These low-profile, lightweight cable chains are great for driving in light snow. Perfect for those trips where you need chains "just in case." Designed to fit passenger vehicles with tight clearance around the wheels.

Note: To determine whether you can use snow chains on your vehicle, or if chains might affect your ABS/ESP functionality, consult your owner's manual.
These chains are great for giving you a little extra traction in the snow. But if you live somewhere where you experience heavy snow often, you'll definitely want something more heavy duty than cables. Because these cable chains are lightweight and don't take up a lot of storage space, they are also perfect for keeping in your trunk if you occasionally travel through areas that require you to have chains on hand.
SAE Class S tire chains are designed for use on passenger vehicles with restricted wheel-well clearance. Most newer cars, vans, and small trucks - especially those with large aftermarket tires - will require Class S chains. If you're unsure about the class of your vehicle, consult your vehicle's user manual.
These chains will fit your tires provided there is both:
If you know your tire size, you may think you won't need to test fit your new cable chains. But there are a lot of variables that can affect whether chains will fit your specific tires, including your tire type, the amount of air pressure in the tire, the amount of tread wear, and the tire manufacturer.
We recommend that you order chains as early in the season as possible to give yourself plenty of time to test fit the chains and reorder if needed. This way, you won't be stuck out in the cold later with snow cables that don't fit.
You can test fit these chains in your garage or driveway, but you'll want to wait until there's snow on the ground to actually drive with them. Likewise, if you're out in the snow and come across bare pavement, you'll want to pull over and remove the chains. Even these low-profile cables can cause damage to the bare pavement, your garage floor, or your vehicle if they break from the wear of riding on a harsh surface.
Installing cable chains is easy.
1. Lay out the chains on the ground to make sure there are no twists or kinks in the cables.
2. Where each cross cable attaches, you'll notice there is a smooth side and one with an edge. Make sure the smooth side faces in to sit against your tire's sidewall as you drape the cables over your tire.
3. On the front of the tire, feed the cable through the connection loop until it's tight, then use the lever to keep the extra cable from flapping as you drive. Repeat this on the backside of the tire.
Rubber adjusters (sold separately) are recommended to help ensure a tight fit. Connect these to the front side of the cable in a star pattern. Make sure the hooks face away from your tire so your wheels don't get scratched.
Quick Tips:
To choose the right snow chain, you must match your tire size. Those measurements can be found on the side of your tire.

These low-profile, lightweight cable chains are great for driving in light snow. Perfect for those trips where you need chains "just in case." Designed to fit passenger vehicles with tight clearance around the wheels. This product replace my 12 years old snow track. The main side cables and x-cables/roller are twice as large in diameter. Much heavier but draped over the wheels with no problem. Installation is simple as described on your video. Fit is good. I am anxious to try idriving with it on snow and ice. But, I don’t drive when the weather is not permitting and the road is not clear. But, it is a good feeling to have a new snow chain with you instead of the old rusty and twisted one.
The 5 arms tensioner are much better than my single loop.
Just a couple of cons:
1. The latch on the outside cable connectors are difficult to lock and unlock in place. Plier to compress it to lock in position and flat head screw driver to open it from lock position are good help.
2. The red “S” clips that is right next to the connector assembly does not work. The cable is too stiff and the cable connector assembly gets in the way in securing excess cables from slapping around. Place the clip on the next link to secure. You will end up with an inch high bulge on the cable so make sure you have enough clearance inside the wheel well when the wheels is fully turned right and left. I have plenty of room so this is not and issue - I hope!
“Much thanks to Carol C. who assisted me in ordering the parts. Your professionalism and product knowledge made my life easy.” Stay WARM!
Shawnee at etrailer.com was a pleasure to deal with and the parts arrived in less than 24 hours!!! Lucky me. I haven't used the item yet but I will write another review after my trip out west!!!
Great support from etrailer and their video is a definite assist when wrestling with the chains the first time or two. We fitted them to our 2011 Honda Odyssey which uses 235/65 17 tires. That said, the lengths of the cables are "just" long enough to be able to hook up and it took a pair of pliers to help - on a warm day. Lying in the snow, at night might not be as much fun. But they appear to be well-made and we will probably see how they work out in a couple of weeks.
I shopped around and you will NEVER beat this price. Clear instructions (video on etrailer was super helpful also). Great carry bag! A nice product to have "just in case." Hopefully I will never have to use them...

I never worry about getting around with rear drive in the winter now that I have these!
Since it's March in the Southeastern U.S., I have not had an opportunity to install the tire chains, so it's difficult to provide a review. I will say that my order arrived in a timely fashion and etrailer's customer support has been very attentive, showing real concern that I'm pleased with my purchase.
The cables showed up on time and appear to be excellent. I haven't used them yet. But I have used cables a lot in the past. I can tell these are made well. The customer service couldn't have been better! etrailer.com was very communicative and followed thru. I would definitely do business with them again.
etrailer is excellent... There web site is very easy to navigate and the entire buying and reviewing and shipping info is TOP SHELF !!!!
Chains were purchased for emergency purposes, recently caught in the snow without chains. Quality looks good and the price seemed reasonable.
Nice Products at a Great PriceI recently ordered two different tire chain/cable sets. They were priced below many competetors and shipping was just in time for our first snow. Thanks for the great product, price, and customer service.
Chains nearly fit and rubber tension straps broke first time I tried to use them.
Outstanding ordering on Internet. Easy to follow and purchase the
Correct product. Fast shipment.
Great cable chains at an affordable price. Thanks
This style of chain is difficult to install unless you are in more ideal conditions such as a dry driveway or garage. We put them on regularly in winter/snowy conditions and did not get easier. My wife isn't "strong" enough (and she's in shape) to get installed correctly. We purchased new ones that take 1/4 the time to install.
I have not used the chains I purchased yet so I really can’t review the product , so my review is based on ordering and customer service which was great.
This product arrived very quickly (exceeded my expectations). And I was able to put them on a few times over the weekend just to see how hard it would be using these as oppose to chains, and they are surprisingly light in comparison to the chains.
Everything arrived perfectly. The next time it snows in Miami I'll be ready. Go Canes! []_[] !
I got just what I ordered. The product is doing just what I wanted it to do.
Better than expected !!Cables were great. Heavy Duty, much better than the cables I had purchased from a major auto parts store for twice the price. Excellent customer service, shipping, and pricing.
they work great .
Now I'm ready for old man winter. Chains are heavy and bulky. Cables are the way to go. Not to heavy and they come in a nice nylon bag. Thank You.
Well built product. Thanks.
Great price and shipped quick!
Have not used the product yet but it came in great time!
Great product with fair price

Works fine except on black ice, you have to really take it easy on the accelerator when accelerating from stop or coming out of a turn. This is understandable but I thought I try to see how far can I take it. It did better than the plastic strap. Noise level at 35mph is acceptable. Vibration is well absorbed by the suspension. Lastly, it also fits my 2003 Ford Ranger how about that.
