Advanced RV Tank Monitoring

Traditional tank monitors have a reputation for being unreliable. Only a few sensors are installed inside, meaning that they usually only measure in quarter increments and can send false readings if they get dirty. When you're keeping an eye on how much fresh water you have, the difference between 25% full and empty means a lot, and that inaccuracy can be a problem.

The SeeLeveL tank monitoring system uses technology that can sense fluid levels from the outside of the tank. The sensors' flexible circuit board sticks in place and measures along its entire height. This makes it accurate in single-digit increments.

LPG Monitoring

LPG tank equipped with a remote sensor

Large RVs with permanent propane tanks often feature wired sensors on their gauges. These can go by different names, such as LPG gauge sensors, tank level monitors, remote ready dials, or R3D dials. If your RV has an interior panel for monitoring LPG levels, you know you're good to go with wiring already in place for an easy install. If you're not sure, check the tank itself. If the gauge has a wired sensor attached to it, you can connect it to the SeeLeveL monitor.

SeeLeveL sensors used for fresh, gray, and black tanks will not work on metal tanks of any kind, including LPG tanks.

If you are replacing an old tank monitoring system, you'd want to check which functions are being provided by the existing panel. Video Transcript for Review of SeeLeveL Smart RV - RV Holding Tank Monitor Fresh Gray Black Propane - SE64VR

Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. And today we're gonna take a look at the SeeLevel RV Holding Tank Monitor for fresh, gray, black, and propane tanks with the integrated water pump switch. If your RV tank monitor readings change from 25% to empty in the blink of an eye, that's a problem. This monitor uses SeeLevel Sensors which are sold separately for single digit accuracy. And the SeeLevel Tank Monitoring System uses technology that can sense fluid levels from the outside of the tank and the sensors' flexible circuit board sticks in place and measures along the entire height. This makes it accurate in single digit increments.

Now this monitor displays the levels of your RVs, fresh, gray, and black tanks at the push of a button, and it can also display your propane levels and battery voltage. This can activate your water pump with the integrated switch and the three-way function let you connect to switches in your bathroom, kitchen or elsewhere. If your RV has an interior panel for monitoring LPG levels, you're good to go with wiring already in place for an easy install. If you're not sure, check the tank itself. If the gauge has a wired sensor attached to it you can connect it to the SeeLevel Monitor.

Now this works with multiple monitors so you can check tank status from the service bay and inside your RV. You can also check the statuses and signal strength of your sensors using the diagnostic mode, which will help improve accuracy during installation. This will also alert you of any errors or calibration issues with various display codes. The codes are explained with suggested solutions in the user's manual. This monitor installs easily, just cut a hole for this recess mounting monitor and screw into place with the included screws that you see there.

The included pigtails and they run about 11 to 11 and a half inches, they're going to be necessary for installation and the existing wiring from your old tank monitor system can be used to ease the install. So this is for three holding tank systems. And let me pull out my ruler here and just give you some overall dimensions. It looks like the width is sitting right at about 4 inches and the height, we're gonna be sitting right at almost 3 inches, about 2.78 inches tall. And looking at the depth, I'm gonna be including the plugs for these pigtails.

We are gonna be sitting right at about an inch in overall depth. Now the operating temperature range for this is gonna be 32 degrees Fahrenheit to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. The operating voltage is gonna be 11 volts to 16 volts. And SeeLevel Monitors come in a variety of different configurations depending on your specific requirements. Consult the chart on this product page to make sure that you get the monitor you need. If you are replacing an old tank monitoring system, you'd want to check which function are being provided by the existing panel. Some models incorporate switches for pumps or heaters, or providing information on propane levels. You will want to pick the SeeLevel Monitor that can provide for all of those features. Well, that's gonna conclude our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me..
