Can A Weight Distribution System be Used on a Boat Trailer with a Pole Tongue

Question:

Ive never seen a sway control system and or weight distribution system that can be mounted on a boat trailer. From the A frame on the trailer forward is a single beam and measure 5 feet to the hitch. The sway control systems all mounts on the A frame of the trailer which angles out at 30 degrees or more. Itfoot doesnt look like you could mount it on the straight beam as there would be no clearance. Also the weight distribution system beams are all about 3 feet or less all angled out and attached to the A frame. I have looked around at other boat trailers and all are the same. Isnt there something that can work on boat trailers.?

We have a pole tongue adapter that allows weight distribution systems to be installed on the style of frames that boat trailer have. For a Reese weight distribution system you would want the part # RP58393.

The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached a help article on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well. You will want the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use.

Once you know your tongue weight you will want to check out the link I attached that has all of the weight distribution systems we carry. You will be able to select your tongue weight from the filters to see what would be rated for your setup.
