Hopkins Accessories and Parts - HM47845

  • Trailer Brake Controller
  • Wiring Adapter
  • Plugs into Brake Controller
  • Hopkins
  • Vehicle Specific

Designed for your vehicle with a factory tow package, this wiring harness plugs into the quick-connect harness located under your dashboard and into your Hopkins Agility, Impulse, Reliance or BrakeForce brake controller for easy installation.

Features:

  • Connects your Hopkins brake controller to your vehicle's factory tow package
    • 1 Plug is inserted into the back of your electric brake control
    • 1 Plug is inserted into the factory-installed port under your dashboard
  • Requires no cutting or splicing wires for installation - just plug and play
  • Works with Hopkins Plug-In Simple brake controllers (Agility, Impulse, Reliance and BrakeForce)
  • 90-Day limited warranty

Tech Tip: The OEM plug in your vehicle is located under the dashboard to the right of the steering column, behind the black pocket in the dash.

This brake-control wiring adapter will simplify the installation of your Hopkins electric brake controller. Once the brake controller is installed, the harness then plugs into a port under the dash. Because your vehicle has a factory tow package, all the wires for the brake controller have already been run from the 7-way trailer connector at the back of the truck to the plug under the dash. If your vehicle does not have a factory 7-way, additional wiring will be necessary to complete installation.

The item i clicked on was correct and the picture was accurate but i received this part for a newer truck which i can get in any store. I'm not paying one dime for return shipping. I found etrailer and thought it would be a good deal because i install hitches brake controllers and build trailers. But never again. No way in hell would i select the wrong part. Something happened on etrailers end not mine. 14bucks for return shipping in insane. When it's only a few bucks. But still etrail er should take care of it. I can order it on ebay cheaper with free shipping cheaper than the return price to etrailer. Be careful

According to the information provided, you have a 2006 Ford F-150. For that vehicle, youd need the # HM47715 harness. The harness you purchased is for 2009 and newer F-150 models.

Etrailer was the only Co. that had the harness I needed to attach my plug and play trailer brake to my truck. I needed right away, and it was delivered in record time. Thank you

by:

Easy install, watched etrailer video to find best way to get to factory plug. Made a custom bracket and mounted slide and led where factory controller is supposed to go. Don't use just db tape to mount the main unit use screws. Last thing you want is it flopping in your feet while on the road.

  • Plug In Simple Adapter For A Hopkins Insight Flex Brake Controller On A 2018 Ford F-150
For your Hopkins Insight Flex Mount to be installed on your 2018 Ford F-150, you will want to use the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Brake-Control Wiring Adapter # HM47845. Once installed, connect your trailer and test drive on a dry open area at a low speed (20-25mph), and apply vehicle brakes aggressively.

  • Installing Brake Controller And Wiring Harness On 2015 Ford Flex Without Factory Tow Package
I have attached a drawing that shows how the wires are run for the # ETBC7 and brake controller wiring. There is no plug-in adapter available for a brake controller for your Flex with no factory towing package so it will be a hardwire installation. I called my contact at Tekonsha and they said the plug you sent the photo of is not the connector used for a brake controller. You will need to use the circuit tester that came with the # ETBC7 to test the wires on your Flex. The red wire from...

  • 2008 Ford F-250 Will Not Start or Crank After Installing Hopkins Brake Controller
First let's make sure you are using the proper brake controller wiring harness for your 2008 Ford F-250. For a Hopkins brake controller you should be using # HM47855. It would not hurt to make sure that it is also plugged into the correct plug on your truck. I am fairly certain there is only one though but it never hurts to make sure. If your truck came with a brake controller pigtail from Ford and you hardwired the controller to it then the wire colors would not match up between the controller...

Brake controller wiring harness # HM47845 is the correct harness for a 2012 Ford F-150 XLT and a Hopkins Reliance brake controller. I have linked a video showing installation of a different controller and harness on a 2012 F-150 but it will be the same with the Hopkins parts on your truck.

  • Troubleshooting Installation of Hopkins Impulse Trailer Brake Controller in 2006 Ford F-250 SD
If your Hopkins Impulse Time-Delayed Trailer Brake Controller # 47235 was installed using a quick-connect harness rather than being hardwired, then I would start the troubleshooting process by applying a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to each pin on your F-250's 7-way. Disconnect your trailer and have a helper on hand activate the brake controller while you apply the tester to the 7-way on your truck. By disconnecting the trailer, you will first confirm that the unit is functioning independent...

We had the chance to install the very popular Prodigy P3 brake controller part # 90195 on a 2020 Ford Transit T250 which I attached an install video for that will walk you through the entire process. The P3 is one of the best controllers due to how well it works, how reliable it is, and it's full screen display that uses complete words instead of two digit codes like other controllers have. There are no aftermarket brake controllers designed to mount in the OEM slot. However, I recommend going with the Hopkins InSIGHT Flex-Mount Trailer Brake Controller.
