Video Transcript for Americana Tire Inflation and Repair - Valve Stems - AM20904 Review

Today we're going to review part number AM20904. This is a high pressure rubber snap-in valve stem. it has a maximum inflation pressure of 80 psi and it has an effective length of 1 1/2" long. These tubeless snap-in valves for high pressure applications are designed for medium and heavy duty trucks and trailers. These valves must be used when a recommended cold inflation pressure on the tire exceeds 65 psi. These high pressure snap-in valve stems for wheels with the .453 rim hole, which is what this valve stem would fit in to, allows a maximum cold inflation pressure of 80 psi. These are typically used in steel wheels.

High pressure snap-in valve stems will combine a thicker rubber snap-in base right here with the metal barrel and has the plastic cap. Again I mentioned the effective length on this is 1 1/2" and that's actually measured once it's installed in the wheel so the effective length is actually going to be measured from where it comes through the wheel to the top of the cap. If we put a ruler on this, it'd be a good idea, you can see the inch and a half effective length. That should do it for the review of part number AM20904, the high pressure rubber snap-in valve stem with the maximum 100 psi inflation and the 1 1/2" effective length. .

They work as advertised. Thanks for the follow up

by:

First of all, I want to say that eTrailer is an awesome bunch of people to work with. They know their stuff, have great products and excellent instructional video's. I ordered new rims and complete brake assemblies and they were perfect. The shipping was extremely fast, the fit and function was exact and the brake assembly was as easy as the video made it out to be. Thank you VERY much for your help, great prices and excellent customer service. I am a customer for life! Thank you!

by:

Bought these valve stems to go along with the wheels purchased. Paired with D range tires and inflation pressure at 65 psi, these valve stems have performed nicely and not a single problem. I would not hesitate to buy these again.

by:

Thanks eTrailer and Suzanne T. for great service and a good product. Order was placed on a Friday and received shipment the following Tuesday.
My order was for Dexstar wheels AM20522, center caps 319EZ-SS, and valve stems AM20904.
The only reason I did not give an excellent rating was because of minor paint blems and knicks on the face of the wheels. Nothing major at all.
The ole trailer looks good with fresh wheels, tires, center caps, and valve stems.

by:

eTrailer does what they say they will do. good products, prices and prompt delivery. As an ASE certified mechanic I highly recommend them. Most folks do some sort of preventative maintenance on their vehicles but trailers, tow behind trailers and RV's don't usually get maintenance until something fails. I call this reactive maintenance rather than pro active preventative maintenance. Tires, wheel bearings and electrical systems are highly neglected until a failure occurs.

by:

Use these in my Ranger boat trailer tires, which are set at 50psi. Solidly made and I keep a few spares just in case, but have never had to replace a stem that I have purchase from etrailer.

by:

The wheels arrived double boxed with internal rim protectors and were in perfect condition. The finish and detail are excellent with no blemishes on the outer surfaces that you see once the rim is mounted. Shipping was fast and ordering very easy. I had some questions on the product and Patrick O. helped me with them. Patrick and etrailer made this process very easy. This is my second purchase from etrailer and I am very satisfied with both experiences. Thanks.

by:

These valve stems to appear to be high quality looking. They fit perfectly, and are rated to 80psi. One did not make it in the shipment. The peps at E-trailer immediately sent another one. The ups to usps was not that good; it took over 5 business day to get it.

by:

Customer service was excellent. Ordered the wheel over the July 4th holiday and received it in 3 days. Shipping was upgraded from 5 day to 3 day delivery with no cost to me. Wheel fit perfectly and now I am good to go with a spare tire for my trailer.

by:

The wheels and lugs came just as advertised and are looking great on my trailer. They are timely and shipped quickly. You can't go wrong with these guys.

by:

They seem to have popped right into the steel trailer wheels I bought, and appears to be holding air. Only time will tell!

by:

Quick shipping and product as described. Make sure to check that you have the correct PSI valve stem when you buy trailer tires.

Have your trailer tires balanced it makes a difference.

by:

No problems and I do run 80 psi.

  • Replacement 4.80-12 Sized Tires for Malone MircroSport Trailer
We actually carry the spare tire that fits the Malone MicroSport Trailer # MPG460G. The spare is # MPG465 and does have a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern. With that being said it would be more cost effective for you to purchase two 4.80-12 trailer tires, like # TTWSF48012C, and have them mounted to the existing rims. If you need valve stems, # AM20904 will handle the 80 psi needed for these tires. I recommend these Taskmasters because they have an 81 mph speed rating, which is higher than a...

For a 6 inch wide wheel, you could use the Americana # AM20354 galvanized 8-spoke wheel. The wheels don't include the valve stems. For the Americana # AM20354, use the # AM20903 valve stem, or for the Dexstar # AM20364, use the # AM20904 valve stem. I'll link you to our Trailer Tire FAQ article, which...

  • How to Determine the Weight Rating of a Wheel for Load Range G Tires
A common misconception about tires and wheels is that they have seperate weight ratings. Although some wheels may have a "weight rating", they are really rated for whatever size tire fits on them. The weight rating of a wheel is actually tied to the type of valve stem it has. If the valve stem is rated for a lower psi rating then the "weight rating" of the wheel will be lower. For example; The valve stem part # AM20904 is rated for psi up to 80 while the part # AM20906 has a psi rating...

  • Can Boat Trailer Upgrade From 205/75R15 to 225/75R15 Tires
Yes, so long as you have the needed clearance, you can certainly upgrade the tires on your boat trailer from 205/75R15 to 225/75R15. The 225/75R15 tires will add just over 1/2 inch to the top of the tire, and be about 1/4 inch closer to the frame (you want at about 3" of clearance from the top of the tire to your fender and at least 1" of clearance between the inside of the tire and your trailer's frame rail). You are correct that you'll need new wheels as well since 225/75-15 tires fit...

  • Does The Lionshead Liger Trailer Wheel LH34FR Have A Maximum Air Pressure Rating?
The Lionshead Aluminum Liger Trailer Wheel # LH34FR does have an 1,820 pound load limit, but it will not really carry a max pressure as it will always be more than any tire that can be installed on it. I will say that you are limited to 65 psi due to the valve stem that comes included, so something like the Westlake ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range D # LHWL300 would match this perfectly.
