Do I Need Additional Bronze Bushings With The Dexter Suspension Kit?
Question:
I have a 2000 Ranger Tandem Axel trailer that I am needing to replace shackles on. I plan on doing the bolts, bushings, and equalizers as well. I was looking at ordering this product, but the product description says it comes with 8 bushings. Shouldnt it come with 12 bushings? 8 for the shackles straps/equalizers, and 4 for the other end of the leaf springs? Or do I need to order an additional 8 bushings as well?

Helpful Expert Reply:
The Dexter Heavy-Duty Suspension Kit # K71-449-00 comes with 8 bushings for the 4 leaf springs. The included equalizers will already have bushings pressed in.
You might also consider upgrading to the Dexter E-Z Flex Suspension Kit # K71-653-00 with the cushioned equalizers. These will help to absorb the road shock and minimize chucking when towing.
I recommend using the LubriMatic LMX Industrial Strength Grease # L11390 with a Grease Gun # L30416. This grease is specifically formulated to work well under extreme pressure in both hot and cold climates.
