Replacing Safety Chain Loops on Trailer That Broke Off
Question:
Hello, Our 2018 Grand Design Reflection 312BHTS had the safety chain attachment loop on the tongue break off. What are some alternatives to attach safety chains to the trailer tongue? Im not too experienced in attaching parts to the trailer frames, so I will probably seek professional help if it has to be welded... Thank you! Happy new year!

Happy new year to you as well!
The best way to replace (or add new) safety chain loops to your trailer frame is to simply have new ones like the Brophy # MB38 welded on. There's really not another good method for doing this that will ensure safe operation in the event of a breakaway situation.
You can then add some Quick Links like # C82932 (if you don't already have them) to the loops that will hook up to your safety chains.
I have attached a short video review on the Safety Chain Mounting Brackets below that you can also check out.

Won't welding the chains on weaken the metal?
