Sensor adheres to the outside of your RV's holding tank to measure its fluid levels, and it sends those readings to a SeeLeveL monitor (sold separately) inside your RV. Can be cut or stacked to fit the height of your tank.

Features:

  • Sensor measures how much fluid is in your RV's holding tank
    • Hardwires to SeeLeveL holding tank monitor (sold separately)
  • Updates reading with every 1/4" change in your tank level
  • Mounts to the outside of the tank rather than using an interior probe
    • Prevents false readings caused by accumulating debris
  • Coated with flexible epoxy layer to protect circuitry
  • Can be trimmed every 1" for shorter tanks
    • Stack a second sensor (sold separately) for taller tanks
  • Installs easily - clean tank surface, remove backing, and stick to side of holding tank
    • Tabs on top of sensor are trimmed to indicate which tank it is on
    • Bus wiring lets all sensors splice together to one line
    • Existing wiring from your old tank monitor system can be used

Specs:

  • Application: 1 sensor can accommodate 3-1/2" - 10-1/2" tall tanks
    • Stack additional sensor to accommodate tanks up to 19-1/2" tall tanks
  • Dimensions: 2-3/8" wide x 9" tall
  • Resolution: 1/4"
  • Operating temperature: 32 F - 140 F
  • 1 Year warranty

Notes:

  • SeeLeveL tank monitoring systems are not compatible with metal tanks.

Advanced RV Tank Monitoring

Traditional tank monitors have a reputation for being unreliable. With probes mounted inside, they get gunked up and send false readings. When you have only a handful of them, they only measure in quarter increments at best. When you're keeping an eye on how much fresh water you have, the difference between 25% full and empty means a lot, and that inaccuracy can be a problem.

The SeeLeveL tank monitoring system uses technology that can sense fluid levels from the outside of the tank. The sensors' flexible circuit board sticks in place and measures along its entire height. This makes it accurate in single-digit increments.

This sensor has a resolution of 1/4". This means, for example, if the water level in your fresh-water tank drops by 1/4", the monitor will update its reading. If you're used to using probe sensors, just imagine having one of those installed every 1/4" on the side of your tank. That's how accurate it will be using this system.

Easy Install

If you're comfortable with basic wiring, installing the SeeLeveL monitoring system should be a straightforward DIY project.

A single 9" sensor can measure a tank as tall as 10-1/2". For a shorter tank, the sensor can be trimmed. If your tank is taller than 10-1/2", use a taller sensor or stack 2 sensors. This table will tell you which sensor setup is recommended based on tank height:

Sensor Options
Tank Height Best Sensor Option
3-1/2" - 10-1/2" Single 9"
10-1/2" - 14" Single 12"
14" - 19-1/2" 2 stacked 9"
19-1/2" - 26" 2 stacked 12""
Part numbers: Part numbers: 9" (SE78VR), 12" (SE88VR)

To get the best resolution for the highest accuracy, choose the right setup. The segments along the left side of the sensor have 4 read points each. The more of those segments you have, the better the accuracy. Even with the lowest resolution possible, you will get tank readings accurate within single digit percentages.

Cutting Sensor Tabs For Installation

You don't need to be a computer genius to install the sensors either. The sensors are programmed by using scissors to trim the tabs at the top. By altering the circuits, the sensor can tell the display exactly where it is. The included instruction manual will tell you how to trim the tabs during installation. Be very careful when trimming these tabs. The process is not reversible and incorrect installation isn't covered by warranty.

Once you've got your sensors selected and prepped by cutting the tabs, you're ready to install. You're going to want to make sure you thoroughly clean the sides of the tank first. Then, temporarily tape them down. Splice together all signal wires and all ground wires from the sensors, and run those two wires through your RV to the monitor inside. If you're replacing an old tank monitoring system, the existing wiring can be used. Now, run tests to make sure the system works properly. If that all looks good, the sensors are attached to the tanks with the 3M adhesive backing.

Reads up to 7 Tanks

This sensor is the new-and-improved design that is fully compatible with 709 Series tank monitors for measuring as many as 4 tanks. If you've purchased a SeeLeveL monitor for reading your fresh, gray, black, and galley tanks, this sensor will give you the same performance or better, depending on your setup.

This design was also made to read up to 7 tanks with the SeeLeveL Soul system. If your RV has a SeeLeveL Soul tank monitoring system installed from the factory, this is the sensor you need to get if you need a replacement. Older versions of these sensors may not work for you.

Bottom line: No matter what monitor you are using, this sensor will work.

Video Transcript for Review of SeeLeveL Smart RV - Holding Tank Sensor - SE88VR

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this nine inch long SeeLeveL Sensor for your RV holding tank monitor. Now this sensor adheres to the outside of the RV's holding tank. And it's designed to measure its fluid levels and it sends those readings to the SeeLeveL monitor that's inside your RV. Now the SeeLeveL monitors we do sell separately on our website. They are listed on this product page as a related product.

Now the traditional tank monitors use an interior probe and they have a reputation for being unreliable. Only a few sensors are installed inside, meaning that they usually only measure in quarter increments and they can send false readings if they get dirty. So when you're keeping an eye on how much fresh water you have, the difference between 25% full and empty means a lot. And that inaccuracy can be a problem. What's nice with these sensors, they're designed to mount to the outside of the tank.

Rather than using an interior probe. This will help prevent false readings caused by accumulating debris. And the sensor will measure how much fluid is in your RV's holding tank. Hard wiring to the SeeLeveL holding tank monitor. This does provide readings with single digit accuracy.

Basically it can read levels within 3 to 5%, instead of the quarter increments. This is coated with a nice flexible epoxy layer for added durability. And what's nice about it, this can be trimmed or stacked with another sensor to fit the size of your tank. Basically, if you look real close, you might be able see the sections right over here. They're basically in one inch increments, so it can be trimmed every one inch to match the height of your tank.

And one sensor can accommodate from 3 1/2 inch to 10 1/2 inch tall tanks. And you can stack additional sensors to accommodate tanks up to 19 1/2 inches tall. They do install very easily. You just clean the tank surface, remove this 3M backing, and then just stick it to the side of the holding tank. The tabs right up here on the top of the sensor, they are trimmed to indicate which tank it is on. And the bus wiring will let all the sensors splice together to one line. And even the existing wiring from your old tank monitor system can be used to ease the install of these sensors. Now, this one is a 9 inch long one. They are also available in a 6 inch length, which is part number SE77VR. A 12 inch length, SE87VR. And a 16 inch length, SE27VR. But again, just to give you an idea, if we measure that, it's gonna be right at 9 inches tall. And the width is right at 2 1/2 inches wide. But that should do it for a review on this 9 inch long SeeLeveL sensor for your RV holding tank monitor..

Yet another great experience with eTrailer. The water tank level sensor was priced right and arrived quickly. I've already installed and it is up and running. I'm a "happy camper".

Works great. It's all about placing it properly on the tank to get the proper calibration.
