Provider Radials with Automotive-Grade Tread

Provider Tread Vs Standard Tread

Unlike standard trailer tire tread, which has solid, continuous ribs, the automotive-grade tread on these Provider radials has ribs with breaks. These breaks allow water to run off to the sides. The Provider tread also has sipes. Siping is a process in which thin grooves (or sipes) are cut into the rubber of the tire. The grooves channel water away from the tread so that the tire makes better contact with the road. Both of these features greatly improve traction during wet, snowy, or icy conditions.

Provider radials are constructed with double polyester cords and double steel belts for increased durability and endurance. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation. Provider radials are bake tested - a process usually reserved for automotive tires - to ensure that the rubber holds up over time.

Radial Tires vs. Bias Tires

Radial tire vs bias tire graphic

Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.

I am very pleased with the Provider ST225/75R15 radial tires purchased from etrailer. They were ordered on 1/7/19 and amazingly delivered on 1/8/19. I just had the bearings repacked and the tires mounted on my 2017 Venture Sonic Lite. The ride is extremely smooth. I am looking forward to getting out on the highway for the first trip of the year! Thanks, etrailer, for selling quality tires at a great price!

Throughout the first year of traveling with the Provider ST22575R15 mounted on my travel trailer, I have been impressed with the performance of the tires in wet or dry road conditions and the lack of tread wear. When the time finally comes to get new tires, I will once again purchase the Providers.

Great tires for my dump trailer

by:

I thought the tires were as advertised and had no problem with delivery or
quality. These are used on my sixteen foot utility trailer hauling loads of hay, about
6,000 lbs No problems. Installed them on the wheels myself with my hand tire changer. Worked great..

Thank you,

Ken

ALWAYS FAST SERVICE

by:

I have purchased four of the TTWTRTM2257515D and really like the looks of the tires. The employees are super and I will continue to do business with them. These tires that i purchased replaced cracked tires that was on my RV.

by:

Excellent and fast service best product and speedy delivery best agent ever which is Sherry which really knows her job. Always good job!! thanks

by:

We put 4 taskmaster tires on a tandem trailer and they have been very good. They are of good quality and wear evenly. The white spoke wheels we purchased worked well with the new tires Thanks

by:

Speedy service from etrailer is standard. The tires arrived boxed & in perfect condition.
The super service is more than you can ask for, last year I had a blowout on the road and would be passing buy etrailer on Sunday. I was met at the door with a spare tire.
That's why I buy here.
The tires look good on, but not trailered yet.

by:

GREAT TIRES, ARRIVED IN PERFECT CONDITION WITHIN A WEEK, FREE SHIPPING, GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE.

by:

I have purchased several products from Etrailer in the past & found their products and service to be very good. I recently ripped a sidewall on one of my dump trailer tires running over something at our local landfill. I found an EXACT replacement tire at Etrailer for a good price, free shipping, & fast delivery. I expect this tire to perform as well as the original tires that came with my dump trailer (in service 4 years, no problems) as it is an exact match.

by:

Bought because of the previous reviews. Fast shipping of the tires. I just had the tires mounted and balanced but haven't used the 5th wheel yet. Tires look great with a nice tread pattern. Time will tell.

by:

After one year and about 8,000 miles, I've been very happy with these tires on my travel trailer. They have a higher speed and load rating than the Goodyear Marathons that I had before and these seem to ride quite smoothly.

by:

NOTE: Be sure to check the tire speed ratings!
I
was about to order a cheaper tire and happened to notice that it had a lower speed rating. Ordered these for our single Axle Malibu boat trailer and they seem to be working great. Excellent service from etrailer too! Thanks!

by:

Tire arrived in good order.

by:

Great tires, I tow my trailer a lot and after one year of driving on this tires, they still look almost new. I will buy them again for sure.

I'm very happy with the tires ans also with etrailer for the great customer service.

Trailer Tires appear to be a good product at the right price (etrailer's price pledge was very helpful in keeping me from purchasing from the local big box store). Delivered in a timely fashion allowing me to get the trailer back on the road in no time. Expect these will last a good long time

by:

Really glad to get my new set of trailer tires today. As always my order was shipped quickly and accurately. I always appreciate your how to videos. Came in handy when I replaced the wheel bearings.

by:

Like for like replacement tires on my trailer! My current set of tires have been all over the south east and have been a great set. Tire wear is minimal and good traction in all weather conditions. Etrailer provided a reasonable price, easy ordering and super fast shipping! I would definitely buy from them again! I Highly recommend both the tires and Etrailer!

by:

Ordered trailer tires on line process was simple and they arrived sooner than expected. I also saved quite a bit of money. Great doing business with etrailer would recommend them to any one looking for tires.

  • Largest Tire Available for 15 Inch Wheel
The largest tire we offer that will fit on a 15" trailer wheel is a 225/75-15 which measures 28.4" diameter x 8.9" wide so you will need to make sure you have room(4"-6" from top of tire to bottom of fender). The best option we have for this size is the Karrier Radial Trailer Tire part # AM10303 which has a load range E (2,830 lbs) and speed rating M (81mph). The next best option we have in this size is the Provider Radial Trailer Tire part # TTWTRTM2257515D which has a load range D (2,540...

  • Recommended 15 Inch Travel Trailer Tires With D Or E Load Rating
The biggest possible issue with moving to 16 inch wheels is the bolt pattern. The 16 inch wheels would move you to a 6 on 5-1/2 inch bolt pattern. Even though you may have clearance this would then move you into a different hub. I recommend you go to the Provider ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range D # TTWTRTM2257515D which will move your overall diameter to 28.31 inches. These tires are rated for 2540 at 65 psi and have a speed rating of up to 81 mph. This will move you...

  • ST Rated Tire Recommendation to Replace P235/75R15 on Trailer
P series tires should NOT ever be used on a trailer. They are not rated for the vertical load that trailers like your fifth wheel will see. You need to replace your tires with ST rated tires. The closest ST tire size is the ST225/75R15. Which for a wheel and tire in that size with a 6-lug pattern you would want the part # TA57VR for a spare. For just the tires of this setup you would want the part # TTWTRTM2257515D.

  • Can Passenger Vehicle Tires Be Used in Place of 225/75R15 Tires
We can not ever safely recommend using passenger tires on a trailer. They are not rated for the vertical load that trailers see. If there is any way you can save up till you can afford to use all trailer tires it will be the way to go. In the tire size of 225/75R15 we have the part # TTWTRTM2257515D which is pretty cost effective and would also potentially save you money in the long run in the event of passenger tires failing on your trailer and causing damage!

  • Where is Speed Rating for Trailer Tires ST185/80-13
If you check the sidewall of your tire there should be a speed rating after the tire size. If you can't find anything though I would go with what used to be the standard for trailer tires which is 65 mph. Most current tires are now higher though and are 75 and 81 mph.

  • Recommended Replacement Wheel and Tire for a H78-15 Tire
Good morning! The modern equivalent of the H78-15 tires are 225/75R15. The item # AM32424 you were looking at are a ST205/75R15 so they would be a little smaller. These will work they are just going to be 1.2" shorter in diameter and 0.8" more narrow. This is a load range D tire with a maximum capacity of 2,150 lbs per tire at 65 psi. I recommend going with the Taskmaster Provider, part # TTWTRTM2257515D, that's rated for 2,540 pounds at 65 psi with an 81 mph speed rating. This will fit your rims and has the weight capacity you need. If you'd rather go up in weight capacity a bit there's also part # TR225LRE which is rated for 2,830 pounds at 80 psi. BUt you...

  • If You Upgrade Trailer Tire Load Ranges Should You Increase PSI
Trailers tires, regardless of load or application will need to be filled to the max psi listed on the sidewall while cold. This is to ensure the correct temperature remains inside the tire as well as the correct wear pattern. If you upgrade tire load ranges then this can sometimes lead to a harsher ride so your first thought is to reduce pressure but this will unfortunately create issues with temperature and wear. This is the reason that you really shouldn't upgrade load ranges unless absolutely...

Most likely yes, but you will need to consider the addition height of the larger tire size to know for certain if your trailer can accommodate the larger tire. The height difference between the two sized you mentioned is 1.3 inches total. That means you will lose about 5/8 of an inch of fender well clearance since only half of that additional distance will be above the center of the wheel. Chances are you will be fine, but you will want make sure you have at least 3 inches when it is all...

  • Can Size 225/75-15 Load Range D Trailer Tires be Replaced with Load Range E Tires
There's no harm in putting tires with a higher load range on your trailer when replacing them. With that being said there's no gain either. At least not from the load range. The tires technically have a higher capacity but that isn't going to increase the capacity of your trailer because you're still limited by whatever component has the lowest rating. As long as you still keep the trailer within its capabilites the higher rated tires will work just fine for you. I'm guessing your...
