Advanced RV Tank Monitoring

Traditional tank monitors have a reputation for being unreliable. Only a few sensors are installed inside, meaning that they usually only measure in quarter increments and can send false readings if they get dirty. When you're keeping an eye on how much fresh water you have, the difference between 25% full and empty means a lot, and that inaccuracy can be a problem.

The SeeLeveL tank monitoring system uses technology that can sense fluid levels from the outside of the tank. The sensors' flexible circuit board sticks in place and measures along its entire height. This makes it accurate in single-digit increments.

If you are replacing an old tank monitoring system, you'd want to check which functions are being provided by the existing panel. Some models incorporate switches for pumps or heaters or are providing information on propane levels. You'd want to pick the SeeLeveL monitor that can provide for all of these features.

Video Transcript for Review of SeeLeveL Smart RV - Holding Tank Management System - SE74VR

Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this SeeLeveL RV holding tank monitor. Now this monitor is going to display the levels of your RV's propane, black, gray, and fresh tanks, as well as the battery voltage at the push of a button. Unlike your traditional tank monitors that use only a few sensors, which typically means that they are only able to measure in quarter increments, which as I'm sure you know, the difference between 25% full and empty can mean a lot, this system is going to hardwire to your SeeLeveL sensors, which are sold separately. Those sensors measure along the entire height for single-digit accuracy. And so if you are needing to get those sensors, we do have several options, depending on the size of your tank, that you can choose from.

You can see those on the screen there. This is also going to activate your water heater and your water pump with the integrated switches here. This does have three-way function that's going to allow you to connect to switches in your bathroom, kitchen, and elsewhere. This will also work with multiple monitors, so you can at the tank status from the service bay as well as inside your RV. This does check the status and signal strength from the sensors using a diagnostic mode that helps improve the accuracy during your installation.

It is going to alert you of any errors or calibration issues with various display codes. Those codes can be looked up in your owner's manual and it will explain what the code means and give you suggestions for solutions. To get this installed, it's gonna be very simple. Just need to cut the hole for a recess-mount monitor, and then screw it in place. As far as our dimensions go, this is right at 4 inches wide by 2 and, we'll call it 2 7/8 of an inch tall.

And then our depth, looking at approximately 1 1/4 of an inch deep there. It does include the pigtails needed for installation. Your existing wiring from your old tank monitoring system can be used to make the installation easier. And this does have an operating temperature range of 32 degrees Fahrenheit all the way up to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. It will also have an operating voltage range of 11 volts to 16 volts.

So like I said, it is just one component. You will need those sensors as well. But having this all installed is going to give you a much better idea of your RV's tank levels so that you can prevent running out when you need it. So that completes our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching..
