Selecting Ball Mount for 2-Inch Class III Hitch on 2009 GMC Acadia

Question:

For a class III hitch if Im literally in between a 2inch and a 3-1/4inch which way should I go? Thank you.

If your choice of ball mount rise or drop means being a little high on the Acadia side this is usually preferable to the trailer being higher. With any trailer and vehicle there will always be a bit of vehicle rear-end squat from the trailer's tongue weight (TW). This means that if the hitch ball is a bit taller than the level trailer's coupler this is okay since this greater height on the vehicle side will offset the squat.

Hitch options for your 2009 GMC Acadia include two Class III 2-inch hitches from Draw-Tite and Curt, parts # 75528 and # 13424. Between these two hitches I suggest the Draw-Tite since it offers a higher weight rating of 750-lbs of tongue weight. This hitch installs without drilling as shown in the linked video.
