler tag trailer - 9.9K# GVWR has a single loop welded at the forward tip of the A frame and it interfers with the Andersen hitch and with any hitch it doesnt allow crossing of the chains to provide that cradle like Forest River built it. See photo attached. I want to redo this and use a pair of Brophy MB38 brackets, #49135 quick link if it is strong enough and #49150 chains. How far back from the tongue should the brackets be welded on and is the bracket and quick link rated high enough? Im sure the chains I mentioned using are adequate.

The parts you all mentioned would have enough capacity for the weight of your 9.9k toy hauler. The part # MB38 would work well for mounting the safety chains # 49150 with the quick link # C82932.
Now where the part # MB38 should install on your trailer is going to be dependent on your trailer setup. I would put it on the trailer frame as near to the coupler as you can but you really should mock it up in a couple places to find where it would fit the best.
