Their website is soooo easy to navigate. Type in your make, mode and year of ar and it shows you your options. It was shipped out the next day and I received it two days later. Overall a 10/10 experience. Now I can haul my mountain bike to the trails. Thank you!
The customer service of etrailer is phenomenal. It started when I reached out via email, asking about stock of an item, I got a quick and thorough response and was pleasantly surprised then. Next, such a bulky item shipped quickly and had easily accessible status updates. My trailer arrived on time, earliest potential date but it was too late for my car. I had totaled it within the ordering of the trailer hitch. I was devastated and thrown through the loop by law enforcement, insurance agencies, etc. However, one of the easiest parts of the whole ordeal was returning the trailer hitch, before it had even arrived. The car was no more, I had no use. Etrailer sent me a return slip to print and my return was processed significantly quicker than another part I had ordered through amazon. Etrailer made no business yet went beyond to support me and when the time comes for another car and trailer hitch, I know where I'll turn.
This was pretty easy to install on a 04 accord and has worked well for a bike rack. A little shaky but that is the bike rack’s shortcoming. I hope the hitch I get soon for the Minivan will be as good as this one has been on the accord for bikes.
This thing looked good immediately. Good looking welds, covered completely in black. it doesn't look like just paint; it looks tough; I'm no expert on finishes. It's well-engineered and very precisely made. The directions are good, but I will try to add to them and be helpful. There are illustrations showing where all 5 of those thick rectangular spacers go.
I drove the back of the car up on ramps.
This thing goes on the outside or bottom of the spare tire well. Two of the bolts have rounded heads and a square portion of shank just under the head that go into the square holes in the spacers. The rounded heads are up, so there's nothing really in the way of the spare tire. The third bolt is a standard, longer one and it's used to attach the receiver end to the tow loop on the Accord that you probably don't even know is there unless you've looked under the bumper. Pull up the carpet and take out the space saver tire (might as well check and fill with air; mine was at 22 PSI). Attach that receiver end bar that's at an angle, to the tow loop on the car. Thee are 5 thick metal spacers with a square cut-out. Three of these are used for mounting to the tow loop, to center the hitch, and one, each, is used for the bolts in the spare tire well and go under the square portion of the shank of those bolts. With only the one "regular" bolt attaching the receiver end to the tow loop, the part of the hitch toward the front of the car will drop down due to gravity. I used a block of wood and a scissor jack to hold that end up against the bottom of the spare tire well. I didn't tighten the bolt yet and the part of the hitch on the jack was free to move left or right an inch or two. I very carefully looked at it and visually lined it up as best I could, with the middle of the front of the car, to try to get it as straight as possible. I jacked up the scissor jack until the back of the car actually went up a couple inches to put pressure on it and hold it in place. I had two drills, so this wasn't as bad as it sounds. I used a 1/2 inch bit to make a dimple at one of the bolt holes to mark the center. Then I used a 1/4 inch bit to drill a hole. This is pretty thin sheet metal, not at all hard, and quite easy to drill. I repeated with a 3/8 bit, enlarging the hole. This time I used a 31/64ths bit to finish it and reamed the hole out a little to make a real nice, tight fit for the bolt (instead of going to 1/2 inch). I put that bolt in so the hitch couldn't move at all and repeated the process to drill the hole on the other side. I had some thick EPDM (roofing rubber) laying around. I cut small squares and made a hole in the middle of the squares. I used this instead of sealant to, as the instructions say, "prevent exhaust and water" from getting in the car. I torqued all three of these bolts. Done.
You need something to get the car off the ground enough so you can fit under there. I have a 90 degree angle drill. If you don't have that, the length of your drill and a large bit together (ground clearance) might be a problem unless you get the car high enough. You need, of course, at least a drill and a 1.2 inch bit, preferably a good set of bits. You need TWO heavy-duty setups! The thick spacers in the spare tire well keep those bolts from turning when you torque the nuts under the car. BUT! The bolt attaching the rear of the hitch to the cars tow loop WILL turn as you're trying to tighten the nut! You need something fairly strong to hold that with AND you need something real strong to tighten the nut as you're holding the bolt. I have a torque wrench and I also have a 1/2 inch drive breaker bar that I wedged against something to hold the head of the bolt as I turned. This is VERY tight compared to what you are probably used to. Do whatever it takes to make sure all three of these bolts are tight enough!
Given the way the car is designed, this hitch COULD NOT have been designed better without making it WAY more expensive! This thing, properly installed, is VERY strong! Don't quote me, but I'm pretty sure this thing will hold way more than it's rated for! I'm very happy! (And how can anyone be scared of having to drill two holes???)
Picture One: Without anything in it - way under the car
Picture Two: With a multi-ball quick-change setup in it
Picture Three: In the Spare tire well AFTER installation. The only thing showing is a little piece of the spacer (stiffener, in this case) off to the right of the spare. If you actually look in there, you can see the head of the bolts and the spacers on both sides.
Surprised at how easy it was to install however it doesn’t connect to the cars structural support. Keep that in mind when purchasing. Instead it drills into where your spare tire is kept

This trailer hitch works extreamly well. Its been a year and no issues with it whatsoever.
Perfect for towing a small trailer/load...made well, looks great.
gotten 3 hitches from you with this one and very happy with the product
Took a little long to receive it but was well worth the wait. Easy to install took about 45 min total!
This went on super easy. Mounts right to the rear tow eye and then drilled two holes to mount the last two bolts to make it 3 strong mounting points. Everything lined up perfectly just as the instructions said. Took about 10-15min to complete. Hitch is quality, not cheap thin metal. Came with all hardware as well, only thing you need to do is drill the 2 holes. Very happy. I tow my 14ft fishing boat with it no problem. Thank you etrailer!
Looks well built and arrived "without a hitch". Just kidding. Prompt, wonderful service.

Still getting Excellent service from your Honda trailer hitch hardware.
I have a 05 Honda Accord and not only was this the most affordable option it has been a very great hitch and ball set up. I use my Accord V^ car like a truck with a trailer to make home improvements on my house. This set up has been very dependable and sturdy for the job at hand. Thanks again etrailer for ease and access to great towing products. etrailer has been my "go to" for over 12 years now and I would never shop any where else !
Great product and simple instructions.
Installed easily within the time frame suggested.
Works great to hold my bike rack and tow a small trailer.
The wiring harness was easy to install and instructions were great.
Received product promptly. Part of hitch (arm) was protruding out of the box but there was no damage to the hitch. Installation was straight forward and went quickly. Majority of time spent on alignment of hitch before drilling 2 holes in trunk floor. This was by not fault of the design/hitch. Called Curt support and received professional feedback for tips on aligning. Hitch looks great on my 1998 Honda Accord. Hitch will be used for transporting 4 bikes (hitch style carrier)
Would recommend to friends.
I got caught out of town and needed a hitch and wiring harness for my little Honda Accord. Got Steve on the phone with etrailer.com and he quickly, and effectively zoomed in on what I needed, including a plug n play wiring harness. The items were on their way the next day and delivered by UPS in 2-3 days. I had everything installed within 45 minutess by a local Uhaul dealer, with my supervision. The hitch was USA made which was great. All components fit perfectly and appear to be of excellent quality. The outside etrailer.com packaging of the components was excellent and protected the contents. I will for sure do business with this Misssouri-based company again. Excellent service, knowledge, shipping, and customer service. Thanks very much Steve!
Quality product and best price around. Very easy to install if you follow the instructions. Took less than 30 minutes for me.

Still going strong!! No problems at all.
Great product. When I was reading information about this, I found it was going to take approximately an hour to install and required some drilling. I was hesitant because of the drilling but decided to go on ahead. Well I was ready for a 2 hour installation but was pleasantly surprised it only took me 30 minutes.
This is for my bicycle rack and it works perfectly. After installation, a second concern came up as I was afraid the it was too far back. I mounted the Yakima bike rack and it was perfect. Personally I like it set back some so it is out of the way of my chins.
Installed on my 1998 Honda Accord.
Pretty EZ install, hauls trailer, a little rust inside the tube after 1 year. I keep the drawbar out when not in use so as not to rust weld in place
Very easy to install! Curt hitches are great. But for this car it needed an extension for my bike rack to work effectively.
A very competitive price and the installation went better than expected in the estimated time. I installed it on a 2007 Honda Accord and I would have preferred it to come back about 2 more inches as it is well under the rear bumper. I also installed the 118302 wiring harness and was pleased with the ease of its installation though I had to view the instructional video again to find the third connector which was snuggly taped in place. Overall I am well pleased with etrailer and expecially their instruction videos and it was delivered before the stated time.
haven't put the hitch on yet. nice hitch heavy duty. been putting the bike rack together and making space in the garage to hang it on the wall. thank you for all the help
This is the second one I purchase from e-trailer. I'm very happy with the quality of the product as well as feedback regarding the order status.
Came sooner than expected. Very satisfied. This is the second hitch I have bought from trailer
