Today in this boat trailer we're going to show you part number T1878700. This is a Titan Uni-Servo Hydraulic Trailer Brake assembly. All right, this is our brake assembly. This is going to be installed on the right-hand side, or passenger side. A few quick measurements, the pad here is two and a quarter inches, designed to fit a ten-inch rim, which is typically found on 35-hundred pound axles. It's got a protective finish on the vacuum plate itself. It's a simple, single-serve brake.
Doesn't have any auto adjustment, it's a manual adjust, but pretty easy to install. First off, we need to go ahead and remove the original backing plate. All right, we've got our hub already off the axle. How they're bolted on could be a few different ways. In this case, we have bolts running from the inside to the outside here.
Sometimes, they'll be simple studs. In this case, we'll need a socket and a wrench and a back-side removal. We also need to unscrew the brake line as well. Let's do that first. Once we have it loosened up, we'll actually use a piece of old rubber tubing to slide over the end and help keep the fluid from running out all over the place. We just need to run a tube up higher than the hydraulic coupler.
Okay, with our rubber line keeping the fluid in place, we'll go ahead and loosen up our bolts that are holding the backing plate. Put a wrench in the backside and we'll go ahead and undo the nut on the inside. All right, make sure your axle flange is clean. Then we'll go ahead and put our new assembly in place. As long as your existing hardware is okay, we'll go ahead and reinstall it. Okay, now we'll go ahead and reinstall the brake line into the cylinder on the other side.
Go ahead and pull out the little red protective plug. Well go ahead and put our line back in place. This may vary from trailer to trailer, but we happen to be using a 3/8 line wrench. You can see how the wrench wraps around the nut a little bit more than normal, that's what works the best in these fittings. Unless we stop at the bottom of the threads, we'll give it just a little bit of snug push so it naturally wants to stop at the end. We should be good to go. Okay With that, our backing plate for the passenger side, or right-hand side, is installed. Now let's go and repeat the same process over on the driver's side, or the left-hand side, with a different part number. Now, the part number for the left-hand side will be T1878800. Once we have both sides installed we'll go ahead to take a few moments to go ahead and bleed the brake. That will be this valve on the top. All we've got to do is remove the cap and go ahead and loosen it up and then we'll go ahead and let it bleed out. All right, the valve on top uses a metric wrench. Ten millimeter works the best. We just loosen up like a bolt and that will let the fluid come out so you can bleed the brakes to the cylinder. When we're done, just go ahead and tighten it back up. Okay, now were finished for Titan Uni-Servo hydraulic trailer brake assembly for the right-hand side, part number T1878700, and also the Titan Uni-Servo hydraulic trailer brake assembly for the left-hand side, part number T1878800. .

This was a name brand Titan product from etrailer that worked very well (as expected). The video and printed installation instructions were VERY helpful. The price was extremely attractive compared to brick and mortar as well as other on-line stores. The tracking system offered for following the item from start to delivery is the best I have experienced. Even the packing and packaging was top rated. I wish that all on-line stores were as efficient and price friendly as etrailer is. Thanks etrailer - I will be back in the future.

I have one suggestion to the shipping dept. at trailer:
DON'T put small items in the same craft paper that is used to fill voids in the shipping box. When I opened my box I pulled out the big bunch of craft paper and set it aside to pitch. I pulled out the bigger brake parts and then realized that i was missing two smaller items. At first I thought maybe they were back ordered. I checked the shipping paper and they were to be in this box. After going thru the craft paper I was going to pitch I found them inside. Close Call!!!
Put the small items in a small box or envelope.

my product was awhsome... the price was excelent,,I have boat ,my trailer needed braks,, so I removed the brake drums and oh my goodness it was a mess,rusty springs .and a total mess, so I quickly decided to buy the hole brake assembly from etrailer,,shiping was great,,,I highly recommend etrailer.com for all your brake accesories...

Just received my brake assembly for my boat trailer. Went to install both of them this afternoon when I noticed there were no mounting bolts pressed into the back of the plate. All other sets I have purchased in the past had the bolts pre-pressed when shipped. Went to my local hardware store and purchased some bolts and nuts and got them mounted. I'm just getting ready to give the trailer a test drive to check them out. We'll see how they work.

Would be an excellent rating but for the bleeder is metric. I swapped it out with the old one so no big.
It would be good to mention somewhere on the site that you need to keep the four mounting bolts, lock washers and nuts from your old assembly or supply 4 new ones. My old ones were pressed on to the backing plate and I had to knock them out and adapt to the new plate. Some tools required for that. Someone that didn't know better could end up throwing them out with the old unit.

Easy it identify part. Received assembly quickly after order was placed. This is an entire assembly with backing plate, as pictured, for the price of just the shoes. Installed easily and worked great. I installed this on a boat trailer.
