Recommended Electric Trailer Brakes for 1900-lb Lippert Axle with 4-Bolt Brake Flanges
Question:
I have a 1900# axle manufactured by Lippert Components Inc that has a 5 hole 4.25inch bolt spacing 13inch wheels with a square brake flange with 3inch square hole to hole. Any chance you can help me spec electric brakes?

We can help you select suitable electric brake assemblies to match your trailer.
The features you need to match up are the axle capacity, brake flange type and the width and diameter of your existing hub/drum assemblies. You also need to be sure to choose both left- and right-handed brakes. The linked article on electric drum brakes will be helpful.
Electric brakes for a 2000-lb-rated axle are 7-inch diameter with either a 1-1/4-inch or 1-3/4-inch drum width. All brakes shown on the linked page use a 4-bolt mounting scheme.
Mounting hardware is not included with the brakes so you'll need also nuts # 6-17 and lock washers # 5-8 to install them.
Electric trailer brakes require a brake controller like the popular Prodigy P2 # 90885 proportional controller to activate them when you slow the tow vehicle. The linked article explains the two types of controllers available, time-delayed and proportional, and the benefits of each type. In your RAV4 controller installation will require a brake controller install kit # ETBC7 and the vehicle will need to already have a 4-pole trailer harness such as # C56165 from Curt.
