Benefits Of Using A Class III Hitch For A 2014 Honda CR-V
Question:
Why do you recommend a Class III Hitch for this car when the maximum Trailer Weight Limit is 1500 lbs? Shouldnt the hitch be a Class I?
asked by: Steve S
Expert Reply:
The main reason you would use a class III hitch like the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75742 you referenced is because, the 2" x 2" receiver opening featured on a class III hitch is the most common size for hitch mounted accessories like the Thule T2 Pro XTR Bike Rack # TH83JV, and will give you more options versus a class I hitch.
However, you can still absolutely use a class I hitch like the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11555.
