Welding Safety Chain Mounting Brackets to Trailer for Coiled Safety Cables

Question:

I want to replace the chains on my camp trailer with the coiled cables. Do I need 2 mounting brackets? one for each chain or with both chains fit on one bracket. Also could I not slip the cable onto the bracket before welding it or do I need the chain links?

When using the Brophy Safety Chain Mounting Bracket # MB38 that you referenced, you will want to weld one to the trailer for each safety chain, for a total of two for the two chains. The bracket itself measures 4 inches long and 3/8 inch in diameter.

These will work very nicely with the Curt Single Hook Coiled Safety Cables # C80176 that you mentioned and Quick Links like the Curt # C82932.
