product from Pollak is always great but they packed it with steel couplers and destroyed it

It is a direct OEM replacement, easy installation. What I liked most was a real person answered my call and took my order, Katherine was very polite and knowledgeable. Thanks again. CJ

No issues at all.

Worked out awesome. I bought this for a buddy for his used truck. The previous owners for what ever reason took it. Plugged it in and worked flawlessly.

by:
2004 Nissan Titan

The 3 star rating is because this is not a direct replacement for a Nissan Armada. I bought this to replace the original socket on a 2004 Nissan armada. The hitch on the car says it is a Nissan hitch. I did not notice that the original socket mounted as a twist lock type and the bracket had no mounting screws when I ordered this socket. In defense of the manufacture and distributor of this socket the description did not say it was a direct replacement for an armada the assumption would be that the hitch would be the same as a titan. This was no big deal for me since I had a drill and bits to drill mounting holes and used # 8 sheet metal screws. Just have to be careful to drill the holes the right size so they self thread properly. I have been looking to see if there is a direct replacement for the original socket but can't seem to find one not even on Nissan's parts web site so I guess you just have to do what I did. I didn't think to take a video of the installation but I have included a picture of the finished install.

The transaction went great. Delivered on the time I was told good product

by:

It fit perfect and was literally plug and play.

by:

I had to replace the socket in my truck after I forgot to disconnect the plug when setting up my camper 1 year ago. Since then, I've connected the camper 35 times and pulled it over 6,000 miles. I have had no issues at all with the new socket.

2016 Porsche Cayenne

It fit right up to my 2016 Porsche Cayenne diesel. A very simple installation.

by:

Perfect OEM quality!!!

by:

Still working after a year. Performs as expected. Easy to install.

by:

This is it!! If you have a Porsche Cayenne with a tow package (mine's a 2017) and you're wondering why the wiring "connector" that came from the factory is just a plate with nothing to plug in to... This is the thing you need! It fits the holes in the mounting bracket perfectly and plugs right into the harness coming out of the car (after you carefully release the little clip holding the clip connecting the plate to the harness (no, that's not a typo). I also purchased a matching 7 to 4-pin adapter, so I can easily connect to either. And etrailer had it all... and made it easy. Quick shipping, just as promised. Love e-Trailer! :)

by:

Easy to install and has worked every si nce

1995 Ford F-250 Super Duty

After redoing my trailer wiring harness to put a socket in the bed of my 1995 F250, I used this to replace the old socket in my bumper. Saved me having to do more splicing and hard wiring in the old socket.

After a year of use, this is still working great. I don’t use it a lot as most of my towing is of the 5th wheel using the in-bed connector.

2000 Toyota Tundra

Hi, I am a ASE Certified Automotive technician for 30-plus years. I have to say these parts are Factory quality, the option for Direct Fit everything plugs right into the wiring harnesses fits as if they came as original equipment with the vehicle and the same quality. When ordering parts if you call and speak to an operator that extremely helpful and actually know what's going on. And their tech support this extremely knowledgeable.

by:
2008 Porsche Cayenne

This is the original plug and play. For VW SUV's this does the trick. I recommend using some anti-seize on the bolts that secure this into the mount. I have this on both an Audi and a Porsche both work great. The picture shows what the car some with so you simply plug this unit into the factory socket and secure with 4 machine screws.

by:

Nice fit to my factory harness. This was a replacement for the factory hitch mount. I decided to drill a hole and mount in the bumper like I’ve seen on other vehicles. This makes for a convenient and protected location.

by:

Wrong Pollak product. needed Pollak 12-705 6-24 volts Female (truck)

by:
2015 Audi Q7

The right adapter, fits Audi q7 factory tow package. 1/3 the price of Audi part. Fast shipping, etrailer is the place for reasonably priced trailer parts.
Thanks George

  • Trailer Right Turn Signal Not Working when Connected to a 2004 Chevy Suburban 2500
To determine if the problem is on the trailer or truck, you can disconnect the trailer and use a circuit tester such as # PTW2993 (if you don't already have one or a meter) and test the connector on your truck to see if it has power with the right turn signal on. If it does, then the issue is on the trailer. If it does not, then the issue is on your 2004 Chevy Suburban; likely a blown tow package fuse. In your Suburban the right trailer turn/brake light fuse is located in the in-cab panel...

  • Installing 7-way Connector on 2003 Ford Explorer with Factory Tow Package
If you'll follow the wiring from your 4 pole trailer connector back under the vehicle, you'll find it plugs into a connector on the driver's side frame rail. Just past where it plugs in, remove the tape or wire loom from the wiring harness. You should see an orange (or red) and a dark blue wire. The orange wire carries a trailer power circuit from the battery, and the blue wire connects to where you plugged the controller in to carry the braking voltage to the trailer brakes. You'll need...

I have also attached a drawing that shows where the wires need to be run from the adapter you can check out. As the attached video shows, you may have a harness on the driver side up along the frame rail you can splice the blue wire and the black wire into the wires on the vehicle. For additional blue wire if needed, I recommend part # 10-1-1, which...

If you remove the factory 7-Way (if you haven't already) does the wiring harness that plugs into the back of it have a round connector or square? If it is round, you could use # PK11893. If it is a square connector though you would need to hardwire in a trailer connector such as # HM40975-11998. To do this you would have to cut the square connector off and use a circuit tester such as # PTW2993 or a meter if you have one to test the wires on the vehicle side to determine their functions....

To change your 7-way round pin connector on your vehicle to a 7-way blade connector the wire connections are different. The best way to connect the wires on your vehicle to the 7-way blade connector is to use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993, and to test the wires for function. It is confusing to try to wire by color because the wire colors can vary. I can tell you what function goes to what location on the 7-way blade connector on the vehicle. If your 2005 GMC Sierra 2500 came with a factory installed 7-Way trailer connector then you will just need an adapter to plug in the 5-Way flat connector from the trailer. You can use adapter # A75TB. If your truck does not have the factory 7-Way, you would first need to install # HM40975 and then use...

A 6-Way trailer connector can be pinned in 2 different ways. The center pin can either be 12 volt power or trailer brakes. You will need to determine which way your trailer is wired up and then make sure the adapter you have is wired up the same way. Next, for the power wire, you will need to make sure that the red wire is connected to the closest positive post on the power distribution box.
