2017 GMC Acadia

Works as it should. Strong hitch. The only problem was figuring out how and where to mount the electrical plug as I didn’t want it to show below the hitch. Our Acadia has a cover that makes the hitch hidden when not in use. An electrical plug hanging down below the hitch was not going to make anything hidden . Then getting the right electrical cord for our car was a problem and had to reorder to get the correct one. As we bought the Acadia used, unbeknownst to me, there must have been a hitch on the vehicle by a prior owner but was removed and the prewired electrical connection left open, which caused corrosion in the outlet. That was a real pain to get to and then had to get it cleaned out as it wasn’t making a good connection to the new electrical connections for the plug outlet. Overall I am extremely pleased with the results as everything is working perfectly and I feel very confident that it will work perfectly for a very long time. Mounting the hitch to the vehicle was the easiest part of the whole installation. Etrailer.com’s video on how to install the hitch was a big help. I would definitely recommend this hitch to anyone who wants to save several hundred dollars and are able to install it themselves.

2012 Chevrolet Traverse

I could not be more pleased with this hitch. I bought a similar product from the large river women website and it came missing bolts. This one came with everything needed to install. Installed on a 2012 Chevy Traverse. Had no problem with the screws going in and some people have said the disconnection of the exhaust was difficult I had no problem disconnecting and reconnecting. I'd say the most difficult part was getting the bolts in for the back part since my bumper did not have pre-installed bolts for the back part. But other than that everything went smooth and definitely recommend.

Arrived fast. This stow away hitch for my 2014 Buick Enclave went on with ease! The factory hitch cover in the rear fascia still goes on and you can’t see the hitch. The wire harness also was a direct plug and play. Absolutely zero complaints or issues from me.

by:
2012 Buick Enclave

Fit was perfect. Took about 30 - 40 minutes to install without removing the muffler hangers using a 3/4 in ratchet wrench, by myself. Be sure to install all 6 bolts before tightening. You will have to drop the muffler off the rubber hangers to get a torq wrench on the side bolts. My center bolts did not have the weld nuts so I had to use the supplied carriage bolts an the fish wires, which they sent 2 as you'll most likely not be able to re use them. The square side holes had just enough clearance to get the bolts in without molesting them but just enough & only after finding the absolute correct position then pull them through with the fish wire. A bit tricky but just take your time. The 2 extra bolts & conical washers are for in case you have the factory center weld nuts, not extras. On a scale of 1 - 10, 1 being easiest and 10 being hardest, this quality Curt hitch was probably a 2 or 3. Pretty easy in my opinion. Would have been a solid 2 if you didn't have to move the mufflers down about an inch to get a torq wrench in there. Thanks etrailer for a well built quality product with straight forward instructions. Now on to the wiring, review to follow...

Yes the curt trailer hitch reliever was easy to install as you said that it would be. I was pushed for time and had to do it at night in the cold weather, but it was done in time to pick-?? my uhaul to load and head to Pittsburgh the next day. Thank you for sending it out so soon. Your website was easy to use. Product was just what I needed for my 2012 Enclave.

I got my son to install the hitch and wiring for me. Everything fit perfectly and the bumper hitch cover on my 2015 Buick Enclave still fit fine. I am sending photos of the hitch installed and and wth the hitch cover hiding it.

Everything about this job was great- from selecting a hitch and wiring harness online to the free shipping to the installation, which was perfectly matched to the vehicle! Thanks etrailer!! Awesome company!!

2016 GMC Acadia

The trailer hitch mount was crushed in a violent 4 car pile up. The good news is that it absorb the crash and save my auto (brand new ) for extensive damage and protected my 3 granddaughters that were riding with me.

by:
2010 Chevrolet Traverse

Installation wasn't bad, and pretty much what the instructions said for a 2010 Traverse LS. The hardest part was probably chasing the rust out of the threads in the mounting holes since the road salt hadn't been kind to them and I bought it used. Lots of penetrating oil and going back and forth on the bolts to get them to thread in. I did need to grind the access holes slightly to get the heads of the mounting bolts through. I had better luck putting the spacers in place first, then threading the fish wire through the spacer and the mounting hole to pull the bolts in place. There's enough room to get the bolts past each other in the channel. Leave the fish wires attached to the bolts until the hitch is in place. Removing the muffler hangers will make it much easier to get to the mounting bolts on. All told, it took me probably 1.5 hours, but I was working by myself, and the first half hour was spent just getting the mounting holes clear.

by:

Good quality bolted on without issue nice install kit!

by:

The hitch is excellent quality.
Due
to corrosion in the vehicle (2017) from road salt I did have to run a tap through the factory threads to clean them out before the bolt would even think about going in, wire brush would not cut it. M12-1.75 tap is what you will need.

I'm so happy i choose etrailer to buy the hitch tow package fits properly and looks awesome

by:
2017 Buick Enclave

Received via UPS quickly and well packaged. Took me about 45 minutes to install, and was simple to do. I was fearful of having to fish the bolt, but it worked flawlessly with the included wire. My torque wrench wouldn’t fit in the furthest bolt (I only took one exhaust suspension off in each side), but I’m confident it’s to the specification with a normal long handled driver.

2016 Chevrolet Traverse

Fit well. Installed easily.

by:

Hitch was very easy to install and fit perfect with most of it not showing. Directions were simple, easy to read and follow. I decided to trim the plastic panel and replace it around the receiver for a more finished look.

by:

The order came fast and as ordered. Although there was no damage to my order, the box was badly damaged, probably due to the weight of the hitch inside a cardboard box. I think some sort of internal padding/bubble wrapping could prevent future damage claims. However, I would definitely order again.

by:

Great product after a year of use; simple and clear instructions to install.

2015 Buick Enclave

I purchased this hitch for my enclave. the etrailer site allowed me to just enter my vehicle details and it told me which one i need and provided a video and picture of how it worked and looked. Great site, easy to use and the hitch was excellent and sturdy as well. I decided in the end not to put it on as it is in the high 90's here in Florida. Just didn't feel like crawling under the truck. However I did talk to the mechanic shop that installed it for me and they said it is one of the easier after market hitches and wiring kits they ever installed. I used Christian Brothers Automotive in North Port Fl who were just fantastic as well.

2017 Buick Enclave

I purchased this product to install on my 2017 Buick Enclave as we were going on vacation to the beach and the vehicle was not equipped with a hitch so we could use our rear rack that requires a hitch receiver. I watched a video online and that made this product was very to install. Probably took less than an hour. Very satisfied.

  • Tow Ready Wiring Bracket Recommendation for a Curt Hitch on a 2012 Buick Enclave
You would want to purchase a Tow Ready Mounting Bracket # 18144 to go with the Curt Hitch # 13424 as it does not come with a bracket to mount the trailer wiring. For a no drill option for a mounting bracket check out the # 18140. Unfortunately you could not reuse the trim cover to cover the hitch when not in use. The hitch protrudes too far out the back of the vehicle in order for the cover to be reinstalled. Check out the installation instructions and installation video that I attached...

It is highly likely the bumper cover will be able to be put back on your 2010 GMC Acadia after installing the etrailer.com Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98863, though there are some occasions which it has not been able to. • How to Fix Exhaust Rattle After Trailer Hitch Install

  • Selecting Ball Mount for 2-Inch Class III Hitch on 2009 GMC Acadia
If your choice of ball mount rise or drop means being a little high on the Acadia side this is usually preferable to the trailer being higher. With any trailer and vehicle there will always be a bit of vehicle rear-end squat from the trailer's tongue weight (TW). This means that if the hitch ball is a bit taller than the level trailer's coupler this is okay since this greater height on the vehicle side will offset the squat. Please refer to the linked article on ball mounts for more information...
