To change your 7-way round pin connector on your vehicle to a 7-way blade connector the wire connections are different.
The best way to connect the wires on your vehicle to the 7-way blade connector is to use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993, and to test the wires for function. It is confusing to try to wire by color because the wire colors can vary.
I can tell you what function goes to what location on the 7-way blade connector on the vehicle. The back of the 7-way blade vehicle connector will have numbers marked on the connector for the location of each wire. Starting with the number 1 location at the bottom right and going clockwise the order is:
#1 location is for white (ground) wire.
#2 location is for blue (brake controller output) wire
#6 location is for green (right turn and brake) wire
#4 location is for black (12V battery power) wire
#3 location is for brown (taillights) wire
#5 location is for yellow (left turn and brake) wire
the middle location is for purple (reverse light) wire
If you are just wanting the 7-way blade connector you can use the Pollak Vehicle End 7-Way, # PK11893. This connector will be wired as mentioned above.
I am sending links to trailer wiring and pictures of both the 7-way round pin vehicle connector and 7-way blade vehicle connector. The pictures will show what wire functions go to what location on the connector.
