Placing Boat Bunks for Maximum Contact with Boat with a Ribbed Hull
Question:
I have a Klamath 16 foot aluminium boat , the bottom has ribs that are 5/8 -3/4 of inch high with a distance 3 1/4 foot between the ribs . a flat area of 3 1/4 foot there are vertical bunks on there now. I would like to replace them with part # Dl21755 since they measure 3 5/8 wide will they conform to the bottom of the boat ? One roller would be flat on the bottom of the boat while the other would be angled by the rib as the complete width of the rolls are 3 5/8 will not fit totally on the bottom of boat together?

Expert Reply:
The Roller Bunk # DL21755 measures 3-1/2 inches across the wheels where your boat will be sitting. Also, the wheels pivot to help make contact with the bottom of the boat.
Since you currently have vertical bunks you'll need the brackets # DL21762 to connect the bunks to your trailer. This will give you the option of adjusting the height and placement of the bunks which means you can decide where on your boat the wheels will make contact with the boat to put them in the best suitable location. There still may be some sets of wheels that do not make full contact with the boat but with some testing you should be able to maximize the contact.
You'll need at least four brackets per set of bunks.
