This vehicle-end trailer connector gives you the functionality of a 7-way, but without any pins or blades to bend or break. It's designed to work with a matching EZ Connector plug (sold separately) to create a secure, watertight connection that lasts. Strong magnets in both the plug and the socket keep the connection tight and secure, even when you're driving on rough terrain. Built-in O-rings on the dummy plug create a seal to keep out water and debris while the connector is not in use. And spring-loaded, face-to-face electrical contacts are long-lasting and easy to clean. These factors combine for a strong, durable connection that's easy to use and to maintain.

Magnetic Plugs Stay Connected

The EZ Connector system uses magnets inside the plug and socket to hold the connectors together. Simply insert the trailer-end plug (sold separately) into this vehicle-end socket and the internal magnets will snap them together, no latch needed. To disconnect, just pull the plug out by hand.

Magnet

This is an improvement over typical trailer connectors, which rely on a plastic latch on the socket lid to hold the trailer plug in place. With any trailer connector it can be easy to forget to disconnect the wiring when you unhook your trailer. If you drive off without disconnecting a standard 7-way plug, the connector will get pulled out of the socket, likely tearing off the lid. Without a lid, the electrical terminals are exposed to damaging moisture and debris. But if you forget to remove the EZ Connector plug when unhooking your trailer, the plug will simply disconnect from the receptacle as you drive off.

The magnet inside of this trailer connector is made of neodymium, an extra-strong, rare-earth alloy. This high-quality magnet ensures a tight connection between the connectors that is stable enough to make it through intense bumps and road vibration.

Silicon O-Ring Creates Watertight Seal

O-rings

The EZ Connector trailer-end plug (sold separately) has a double O-ring that will create a seal when it's inserted into this connector. When the socket is not in use, just insert the included dummy plug, which also has a double O-ring, into the connector. This ensures that the terminals on this vehicle-end socket stay protected from moisture and debris at all times.

All of the EZ Connector systems have earned a perfect score on the SAE water submersion test. This means that the seal created on this connector, either with the dummy plug or with the EZ Connector trailer-end plug, will stay watertight, even if the connector is completely submerged in water for extended periods of time.

No Pins or Blades to Bend or Break

Contacts

This EZ Connector socket has spring-loaded, face-to-face electrical contacts instead of pins or blades. Pins and blades can bend, corrode, and even break off, which can lead to a permanently damaged connection. With the EZ Connector system, there are no pins or blades to bend or break. Because there are no pins or blades, there are also no pin sockets on the trailer-end plug (sold separately) that can trap debris. And if any dirt or debris does collect on the terminals of either end of an EZ Connector setup, it can be quickly and easily wiped away. No more scraping pins to get grime off. The result of all of this is a quality, effective connection every time you plug in.

Speaker 1: Today we're going to take a look at the Easy Connector Vehicle and Magnetic Seven Way Trailer Connector with a built in seal. Now this seven way trailer connector will install at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights. It is compatible with four pin, five pin, and six pin easy connector adapters that we do sell separately on our website. Now on this connector in the very middle is this powerful inaudible 00:00:20 magnet. It'll join with the magnet in the easy connector trailer end plug that we sell separately and it keeps the connection secure. The plugs stay tightly connected despite any bumps or vibrations that are common with towing. If you look on the inside here, there's seven flat face to face floating spring loaded electric contacts.

There's no pins or blades to bend or break. This eliminates the concern about electric arcing and inaudible 00:00:44 pins and the contacts are very easy to clean when necessary. This is ideal for marine applications. The marine grade wiring helps resist water damage. Very simple installation, you just hard wire this to your existing wiring. The dummy O ring seal plug right here, which is included.

This helps keep moisture and debris out of the socket. It also has a magnet on it and you can see when you get it closed, it'll automatically attach. To pull it apart it does take quite a bite of strength to pull it apart and that would be the same way with you trailer end connector when you go to plug it into here, it would be the same way, that magnet keeps it connected. Now the connector fits into the factory socket mounting location on most newer vehicles. They do include a standard mounting bracket and they do sell adapter brackets that are also available, we do sell those separately on our website. This part will include everything shown here, the vehicle side socket with the cable attached, the dummy O ring plug, the butt connectors to make your wire connections, heavy duty cable ties and inaudible 00:01:41 ring tubing, and a nice set of installation instructions.

This part is made it the USA and just to give you an idea the length on this . Cable length on this is about two feet long. But that should do it for the review on the easy connector vehicle and magnetic seven way trailer connector with the built in seal.

This is a nice product. After one year, it still holds tight. Just remember to put the plug all the time to avoid dirt coming in. Use the dielectric grease on the plug side surface to avoid O ring becoming dry out.

The EZ Connector is a huge improvement over the standard type. In my experience it has one vulnerability - metal shavings. Keep the protective cover on when it's not in use and be careful when doing any grinding or drilling nearby.

by:

I had struggled with poor connector mating and fit with the standard connector until I changed to the EZ Connector Magnetic system. It's like a trailer sized Apple Magsafe connector. Mating is instantaneous and rock solid. In a perfect world every trailer connector would be an EZ Connector. My only gripe is that the mounting bracket would not stick down as far as it does. If they offered a minimum height connector bracket as an option it would be nice for those of us pulling trailers with passenger car SUVs and not pickup trucks with way more ground clearance.

We have 6 trucks with this same Ez connector Magnetic 7-way connector, The ones that come on the trucks stock were always breaking and having loose connections and lights not working properly, since we started using these on our trucks back in 2009 we have not had an issue with them breaking or not working. Highly recommend these trailer plugs, it might be the last one you need to buy!
They had great service along the way as well, keeping me up to date through email about when the item was shipped with tracking info and even followed up with an email once delivered.

The Ez connector trailer plug is still working great, I think I mentioned in the review but we use these on all of our eight company trucks and we love them, we used to have a lot of problems with the old 7 pin hook up for the trailer lights and now we dont with the ez connector. Thanks for reaching out after a year.

Worked great for my RV towing

After getting the wires correctly connected on the truck and automobile, this item works excellently. With the adapter for use with other trailers, I can tow other trailers.

Excellent

by:

I installed an EZ connector on the rear of my RV and another on the front of my Jeep Wrangler. Now, when I tow the Jeep while RVing, I never have to worry about the taillights, brake-lights, or turn signals because EZ connectors are the most reliable trailer electrical connector period.

by:

I haven't had a chance to install them but the product quality looks to be supreme!. Also the the entire ordering experience was great & it shipped the same day. Customer service was excellent. Thank you etrailer!!
