This trailer-end connector gives you the functionality of a 7-way, but without any pins or blades to bend or break. It's designed to work with a matching EZ Connector socket (sold separately) to create a secure, watertight connection that lasts. Strong magnets in both the plug and the socket keep the connection tight and secure, even when you're driving on rough terrain. Built-in O-rings create a seal to keep out water and debris. And spring-loaded, face-to-face electrical contacts are long-lasting and easy to clean. These factors combine for a strong, durable connection that's easy to use and to maintain.

Magnetic Plugs Stay Connected

The EZ Connector system uses magnets inside the plug and socket to hold the connectors together. Simply insert this trailer-end plug into the vehicle-end socket (sold separately) and the internal magnets will snap them together, no latch needed. To disconnect, just pull the plug out by hand.

This is an improvement over typical trailer connectors, which rely on a plastic latch on the socket lid to hold the trailer plug in place. With any trailer connector it can be easy to forget to disconnect the wiring when you unhook your trailer. If you drive off without disconnecting a standard 7-way plug, the connector will get pulled out of the socket, likely tearing off the lid. Without a lid, the electrical terminals are exposed to damaging moisture and debris. But if you forget to remove the EZ Connector plug when unhooking your trailer, the plug will disconnect from the receptacle as you drive off. And because there's no latch on the socket's lid to get in the way, the lid will automatically close to cover the terminals.

Magnet

The magnet inside of this trailer connector is made of neodymium, an extra-strong, rare-earth alloy. This high-quality magnet ensures a tight connection between the connectors that is stable enough to make it through intense bumps and road vibration.

Silicon O-Rings Create Watertight Seal

This trailer plug has 2 silicon O-rings that create a watertight seal when the plug is inserted into the vehicle-end socket (sold separately).

Plug Holder

A storage holder is included to keep the plug safe and dry when it's not in use. This holder conveniently attaches to your trailer so that it is always available when you need it. Simply plug in the connector, and the plug's O-rings will create a watertight seal with the holder, just as they do with the vehicle-end socket. This ensures that the terminals on this trailer-end plug stay protected from moisture and debris at all times.

All of the EZ Connector systems have earned a perfect score on the SAE water submersion test. This means that the seal created on this connector, either with the plug holder or with the EZ Connector vehicle-end socket, will stay watertight, even if the connector is completely submerged in water for extended periods of time.

No Pins or Blades to Bend or Break

Contacts

This EZ Connector plug has spring-loaded, face-to-face electrical contacts instead of pins or blades. Pins and blades can bend, corrode, and even break off, which can lead to a permanently damaged connection. With the EZ Connector system, there are no pins or blades to bend or break. Because there are no pins or blades, there are also no pin sockets on this connector that can trap debris. And if any dirt or debris does collect on the terminals of either end of an EZ Connector setup, it can be quickly and easily wiped away. No more scraping pins to get grime off. The result of all of this is a quality, effective connection every time you plug in.

I replaced the standard 7-pin connector with the EZ Connector on my 5th wheel because I had problems with the trailer brake connection to my truck. This magnetic connector solved my issue and works so much better. No more time spent trying to fix a corroded connection, as this works every time. It's well worth the money!

No issues. Still works every time. Connection remains strong and tight.

Works great. My 2022 Escape TT has a pinbox so I removed the old 7 pin plug and cable and used it to cut each wire on the EZ Connector plug to the same length. Then I just matched the location for each wire with the assistance of a cell phone image. The two photos are before and after.

by:

I really like the easy of use and security of how well it holds. A few small gripes though. One of the O-Rings tore very early on and I needed to order some replacements. Occasionally I don’t get a good connection and need to wiggle it.

by:

The factory whip was coming loose from bumper connector, that prompted this product.Definitively step in right direction.

by:

I had struggled with poor connector mating and fit with the standard connector until I changed to the EZ Connector Magnetic system. It's like a trailer sized Apple Magsafe connector. Mating is instantaneous and rock solid. In a perfect world every trailer connector would be an EZ Connector. My only gripe is that the mounting bracket would not stick down as far as it does. If they offered a minimum height connector bracket as an option it would be nice for those of us pulling trailers with passenger car SUVs and not pickup trucks with way more ground clearance.

by:

I did not see a similar product with shorter length of wires or I would have picked it. There need to be more selections of products with several different lengths to make our individual needs met snd not waste the extra wiring as will be the case here. Other than that
I do think the product is is a great quality made item and look forward to using it on my trailer.

by:

Great product. Should be standard on all trailers. I have multiple trailers and use them from salt winter Vermont roads to hot humid Florida roads. Usually get 6 months out of blade style 7 pin. These are far superior!

by:

Install wasn't too difficult. My trailer had factory connections made with mechanical connectors. I disconnected all of the splices, pulled the pigtail out, pulled the interior wires out, soldered the EZConnector wires to the trailer wires outside of the trailer, applied the heat-shrink tubing, and pushed the wire bundle back into the trailer compartment at the same point they were previously. Worked perfectly with no additional work.

by:

this product keeps connectors safe and clean and should be on every vehicle...they've planned very well to keep your equipment clean and out of the weather and dirt!!!!

by:

Best way to get lights on a trailer. Only connections I will use now. I have them on both my trucks and every trailer I buy

by:

This 7 way pin connector is heavy duty and well made.

  • Parts Needed to Add EZ Connector Style 7-Way to 2012 F350
Everything you mentioned would work well. The EZ Connection part # 319-S7-06 will work great on your truck and will mount with the part # 319-S7-61 and the # 319-S7-10 is the correct kit for the trailer side. The Y-adapter you sent in a picture of is perfectly compatible and would be what you'd need to add this type of connection to your truck while still allowing your standard 7-way to function. We don't have anything similar though so that adapter would be your best option.

  • EZ Connector Magnetic 7-Way Vehicle and Trailer Wiring For a 2013 Toyota Tacoma With Factory 7-Way
The EZ Connector Magnetic 7-Way Trailer Connectors # 319-R7-02 includes both a trailer 7-way and a plug and play harness for your 2013 Toyota Tacoma. This system will not replace your factory 7-way but instead will create a additional connector. You really don't want to replace your factory 7-way as then it will limit what trailers you can tow. As the harness is plug and play you simply remove the factory connector going into your 7-way connector and insert the new harness in line. You...

  • Upgrading Trailer 7-Way Connector To an EZ Connect Wiring Harness
If you are going to change connectors the EZ Connector Magnetic 7-Way Trailer Connector # 319-S7-10 would be the route I recommend going. Unlike your 7-way blade and 7-way round connectors this connector does not have any form of tension connector that can wear out over time. The connection pins sit against each other with no connector sitting around the pin that may become loose. For the vehicle side there are a few options but the most common being the EZ Connector Custom Vehicle Wiring...

  • Recommended Magnetic EZ Trailer Connector for Trunk and Gooseneck Trailer
We've got exactly what you need. For the bed of your truck, you can install an EZ Connector using part # 319-S7-09 which would plug inline with the connection at the back of the 7-way on your rear bumper (assuming that the tow package harness on your vehicle plugs directly into the rear of the existing 7-way) the harness is 7-feet long, so it'll work great for you. On the trailer end, you'd use part # 319-S7-10. You can see some product videos featuring these products by using the provided...
