Haven’t used the rack yet but it appears that it will suit my need just fine. I expected shipping damage to the product and it did have a plastic corner damaged as well as several bends in the aluminum frame (photo attached). For the price I wasn’t expecting a product that could be regularly used without breaking somewhere so I am glad that etrailer offers this product.
This is just what I was looking for to use on my Tesla Model Y! It's lightweight and sturdy enough to hold our camping cooler and tub! Very happy with this product.
I've had this cargo carrier for about a year now, and it's been holding up well. The bolts are still seemingly as tight as the day I put it together. Bear in mind that they are small bolts, and although you /could/ put it together with some simple pliers, it would be a major pain. Make sure you h have an assortment of small wrenches and sockets to make life easy.
I bought the carrier because the inner dimensions are just big enough for me to carry 4 tires standing up. I ended up not needing to buy the tires for my move to and from Alaska, but I used the carrier anyways for a gas can, and lugging gear back down. It's driven through snow, ice, and wind from Texas -> Alaska -> Tennessee and beyond. It's permanently stained in color, but I'll be hooking it back up again in a couple of weeks to move.
The reason it received a 4 and not a 5. The receiver hitch hole is located so that the carrier is too far from the bumper. I moved it in and drilled another hole for the pin, and it works fine. This my be to fit multiple models of automobiles.
The hitch connects threaded pin instead of sliding it through it. That part is impossible for me to attach my carrier. Other than that carrier looks good.
The almost perfect hauler. It is super lightweight, making it very easy to take on and off. The top railing allows for very easy tie down points. You can use ratcheting straps, rope, bungee cord / netting, or whatever. 500 pounds capacity, which is all you should be putting on a class 3 hitch anyway. There are many waterproof fabric bagswith built in tie down points you can get that will fit into this hauler.
But there is ONE thing. As you can see from the photo above, the carrier will obscure my plate unless it is empty. Also if I load it up, the tail lights might be obstructed. Both are a problem. The plate is just going to get you stopped and questioned, the lack of visible lights could result in an accident. So I cut up an old license plate, then riveted it to the frame and mounted LED trailer lights. Etrailer - you really should make a plate that attaches to the existing bolt holes that can accommodate trailer lights. It was super easy to do what I did, but if I could have just ordered a light kit I would have.
Lightweight but sturdy. It fits nicely on my THOR Motor Coach Scope RV. The hitch holds tight without wobbling.
The product description was spot on, the light weight(aluminum) cargo carrier worked great. Never even got near the 500 lb capacity.

Still holding up great, about to add it to my Airstream so we can carry everthing we need. I use it to carry firewood as well. Love it !

Made in China, which I dislike. But, the quality is there and assembly was pretty easy although there were many screws and nuts. I stood on it and bounced. I’m 160 lbs and it didn’t flex much. I can easily see that it’ll hold up to 500 lbs evenly distributed. Perfect for the RV hitch and COMES WITH THE ANTI RATTLE kit.
Great item. Easy assembly. I wanted a lower rail height, so I cut all the supports down, red rolled and riveted. No way I could have done that w a steel unit. And so light! My old steel one nearly killed me. Love etrailer.
Very good product for low price, love the standard shipping which arrived two days early! However, deduct a star for packaging which allowed the long support to be dented during shipping. Appears to need extra pad at center where steel square tube is strapped to the base. I didn't think the dent hurt the structural integrity and I needed to depart on a camping trip that required me to assemble and use the carrier immediately. So I did not notify etrailer to get a replacement piece. I know they would have sent me a replacement if I wanted, as they are always very good with support/customer satisfaction. Carrier held up great on trip. No vibration or wiggle. Would be nice to have a few tie down rings rather than the thin edge of the support beams.

Light weight, but very sturdy. Just do not over tighten the bolts, otherwise the Aluminum dents.
So far, so good. My grown daughter helped me put it together. She held the wrench and I used a drill to tighten all of the screws. It took us approximately 30 minutes. The directions are lacking. But overall it went together fairly easy. I drove about 10 miles with it today and didn't hear it rattle. I couldn't tell it was there. I purchased it to be able to haul a tub with trash inside it to the county trash receiving site. Very light to insert into the hitch receiver although a little difficult to reach over and put the hitch pin in. I'm very pleased thus far.
So far it’s together.Made an 40 mile round trip. Assembled fairly quickly, although the instructions are not written by a fluent English speaker I’d bet.The aluminum is thin as others mentioned. Big disappointment in the bolts. They are so cheap and soft that if you need to take one off it will not tighten ever again. The thread strip and disappear. I am going to buy my own nuts and bolts and replace them because I can’t trust it will stay together. It’s not worth having to deal with shipping it back or losing money on shipping. Last I’ll buy of flint hill products. Should just avoid etrailer when I think about it. The hot yo bought 10 years ago was rusted beyond recognition in a year. My bad I forgot.
I do have to say that there were a few bent rails from shipping, and I know that is not your fault and it was minor. I was able to make it look like new. I am looking forward to using it. It was easy to assemble, and it even had an extra set of fasteners which was nice. Good quality product for the price.
Like the construction just afraid that the pop rivets and plastic corners will fail fairly quickly. I hope I am wrong and plastic corners last a long time. This looks better built and better priced than the other products I have researched. Love the lightweight frame. I will be using the rack to carry my portable generator and leveling blocks.
This carrier is perfect for us! I’ve been using a heavy steel hitch carrier that was cumbersome to put on and take off. The Flint Hill is light enough I can install it without help and will hold a lot of camping gear
Assembly was a breeze. I expected to have to re-drill some of the screw holes but they ALL aligned perfectly. That’s a clear indicator of the quality of this product!
Seams to be a great product but could use extra packaging as the main steel frame had caused damage to the aluminum bottom carriage,
I fixed the damage as I’m a retired aircraft sheet metal mechanic.
