Customer service is very good!
Thank
you!

I have been towing trailers many years With no issues until recently. Trailer weights have increased and loads also. My three way ball with 2 5/16 was torn off of tubing because of insufficient welding, I was very lucky. Yes I went to a solid receiver with bolt style ball. Very great setup. Thanks curt for designing heavy hitches and etrailer for easy ordering.

Best hitch ever, every time I see trucks with fancy trailers with low grade metal and low tongue weight receivers. They don’t know or don’t spend time looking at there set up. Very happy with your great products in towing. Thanks again.

by:

Product is great.

Estimated arrival
was Wednesday (I needed it by Thursday) it arrived the Monday after. I would have bought locally if I knew it was going to be late.

by:

Well finished and fits well in my 2014 Silverado 2500 HD. Arrived without delay in good packaging. Don't forget to order a new pin, and lock. This is a 2-1/2 inch ball mount, and pins and locks for 2 inch devices are too short.

No nonsense. Heavy duty and performs well. Dont it on your foot. It will hurt!

by:

This thing looks hollow in these pictures but I assure you it is solid metal through and through . Very heavy piece and I now realize I made the right choice. The one thing I didn't like about it is the fact you can't find a ball with the correct size shaft to fit the hole precisely , so the one you have to use makes the lock washer sit at a canter in the hole above the nut, its a good thing my shaft has a cotter pin..

Still satisfied with my purchase, ive had no problems with it. I have not had any issues with it coming loose. The best part about it is not having to pull the receiver out every time I have to change trailer ball sizes.

by:

Very stout and solid. Fits a ball with a 2 3/4" or 2 5/8" shanks perfectly, so there isn't too much thread hanging out below waiting to get damaged. It slips into the Ram hitch receiver without much slop, but I haven't towed with it yet.

Great mount for heavy trailering. There is virtually no movement. The paint is holding up well.

by:

Just what I wanted. I am not a fan of the adapter on my Chevy 2500 so I prefer the 3" receiver. This one is solid and offers a small range of height adjustment.

Holding up great, still looks brand new and working well.

Looks good

Needed this to fit the 2-1/2" square rec. hitch on my truck. It is a solid, forged chunk of iron. I use it with a 2-5/16" ball to pull a 20' trailer that is usually loaded with crushed rock weighing 4 to 5 tons. It gets the job done with no problem. Would buy again.

Quality heavy duty ball mount. Fast shipping. Good website.

Great products. Thanks.

On time, repeat customer... Products exactly what I wanted. Thanks for delivering what you promised.

Still holding up...the main sleeve has rusted a bit so I must keep some WD40 on it so it wont swell and get stuck to the truck..overall still very happy with the product a year later! One of very few hitches that can tow 15,000lbs!

by:

Year later and ~5k miles on it - still solid as a rock and no issues/rust.. Looks good!

Another year, another 7k miles or so on this and still no issues whatsoever.. solid product

Had purchased a 24' Cargo Trailer and needed ball mount to raise and level the trailer. E-Trailer fit the bill with a forged ball mount that I just mounted today. I also bought a new ball to go with the ball mount that had a higher weight limit. Also purchased a tri mount because it filled the lift requirement of level on the receiver. Over all a great experience and items were received in a timely manner. (It would be hard to mess these things up in shipping.)

by:

may seem hollow, but is made solid all the way through

by:

I received everything that I requested in a short time even with the free shipping. The ball mount and the balls I requested and the 2-5/16th ball and the 2" ball were just what I needed. the ball cap for the 2-5/16 ball fit perfect the ball cap for the 2" was really just made for the smaller ball. I would recommend that they make a ball cap for just the 2" ball. Got it to fit but not that well. I will need breaks for my boat trailer after this season and I plan on using etrailer for those parts. will need to call them before I make purchase as Im not sure how to size them up.

by:

Curt makes one of the best product line of equiptment to tow stuff behind your vehicle. The one hitch I got made completely from one piece of steel and the 2 1/2 inch size for class 5's fit perfect in my reciver with out a adapter. I feel very comfortable towing anything with this hitch.

Nice powder coat finish.

As good as the day it was first put into service.

by:

This receiver has performed perfectly for a year. It is a little rough in its finish, but it is solid and I do not have any concerns while towing heavy trailers using this receiver.

by:

I found the Hitch Ball Mounts easily online with etrailer.com where I could not at any local retailers. The items are exactly what I was looking for.
Thanks for your easy online sales process and quick delivery.

by:

Just what I wanted, no stores around carried a compatible item with this load capacity. Jumped onto Etrailer and had it in a few days. Highly recommend Etrailer to anyone who pulls a trailer

by:

Needed a ball mount for a larger trailer. This one is large and makes use of the heavier hitch on my Silverado 2500.

Oh my goodness! I will have our customer service team reach out to you so we can have the ball mount sent out.

Another great experience with etrailer.com. This is my 3 or 4th order with them. All deliveries were faster than expected. Customer service excellent. I've always ordered "national brand" items and pricing has always been better than any local comparison here in the Atlanta area. I always go to them 1st.

Items ordered are just basic trailer parts and tow equipment. Nothing fancy, just basic good products that work as expected.

  • High Capacity Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2008 Ford F-250 for Heavy Boat Trailer
For a trailer hitch with more towing capacity than you'd need the Curt hitch part # C15810 would be an excellent option. This hitch as towing capacities of 20,000 lbs which would work well for you. As long as you are sure you under the truck's capacity still this would allow you to tow your trailer. You should note that this is a 2-1/2 inch hitch so you may need a compatible ball mount like with part # C45456 which also has a 20k capacity. For a hitch ball you'd then want the part # 63840...

The Buyers Products Black Receiver Tube 2" I.D. x 6" Long Welded To 1/2" Mounting Plate # 3371804055 would work as a replacement but won't allow you to use the trailer you are seeking to use due to the height unless you use a drop ball mount like the Draw-Tite Ball Mount for 2" Hitch - 7" Rise, 8" Drop - 9-1/2" Long - 12,000 lbs # 4283. Then you can use the Pin and Clip # PC3 and hitch ball # 19286. If you want a higher towing capacity overall when you include the other components, then...

  • Can Curt Forged Ball Mount be Used in Either Rise or Drop Position
Yes, the Curt Forged Ball Mount, part # C45456, can be used in either the rise or drop position. It provides either a 1/2 inch of rise or 2 inches of drop. I've linked an article to help you determine the amount of rise or drop you need to see if this Curt will work for you. If you also need a hitch ball use part # 63840. A locking hitch pin, like part # e98881, isn't a bad idea either.

  • Recommended Hitch Pin to Work with Curt Forged Ball Mount
We have hitch pins to work with the Curt Forged Ball Mount, part # C45456, however it doesn't include one. I recommend the Curt Pin and Clip, part # C21510, for a standard pin, or even better, part # e98881 for a locking pin. If you also need a compatible hitch ball use part # 63840.

  • What Finish is on the Commercial Duty Curt Forged Ball Mount # 45456?
The Curt Forged Ball Mount for 2-1/2" Hitches - 1/2" Rise - 2" Drop - 20,000 lbs # C45456 does have a more matte black finish to it. Curt calls it Carbide Black and use it on many of their products. Just like other powder coat finishes, it is corrosion-resistant.

  • Ball Mount Recommendation for a 2014 Ford F250 with 2-1/2 inch Hitch
Originally, because the radius at the inside corners of the Ford OEM hitches were more rounded than usual, getting aftermarket hitch accessories that would fit was a problem. Ballmounts could be altered to fit by sanding off the powder coat at the corners. In the meanwhile, Reese has altered the design of the ball mount slightly by rounding the shank edges so that it will be compatible with the Ford OEM 2-1/2 inch receivers. I have confirmed this with Reese. The # RP45323 ballmount should...

  • Selecting a Ball Mount for Use with Curt 2-5/16-Inch Hitch Ball # C40087
The Curt 2-5/16-Inch Hitch Ball with 2-Inch Rise # C40087 requires a ball mount with a ball platform that is at least 3/8-inches thick and that has a 1-1/4-inch ball hole. A ball mount that fits this requirement is the Curt # C45456 that fits into 2-1/2-inch hitches. • Ball Mount Recommendation for a 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500HD with 2-1/2 inch Hitch
I have a solution for you, but the Diversi Tech Ball Mount part # DTLBM8200 is designed to fit 2 inch hitches so it wouldn't work for your truck that has a 2-1/2 inch hitch. For a ball mount confirmed to fit your hitch size with the same amount of drop (2 inches), you would want the Curt Forged Ball Mount part # C45456. This ball mount has a 20k capacity which would be way more than you would need. For a 2-5/16 inch ball you would want part # 63840.

  • Adjustable 2-1/2-Inch Class V Ball Mount
If the top of your hitch ball is about an inch different in height than the top of your coupler this is actually okay. You are 100% correct that it is important to have your hitched trailer level, but starting out with the hitch ball very slightly higher or lower is not a concern. You do not see many fixed ball mounts with 1-inch or rise or drop for this reason. If you wish you can use an adjustable Class V 2-1/2-inch ball mount like # FA49-00-5625.
