The extra mounting pocket makes the unit transportable from vehicle to vehicle. I have multiple tow vehicles. It saves the cost of having a controller in each vehicle. Simply unplug and pop out of the pocket and pop in other vehicle. This way your using a controller that your used to and it's functions. Great product

by:

Forgot to remove this from the old truck so needed to order a new one for the new truck. Exactly as expected and great service as usual from Etrailer.

by:

now that i have this 4 way and 7 way plug i can tow anything. It makes my vehicle more versatile.

by:

A great way to expand the use of your brake controller if you plan on using it in only one vehicle at a time. Saved a lot of money over purchasing a second unit.

by:

Great way to use your controller in 2 vehicles!

by:

I purchased this mounting pocket for holding the Tekonsha P2 brake controller in a second tow vehicle, as the controller is easily transferred between vehicles. I have installed the pocket and used the trailer brake controller now in the second vehicle. It works just like the one in the first vehicle!

I have this pocket currently installed in three vehicles. Although occasionally the connectorharness falls out when not connected, otherwise things work fine. It is just a little difficult to disconnect, but otherwise fine.

by:

Having an extra pocket mount allows me to move my Prodigy from one tow vehicle to another.

by:

The product is excellent but etrailer is AWSOME. I have been a customer for years-trailer itches, wiring packages etc. the ordering is flawless, shipping and packaging is excellent and the tutorials are well done and helpful.

A year later and all is working well. ETRAILER IS GREAT. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

by:

Holder worked just as it should. It took a few minutes to decide just where to mount it as I wanted to be sure I would not have to move it. I am particular about my truck. It is a 2006 sierra that I don't ever plan to replace. So I don't want any extra holes. Etrailer is the best. If I ever need anything else trailer related I definitely know where to go. I tell all my friends I also bought a wiring harness for my wife's pathfinder. It worked perfectly. Nissan makes it very difficult to find the plug-in, but that is another story.

by:

Excellent quality and strength. Why skimp on something as important as your hitch? I have purchased three of these Draw Tites - I guess a repeat customer will scream about the true quality a company can garner from repeat customers. When you pull show cars worth six figures, you can't afford a poorly made hitch.
Step up, step out, and don't fret what you are pulling.

by:

The items I ordered were delivered promptly and were exactly as ordered. In addition, installation instructions were included and the instructions were more detailed than I was able to find from any other source.
I purchased a new pickup truck that came equipped with a tow package. I tow a two horse trailer with electric brakes. Since the truck manufacturer doesn't know what kind of trailer you have, the vehicle wasn't equipped with an inertia brake controller.
It does have the input plug, however. So I had to get a mounting bracket and attachment cable so I could move my controller from my old vehicle to my new one.
I simply ordered a mounting bracket and cable and these items arrived a few days ago.
I will be installing them soon. So, I'm satisfied with the service from etrailer.

by:

Pretty straight forward purchase of an accessory for my Prodigy brake booster. But, as usual, etrailer had just what I needed. These mounting pockets give your installation a nice clean look, and with the wiring harness exiting out the back, it's easy to keep it out of sight and out of the way. I bought this one so that I can easily move my brake booster between either of my two F250's. One suggestion. Check your manual before you order coming make sure that you have a suitable place to mount this product. There are specific limits for angle and tilt beyond which your Prodigy booster will not work.

by:

Product works great. Installation very easy.
etrailer delivery time was a bit extreme. I ordered from etrailer on the recommendation from a friend. It took 7 weeks to receive my brake cable. Upon further research I could have gotten it in 3 days from another dealer. etrailer never called or emailed to explain delivery situation until I contacted them for an update. Product great. Service not so much.

by:

As this order is only for replacement parts lost due to totaling my truck I can only review the service and availability of replacement parts. I found etrailer to be a tremendous asset for such items. I expected to have to buy a complete new brake controller but etrailer had the parts I needed to use my original controller. Saved my a bunch of money and the salesperson understood what I needed and helped me with the order. Very nice person.

by:

There actually is very little to say as the mounting bracket is an OEM product. I needed the mounting bracket because one cold day when the temperature was below zero, I entered my truck and my knee hit the cold bracket and it cracked. It was brittle because of very cold temperatures. It would be much better if the bracket were more tolerant of cold temperatures. With that being said, what is special about etrailer.com is the wide variety of replacement parts. I very much appreciate their vast inventory so the consumer can quickly and with minimal cost, purchase broken or missing parts.

by:

Easy install with the factory wiring for easy installation of the brake controller in the Flex.

by:

installation was easy, I have never used it, but I have it just in case

by:

Worked like a charm! Had to remove some of the lower dash to reach the connection, but a video helped with that. Plugged in the pigtail to my brake controller, and viola - brakes, and lights, for my trailer!

by:

Well packed, delivered on time and exactly as pictured. Thanks!

by:

Exact fit for my Prodigy 2 controller. It took us longer to decide on a placement than it did to install it. The pocket I received did not come with mounting screws but that was not a big deal as I was planning on using Phillips bolts with washers and locking nuts for the install.

by:

I called to ensure that I was actually ordering the right wiring harness for my truck and was going to order online. The guy I spoke with told me online orders were shipping in 48 hours but if I gave him my order, he'd get it out the same day! Got my order very quickly and customer service was great. I will DEFINITELY order from etrailer.com again. Thanks!

by:

I already owned the Tekonsha Prodigy controller so all I needed is new wiring and a mounting bracket. Each item is original and was delivered as promised. It is great to do business with "etrailer.com."

by:

good product, does what it is designed to do. It would be nice if the slot design in the front aligned better with the screw / mounting holes on the back side. Easily solved by enlarging the area toward the outside edges to access the wider mounting holes

by:

It holds the brake controller fine but the harness does not stay attached to the pocket when I go to use the brake controller in my other truck, so the harness falls to right where the feet are. There should be a clip that locks harness to pocket holder.other than that is works fine.

by:

I really like the slide in option for the P2 controller I bought for my truck. Having this option allowed us to set up my wife's Grand Cherokee for the few times we use it to haul the trailer. Just wish it was designed so the connection was made when sliding the controller in instead of having the pull the cable through which looks sloppy when the controller isn't in the Jeep.

No, I am sorry it will not. We've had a couple reviews of some customers trying to fit the P3 in the Mounting Pocket for Tekonsha Prodigy Proportional Brake Controller item # 7686 and it does not fit. The only mounting bracket that fits the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 item # 90195 is included with the brake controller. If you need another one it is the Replacement Mounting Bracket Kit for Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller item # TK5906.

I'd love to sell you two controllers, but not if you only really need one. For a controller, I'd recommend either the Tekonsha Prodigy P2, part # 90885 or the P3, part # 90195.
