Removing Muffler From Hangers to Install Curt Class I Hitch Part # C11290 on 1999 Honda Accord
Question:
I want to buy the Draw Tite # 24791 hitch ! Do I have to remove any of the exhaust system to install the hitch ? My car is a 1999 Honda Accord .

Expert Reply:
As long as the exhaust is located in the stock position, you do not have to remove any exhaust components. To allow easier access to the mounting location, the rubber isolators that the muffler hangs from will need to be temporarily removed from the pins that they hang from. Once the hitch is in place the fasteners torqued to the correct rating, the muffler is re installed onto the hangers.
I will include a link to the installation instructions, which will make this a bit clearer.
