Recommended Replacement Tires For Fifth Wheel Trailer

Question:

I have tried to do as much reading about tire replacement as I can. I am still confused about: American vs China, needed plys, and weight compacity. I have ST225/75R 15 tires on our 5th wheel. Because they were made in 2010 and 2011, we are thinking of replacing them this summer. I a wondering what tire you would recommend and how do we make sure that they are new tires-made as recently as possible. I am looking for the best tires that I can purchase.

We sell a lot of trailer tires, so they are not here for a long time.

Most of the tires we have in stock in the more popular sizes will have DOT date stamps within the previous year or two. The ST225/75R-15 is a very popular size, we sell through our shipments quickly.

Depending on the load range you need, the tire I recommend for you is part # TTWTRTM2257515D for a Load Range D tire. This is an 8 ply tire with a maximum load rating of 2,540 lbs at 65 psi.

I also recommend part # AM10303 for a tire that has a Load Range E rating. This is a 10-ply tire and has a maximum load capacity of 2,830 lbs at 80 psi. to get the best performance out of a tire you should always inflate your tires when they are cold. Trailer tires should be inflated to their maximum air pressure.

We store our tires in our warehouse so they are not subjected to the weather which can cause tires to break down over time.
