This is a high quality product

by:

Item arrived as advertised and well packaged. I should have orders a longer one though, but that was my fault for not running a tape measure properly.... :)

by:

One of the welding spots looks like it was stopped short from the end? I think it’s okay.
Thanks

I sent the photos you included to my contact at Equal-i-zer. He said the shank has weld pockets that allow the weld to be mostly below the surface, so what is visible on the outside is not the only weld holding the shank together. He confirmed with his Quality Engineer that the welds are fine and the shank is safe to use.

PRODUCT WORKS PERFECTLY

by:

Our new F-150 was a little taller than our old trailer pull vehicle and the lowest setting on our Fastway E2 was a little too high. This was a perfect replacement for the original E2 piece but with extra drop, and let me make the tongue level again. It is really solid and heavy!

by:

I received great help from the salesperson on the phone and was able to order the right length part. Paid for next day shipping but it didn’t ship in time. They called and notified me immediately and refunded the accelerated shipping fee. Product was the right choice

by:

I had changed trucks an needed a large drop to keep the Airstream level. This worked perfect.

Richie

Continues to work perfect, as designed.

by:

High quality with good welds. Be aware it is heavy. Perfect height for setting up my Equalizer hitch on my 2017 Ram 1500 4X2. Needed a 5" drop for my enclosed trailer with a 19" hitch height. Can't go wrong with Equalizer products

by:

The shank is what I ordered and it will do the job I wanted it for. The shank came in very quick after e trailer received it from the manufacturer which it took awhile but etrailer did not pressure me to get something I didn't want.I will say etrailer Sent the shank out the same day they receive it.7

by:

I did not realize that I would need a longer shank when we switched tow vehicles, but the Nissan Armada receiver is actually higher than my GMC 2500HD. So much so that the 3" drop I was using didn't work. Fortunately eTrailer had this in stock and got it too me in 2 days (I had it expedited). It looks and works exactly like the Equalizer shank I had originally, but with a longer drop.

by:

Bought a new truck going from a Colorado to a Titan XD. Needless to say there was a significant change in hitch height. This shank was exactly what I needed. The shank arrived in time for our maiden trip. Thanks for the quick turnaround on my order.

by:

I have a 06 Dodge 2500 with 35" tires and this was what I needed to get my trailer towing level. Very well made and very heavy when the ball mount is attached

by:

I ordered the equal-i-zer weight dist. shank from E-Trailer . It was a fair price and showed up at my door less than a week after it was ordered . It is exactly what I needed to safely tow our trailer .

by:

Works perfect for my truck with a 4 inch differential drop lift kit and 35 inch tires.

by:

Excellent and friendly service. The new shank works great with my Equalizer hitch system; it allowed me to lower my hitch the three inches I needed with my new truck. Solid steel and well made.

by:

I ordered the wrong product, but etrailer sent me a return label and fixed my mess. They even paid for the shipping for my error. I could not be happier!!! Thanks etrailer!

by:

Fantastic service. Said it would arrive on Monday but it arrived on Thursday, 2 day service. Also the price was very good. This is the second time I've ordered from etrailer.com, who needs the other online store.

by:

Very good quality and great prices. Pleasure doing business with etrailer.com. Thanks

by:

Appears very heavy duty, solid metal. Very fast on shipment and notifications. Fit well for equalizer hitch.

by:

We haven’t had the need to raise the ball, but we were able to get the drop we needed for out 1975 Airstream.

by:

Bought a new truck and needed a longer shank. Product as described and the videos and measurements available at etrailer made the selection easy. Super fast shipping. Will buy from again.

by:

Works as I needed to drop my Reese wd hitch. This thing is solid steel and is pretty heavy didn't expect to be this soli. Seems to be a good product that's built right here in the US .

by:

Great customer service as usual. Their reps are always so cordial and helpful. They have always answered my questions and assisted me in completing my orders. Their prices are usually better than any others that I have researched. I will always buy from etrailer.

by:

Received promptly. Just as shown. Too bad I ended up not needing.
etrailer sent me a return label with no hassle.
Thanks.

by:

Used on an F-250, which is much higher than Ford's half ton trucks. Gave me all the adjustment needed. High quality product with no issues.

  • Weight Distribution Hitch Recommendation for 2018 Ford Raptor Towing Airstream Globetrotter
In order to choose the correct weight distribution system for your truck and trailer, it is really important to know your trailer's loaded and ready to tow tongue weight. Since this is the primary weight being distributed by a weight distribution system, it is the main factor in choosing a properly rated system. If you end up towing your camper at it's max gross vehicle weight rating of 6,500 lbs, and the tongue weight falls between 10% and 15% of the total trailer weight, we can expect...

I have attached a help article on how to properly measure the tongue weight of your trailer. To ensure a proper reading, I recommend the etrailer Trailer Tongue Weight Scale part # e99044. The Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control - Round - 10,000 lbs GTW, 1,000 lbs TW # FA94-00-1061, has a shank that will drop 1-5/8 inches from top of hitch receiver opening, so if you measure from the ground to the top of that inside receiver opening and then subtract the height to keep your trailer level, you will know what drop is needed from your weight distribution system shank. This particular system is rated for a trailer up to 12,000lbs with a tongue weight of 800-1,200lbs and has a maximum drop of 3". Your Salem will have left the factory with 720lbs of tongue weight and a maximum GVWR of 10,880lbs. • Weight Distribution System Recommendation For A 2018 Chevy Colorado Pulling A 4,147lbTravel Trailer
I would recommend a weight distribution system for this application. You will notice in many towing situations that vehicles sag in the rear under the downward force of the trailer coupler. This can cause lift to the front of the vehicle and that increases the chance of sway and lessens towing safety. It's really going to depend on how far out of level you are. If you're within an inch or two of level, especially if it's nose-high, you'll be just fine. Turning off the auto-leveling system is not a bad ideal, if it keeps the rear of the vehicle at the correct ride height so the trailer tows level, or nearly level.
