So far the product has worked well based on the trailer I’m using it on which is an aluminum trailer with single pole tongue

by:

I had previously purchased a different pole tongue adapter that did not work. This one has worked perfectly with my weight distribution hitch. It is well built and heavy and my boat tows better than ever. I could not be happier.

After a year of use there have been no issues, it still works great.

@Leslie We're happy to hear that!

So far so good. Had a shop install this add-on bracket for my boat trailer and it allowed me to install the appropriate wd hitch for my surge brake setup and pole tongue.

Worked W.

I really appreciate the follow up. The hitch setup has been working out really well. I am glad I went with the product and your company. Would not hesitate to do it again.

by:

Became an excellent solution for two trailers that I had that were configured with a pole tongue style frame. Pleased with how this system has worked with my trailers and weight distribution hitch thus far. Only thing I noticed was the spacing of the holes where the bracket clamps to the tongue. My tongue dimensions did not give me a tight fit using the pre drilled holes in the brackets but a rather sizable gap between the bolts and the tongue. This was easily remedied by adding a spacer to make up the difference.

by:

Stacey was very helpful in assisting me with piecing together weight distribution system. The pole tongue adapter by Reese is well built and will certainly provide the requirement needed to distribute weight. Buy with confidence!

by:

Works like a charm. I have a heavy boat / trailer with a straight (not a “v”) tongue and needed a way to hook up a distor hitch. This

by:

This pole tongue adapter arrived with two 6-inch connecting bolts that secure the four mounts under the trailer tongue. Sadly, only the outside 1.5 inches of the hex bolts were threaded, which would be great if my trailer tongue was 4 inches wide. Mine is 3 inches wide (a standard width for heavy boat trailers), so I ran out of thread before the part was secured. So I could either get a whole bunch of flat washers (Grade 5), or try to get 5 inch hex bolts. I called Reese, they are shipping me 6-inch fully threaded bolts. Not sure if that is the strongest set-up; I ended up ordering 5 inch partially threaded bolts from Grainger. Grade 5 hex bolts are NOT at [average retail stores]. So a PIT[Y] but not a deal killer.

by:

works awesome, use it for my 35 foot boat trailer. pulled it on a 1200 mile trip the first use and it was a world of difference when i hooked it up! Thanks!

by:

fast shipping

Product took 3 days to arrive-nice! Fit and finish is fantastic. I would install it now, however it is -3 out and -20 with the wind chill. Nice work etrailer! This is my second order with you and I will be back

by:

if you have a heavy pole-tongue trailer, this adapter helps with safety
by letting you use a weight distribution system.

by:

This is extremely well built and the installation instructions were excellent. Thanks.

  • Recommended Weight Distribution And Adapter For 5500 Pound Trailer With Pole Tongue
The weight distribution system I recommend for your tandem trailer is the Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution System w Sway Control, part # RP66559. This system works with trailers that have 500 to 1000 lbs tongue weight. This system also features sway control which helps when dealing with high winds and large trucks passing by on the highway. A weight distributing shank is included, but you'll also need the properly sized trailer ball with a 1-1/4 inch diameter shank like # 63845 for...

  • Weight Distribution with Sway Control, For a Boat Trailer with Surge Brakes and a Pole Tongue
For a boat trailer you would need to use a pole tongue adapter like # RP58393 and a Reese Steadi-Flex weight distribution system. Based on a potential gross trailer weight of 6,000 pounds, your trailer tongue weight is probably around 600 pounds if not less since boat trailers often have lower tongue weights than other trailers. But you also have to add the weight of any cargo loaded behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle to the trailer tongue weight when choosing weight distribution. I...

  • How Does Weight Distribution System Chain Hanger Attach to Reese Pole Tongue Adapter
It is odd that it's left out but yes you do need to drill through the outside plates of the Reese pole tongue adapter part # RP58393 to attach the brackets of the weight distribution system that you have. For the other brands like Equal-i-zer their pole tongue adapter # EQ95-01-5950 comes with the holes drilled and hardware for them. This is because they offer only one style of spring bar frame bracket and Reese has quite a few so they had to make theirs more universal. I would also make...

For your EZLoader Pontoon Tritoon Trailer, I recommend the Reese Pole-Tongue Adapter for Weight Distribution Systems - 14,000 lbs GTW, 1,400 lbs TW, # RP58393. This will allow you to use a weight distribution system that includes sway control. The biggest focus of weight distribution systems is total tongue weight, which is the loaded tongue weight of the trailer along with any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. The tongue weight of a trailer is normally 10-15% of the total...

  • Weight Distribution System for a Boat Trailer with Surge Brakes
There is a way to use weight distribution on a boat trailer with surge brakes. First, you will need to contact the trailer manufacturer to determine if the trailer frame can be used with weight distribution. Not all boat trailer frames, especially aluminum frames, can be used with weight distribution. The trailer tongue weight is probably in the neighborhood of 700 pounds (10 percent of the gross trailer weight) but you have to add the weight of anything loaded behind the rear axle of...

Since you are using a weight distribution system like the Curt MV Weight Distribution System # C17052 you will need a Reese Pole-Tongue Adapter # RP58393 that is designed for use with the chain style hangers. This has the structure to support the hanger. The Pole-Tongue Adapter for Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Systems # EQ95-01-5950 is only compatible with Equal-i-zer and Fastway systems as they have the bolts for the sway bar brackets.

  • Recommended Equal-I-zer Weight Distribution Hitch for Ice Castle Fish House Trailer
For your Ice Castle Fish House, the weight of the unit will determine what Equal-I-zer system will work best. A weight distribution system is based on the total tongue weight of the loaded trailer along with any cargo weight behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. Because these trailers are fairly good sized, I'll give you a recommendation for a larger system. You want that total tongue weight to fall in the middle of the range of the system for best results. For a total tongue weight...

A weight distribution system would definitely help reduce the sway you're describing. If this happens, your vehicle's rear axle will bear the weight of not only the trailer, but much of your...
