Very nice wheelchair carrier. Only drawback is I had to take spare tire off my 2008 Jeep Wrangler. The pin would not go in to secure the carrier to the hitch. The reach needs to be about 4" longer to give adequate clearance

Do you have any trouble with the tires on your chair getting stuck between the slats?

by:

hitch fits a 24 inch aierens delux snowblower perfectly with just enough room on either side rails for the wheels and the frontshoes ive also had my lawnmower and plenty of other stuff on it over the last year with a house move it was great build quality is good and as expected it was pretty simple to put together too i did buy another hitch stabilizer because the one that is sent with did bot work on my hitch NOT THE FAULT of the stabilizer sent!!

by:

We vacation in St. Augustine where you can drive on the beach. Use the hitch hauler to shuttle items from condo to the beach every day, (chairs, toys, canopy, etc.). Works great as the items and hitch hauler can be rinsed off at the end of the day to remove sand and salt. Also use it to transport lawnmower to lake property to cut the grass every couple of weeks. The all aluminum construction is light weight to install and it maintains it newness (no rust or cracked paint). Installed an LED light bar, with turn signals, backup and running lights across the back for improved visibility day and night. Highly recommend this product.

I don’t want to be to harsh, so I gave the product 4 stars. So you know, I would buy it again. What you need to know about me is that I am a DIYer and I will repair or reinforce any part of this carrier I deem needs attention. The anti-tilt bracket did not work at all on my 2011 Chevy Tahoe. It came loose on both of my 12 mile test runs (with load). The bracket is very important so I will be modifying that bracket so it will work on my factory receiver. Minor items, mounted the right side (side where ramp extends) reflector to the outer limits of the larger bracket. In my opinion the factory location was to far left and did not mark outer limits of carrier. I had one bent upright bracket that supports the top rail of carrier basket. The gussets under the hitch bar assembly are factory bent up and twisted. I assume that is because of the thinness of the metal they selected. And the factory welds are good, but far and few. I will be keeping a eye out on all of them as I use carrier. I plan on using carrier for a heavy generator and my welder. The generator weighs 225lbs and welder is another 62lbs. I did notice on my 12 mile test drive my generator shifted. I had one diagonal strap. Could of been the anti-tilt bracket failing, but I will use two straps in the future. I have some photos you might be able to see how the generator was strapped down for test run. The best thing about this was etrailer, excellent company, 5 Stars.

Product works great.

Put it together easily, carrier meets all my expectations. The carrier will be used to move my Mom's mobility scooter. Because my Sister helps by taking Mom around I made a roll around carrier storage/mover. The roll around stand places the carrier at exactly the right height, such that my sister can roll the carrier up to the back of her car and the carrier can be pushed into the receiver without any lifting. etrailer should consider designing something similar with adjustable height so that the carrier can be more easily installed by older/weaker folks.

by:

This is my first time working with etrailer. All corespondence was done over the enter net.
I live in Montana and etrailer is in Missouri I couldn't find what I needed for carrying my electric generator in Montana. Etrailer sales crew was more than helpful. They helped me through the whole process. I bought the carrier and it was shipped faster than expected. Angela W deserves the highest complement.
Even after the sale she did a follow up to make sure I received everything.

Excellent purchase. Order 3-10, arrived 3-14-17. Very little that needed assembled. Ramp was already attached, basket was complete. Had to attach the reflectors, tie downs and screw the hitch plate on the bottom. Much easier to do on top a picnic table. Saved my old knees from crawling around on the ground. I had also ordered a Curt Multipurpose Ball mount with a 4" riser for the receiver as the receiver on my Grand Caravan sits fairly low to the ground. I had it all assembled & on the car with the help of a hand dolly. I'm 5'4", 135#, and a 66 year old female. If I can deal with this unit, anyone can. I have no complaints about the quality. Well built, appears sturdy & all the bolt holes lined up perfectly. I'm a bit concerned about the plastic corner pieces but if they fail, I'm sure I can figure out a fix.

by:

had issues with the ramp not the correct one for the model. had to make some mods to get it to work, it does the job now use it mainly to transport a snowblower.

by:

We purchased a mobility scooter carrier. It arrived really fast & in perfect condition, the packaging was done really well. It is well designed & easy to use & was really easy to install. It's very sturdy & well made. We are very happy with it & would recommend it to anyone carrying a mobility scooter. Also, very good price for quality workmanship.

by:

Customer service was excellent. I called and Julie and Jessica listened.

Parts for the platform had to be shipped a second time due to shipment being lost.....this problem was resolved within two days. I really appreciated the response time.

Great testament in today's world......

Always will recommend this company,

I use it all the time. It’s like looks brand new! Im so thankful that I opened your website when I was looking for a hauler that was light weight, durable and inexpensive. Thanks again!

by:

Great works perfectly. Easy to load and unload. To the stabliser work's perfect but on my avalanche had to install it with bolts down.

by:

Great product! Does everything I hoped it would!
I love that it is made out of aluminum. Went together fast.
Thanks

by:

My order arrived in great shape. I plan to use the carrier to transport my mobility scooter, and, believe it or not, with the help of my wife I finished the assembly while seated in my power wheel chair. That way I could scoot from one end or side to the other.
We are very pleased with the looks and quality of the carrier. It also looks great at the back of our Ford Explorer.

Excellent! It has proven to be everything I hoped it would be. Very easy to load/unload my mobility scooter. It does not block view through rear window. Also easy to remove and store.

by:

Very handy for toting lots of stuff short or long distances.
Carries my snow blower and rototiller when required.
Has made a coast to coast trip and back with Rubbermaid totes.

by:

I bought this carrier to transport a snow blower between various family homes. The fold down ramp makes this a very easy job. One drawback I have is since my main use is in winter & with less day light I wish it had an option for led lighting. When the ramp is in the up/stored position (with snowblower loaded) it blocks the light on my truck (limiting the light/turn signal). I have now bought another tool I wanted to haul & the platform is about 1" to narrow & will/would take a major redo to make it work. I have also bought a hitch stabilizer to keep the unit from rocking in the hitch. Overall this unit works great for my original intended use & I am very satisfied.

by:

the hitch adapter was easy to install in minutes. application for our vehicle was a perfect fit. ordering and delivery were expedient.

the manufacturer might consider including a thin wedge plate when order include the power chair carrier with ramp.

the receiver tilts down slightly for trailer use contrary to the rack that needs to be level to prevent dragging.

thank you for follow up jim m

by:

Trailer is relatively light, sturdy, and has fit my purposes well (2010 Subaru Outback). Two suggested improvements would be: (1) design the back end to ride an inch or two little higher as I've scraped the bottom while traveling over uneven road surfaces (2) eliminate the need to crawl under the car to attach and secure it to the hitch receiver.

by:

Excellent product. I purchased the cargo carrier with a 6' ramp to haul my husbands scooter. The carrier was made of aluminum so light enough for me to handle. The 6' ramp allowed me to easily drive the scooter on carrier without any issues. I was extremely happy with this product not to mention all the looks I received when people would watch me load and unload with ease.

by:

The cargo carrier works as advertised. Lite but strong. Very convenient when needed to pack/haul additional "stuff".
The front trailer hitch receiver was easy to install. It also is very convenient and strong.
We are very pleased with both products, would readily recommend them.

by:

Installation was simple and it will be useful.
Thanks

by:

I bought the maxx tow because I am sick of carrying gasoline containers and lawn mowers on my front seat. The aluminum carrier was more expensive and it might corrode a bit but it won't outright rust and while some what heavy to attatch, the steel one must be a real chore.
My one complaint is with the shipping company as my carrier was obviously tossed out the back of the truck from a great height. All attempts to package the unit securely at the factory failed under the rough handling and abuse. One rail was very bent and the steel base had broken all it's tie downs and was shifting within the carrier during shipping doing more cosmetic damage. I wasn't home when it was delivered to inspect as usual. I'd sort of like to damage my own stuff.

by:

I received the cargo carrier yesterday. The box was literally beat to a pulp and had been taped together, absolutely a terrible job of packaging a product for delivery by UPS or any other freight company. 2 of the uprights were bent, the 2 hairpin (hitch pins) that hold the lock in place when the ramp is in the vertical position was missing, the metal plate that is welded to the male part of the receiver was also bent, one of the treads on the ramp had also been gouged.

I straightened out the uprights, went to Lowes and bought 2 new hitch pins and was able to hammer the hitch mounting plate straight. I guess I'll live with the little gouge on the ramp tread. As the box is totally not in a shape for me to send the product back.

If I had bought this locally, I would have taken it back to the store for a refund. The ramp is what I expected it to be, the quality is satisfactory. It's just the shipping that damaged the product. I need the carrier for this weekend, if it were not for that, I would have shipped it back for a full refund and found another source.

Again, the product I believe will serve the purpose intended, it was damaged in shipping along with the lost components. There needs to be a better packaging if ETrailer intends to ship this via a commercial carrier.

I bought this this cargo carrier for my brother to help him with his small landscaping business. Instead of constantly lifting his mower in and out of the back of his pickup truck - possibly hurting his (or my) back - now all he has to do is simply roll his mower onto the MaxxTow Cargo Carrier and buckle it up. Its that simple. This cargo carrier has really addressed our needs. I bought a lock for the cargo carrier so it stays on his pickup truck at all times. And my brother says he is gets compliments all the time, too.
