Ellen: Hey everyone I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. Today, we're taking a look at the City Water Dish. This is going to be a replacement for your valve, for your city water inlet on your RV. So if something happened to your original and you need to replace it, this is going to be the part for you. So we'll have our cap to cover up our inlet there, also has the free spinning attachments. We can easily get our hose threaded on there, and then we'll have a little screen to make sure that there's no debris that's going to be getting into our water.
This is going to have a lead-free brass valve. So it's going to be durable and also safe for our portable water. So the city water shouldn't be contaminated by any lead there. The dish itself is made out of a metal material, so or a metal housing.So we won't have to worry about that either as far as breaking or anything. So it should be up to task of withstanding being outside on our RV.
As far as the measurements for this, our valve is going to be a half inch MTP or a Male Pipe Thread. So it should work for most of your attachments to get that plumbed into the rest of your RV. The dish measures about four and three quarters of an inch in outer diameter. Really about four and five eights of an inch. The cutout or the place where this is actually going to fit into is going to be about three and a half inches.
So it angles up there. So as long as our rough dimension is going to be about that half or three and a half inches. The dish depth is about three quarters of an inch.The valve is itself about one and three quarters. So overall that'll be about two and a half inches of depth, but this is going to fit back in there. Has three attachment holes, but it does not come with any hardware to get that attached.
So you'll either have to reuse the hardware from your original or purchase them separately, but that's pretty much all there is to it. For our City Water Dish, does have a check valve here to make sure that we don't have any back feed of water. And again, our cap attached. My old city connection back flow was frozen this last cold snap. This part went right in works great.
Product worked well for it's intended purpose, but did not fit my Rv. The white round plate was the wrong size. I ended up installing on a friend's camper who was having a leak and it worked great!
