Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at a Valterra water inlet for RVs. Now, this water inlet simply provides the access point for filling your RV's water tanks, so you can attach a fresh water hose to this unit and fill your tanks this way. It does have the filter right here, so it is designed to filter out anything that would try to get into your fresh water supply and contaminate it. That's a nice design that's built into the unit. Also, it comes with a dust plug. It covers up that connection point for when the inlet is not being use. Now, this is constructed of a durable metal construction.
It's black in color. Mounting hardware and installation thread tape are included. It also comes with your brass check valve. Again, the press-in dust plug, putty tape and the plastic male nipple. The overall diameter of the unit, I measured from edge to edge and got a measurement of 4 5/8 inches, and then the mount holes going at a straight line are separated on center, apart from one another, by 3 9/16 inches. To get it installed, it is a recessed flange mount and it does require a 3 5/8 inch diameter hole for installation. That's going to do it for today's look at the Valterra water inlet for RVs..

Replacement city water inlet solves your problem with a broken, leaky check valve. Recessed flange keeps cap from protruding past your RV wall. Uses a 1/2" brass FPT connection, and includes adapter to create a 1/2" MPT connection.I bought it to upgrade the water port on my one year old Winnebago trailer. The old port was getting loose as the molded plastic was no longer retaining the fitting well. This new port is much better built and the water connection is less recessed so it is easier to access. The gripper makes connecting and disconnecting simpler as well.
The screw holes lined up well though not quite perfectly. It would probably have been fine to just driven the screws back in and been done with it, but I chose to rotate the unit about 30 degrees and created 3 new holes.
One minor gripe - The included screws are phillips only. Come on Valterra, this is for the RV industry where square drive is the standard. I solved it by just reusing my original screws.
I wasn't sure if this would fit. Description and picture helped me decide. And it fit just right. Installation was simple and now no more leaking hoses.
