Today we're going to be taking a look at the Valterra flash mounted telescoping gravity fill water inlet for Rvs. This unit allows you to add or replace or gravity fill water inlet on your RV. To open the unit all you've got to do is lift up on the latch, pull it out. You can fill the fresh water tank by pouring water into this area here and then when you're done, you just close it and then push that back down to latch it shut. It's a really nice design. That's the telescoping function of the mechanism.
The latch does snap shut but there is a small hole you can see right in there. It could be used to pass a lock through and lock it closed. It's not included where you could tie that shut someway so I just wanted you to be aware that that is there in case you want add more security to making sure the unit stays closed. The unit's got a feature, the appropriate seals for leak proof performance and if you look in the very top of the unit, it's hard to see from that area, but back here there's a connection point for air vent, so that's included. What that does is as you're filling your fresh water tank, a lot of times air gets trapped in there and if it doesn't have a way to escape, it's actually going to create a lot of pressure. That air vent would connect to the hosing on your RV and that allows air to escape as you fill the fresh water tank to keep pressure from building up. This is a flash mount installation.
It's got 4 mounting holes. A mounting hardware is not included. The mount holes on the unit are going to be separated on center by 2-1/2 inches and that's going to be the same distance between each mount hole going on center. A cut out is needed for installation. This area right here is going to give us a diameter measurement of about 2-1/2 inches. The unit is also going to have the air vent right here.
That's going to be a 3/8th inch fitting. Again, that's going to allow air to escape to keep pressure from building up inside the tank. One of the neat things I like about the unit is the barbed fitting right here is actually 2 sizes so if your RV is equipped with an 1-1/4 inch barb inlet, you can use this area right here and then you can see how it increases in size up here. It has the 1-1/4 inch barbed inlet and has the 1-3/8th inch inlet for connecting the RV plumbing to the gravity fill. The unit's made from a very strong durable plastic construction and the main housing portion is going to be white in color. That's going to do it for today's look at the Valterra flash mounted telescoping gravity fill water inlet for Rvs..

Telescoping gravity fill inlet gives you a large opening to make it easier to refill your RV's holding or fresh-water tank. Slides in flush when not in use. Connects to your fresh-water tank with 1-3/8" or 1-1/4" barbs.a little on the cheap side, it is a bit loose and does not want to stay completely closed. Fit was good both on the RV and the hose connections though.
Just as advertised. Perfect fit for my 1971 aristocrat land commander. Very pleased.
This is exactly what we need to build a water system in our converted skoolie. The package was sent and unfortunately USPS lost it. I contacted etrailer and was immediately helped. They sent a replacement at no charge and it arrived the next day! After the run around with USPS having etrailer respect and go out of their way to help me was amazing. Such a great company with great products. Thank you!!
Easy to order and quick to receive!
This is for outside installation only! water leaks from the telescoping portion.
I tried to install inside on a four seasons van conversion- Fail!! water leaked all over the cabin.
Exactly what they said it was ,fit my trailer perfectly, very happy. etrailer gets it out on time and everything's just like they said it is . I've ordered from them before and I've never been disappointed I highly recommend them if you're looking for parts for your camper trailer or whatever you need.

Still working and still using it on the camper.
I have not installed this yet. When the filler is in locked position it can pop open a bit. That's why I, wanted to replace the original one on the camper. As it pops open too. So I've been putting tape on it to keep it closed. It would be nice if there was a gravity water fill with the same 4 hole mounting with the newer stile screw on garden hose female fitting.
Product was just what I needed and at a very good price. I am restoring a 1988 travel trailer and the part was exactly like the original.

It works great, have had no problems with it.
Make sure you measure to check fitting (duh, but I didn’t haha!) little bit of cutting and it fit perfectly. Looks really good, installed on a 1987 Terry Resort
I ordered a water fill and porch light to replace the broken ones. The new ones were an exact match and easy to install.

Working like they are still new! very pleased.
This replace the original unit that was very old and brittle. It is very easy to install if replacing an existing water fill. I was concerned at first as the latch was not closing far enough to allow a pin to be inserted (keeps the unit closed) I found that I needed to re-tighten the mounting screws as i created a slight bend in the flange. Once it was done correctly everything worked flawlessly.
Nice replacement piece, gravity fed fill is super easy to use
Great fit!
I love "Etrailer" my parts come quicker than expected, arrive in tack with no dammage and they always follow up!! Restoring a vintage trailer is hard enough, but with Etrailer.com they make it easier!! Thank YOU!!
This is exactly what I wanted to replace the old "burping" filler for my bus. It has a nipple for a vent hose that goes back to your tank. It's also deep enough to fit a number of double-walled RVs.
Kudos to etrailer for their service and speed in shipping!
Exact replacement for older camper, great price, quick delivery. I recommend etrailer.
Just what we needed! Perfect replacement for the old one. Looks like good quality. Fast shipping!
The part was exactly what I needed and arrived early...I would order more parts from etrailer. ..very helpful and friendly
