Video Transcript for Bulldog Square Sidewind Swivel Jack Review

Let's take a look at the Bulldog Pipe Mounted Swivel Jack for your trailer. So this one's gonna have a lift capacity of 3000 pounds and a static capacity of 5,000 pounds. The difference between the two, if we have 3000 pounds up on our trailer, we're gonna be able to lift it off the ball on our truck. But if it exceeds that, up into 5,000 pounds, we're not gonna be able to use the lift feature of the jack because it's gonna damage the internal gears. But it will be able to support up to 5,000 pounds if it's just sitting still. Looking down at the bottom, we're gonna have a relatively smaller foot plate.

It is about 7 1/2 inches long by about 4 inches wide. So you notice how it is welded all the way around. This isn't gonna be a jack that we can put a wheel on there, but we do have some for you on our website, so go check those out if you like the idea of putting a wheel on there. But the plate, it's bent. So the nice thing about these bent plate is, metal's actually a little bit stronger if it's pre-bent.

So it is going to be able to support, even if it's on uneven terrain. It is zinc coated as well, both the plate and the inter shaft here, and that's gonna help resistance rust and corrosion. This is a 2 inch by 2 inch tube right here. And then moving on up, we have a 2 1/4 by 2 1/4. And this is powder coated, so it's also gonna resist against that rust.

This right here is a sideline jack, so it's not on the top. I like this because I like to put tool boxes and stuff up in front of my trailer. So this isn't gonna get in the way, which is nice. The radius is gonna be about 6 1/2 inches, has a little plastic piece here that will rotate with ya, so it's gonna make it easier to crank this thing up and down. On the backside, we're gonna have a grease Zerk, so this is gonna allow us to maintenance the internal gears.

So the more you use it, the more often you want to do that. I use mine every other week or so. And I grease it up probably every six months or so. Some of 'em don't have it, I like the fact that they put it on there so I can make sure that the gears are gonna stay nice and lubed up for a long life. Whenever we're ready to go down the road, all we have to do is just grab this little piece here, pull this pin. It's got a diameter of 5 ace of an inch. Then once we rotate it around, we can put it back in. I do like how they have the chain here, I lose a lot of things, this is just reassurance that it's not gonna run off. But if it does, all it is is just a 5 ace diameter pin. It is a little bit nicer than some of the other ones. It has a pretty big handle on it. So if you do have gloves on, if you're hauling in the winter, you can get a grip and rip it out. From the center of our pipe right here to the end of the foot plate it's gonna be 15 1/8 of an inch, but that's when it's fully retracted. When it's completely extended out, it'll go all the way up to 30 1/8 an inch. Those measurements are really useful whenever you have a lot of stuff going on right here. You wanna make sure that it's gonna fit and not interfere with your coupler or with a break away switch, junction box, or whatever you got going on on the front of your trailer. It does come with a little tube here. So this is a smaller one, there's also a bigger one. So if you do have a bigger one on your trailer it's still going to work. But this one is gonna go on the inside of this tube, and the bigger one will go around. So it'll work with either of them. But notice how the hole is offset to one side. So the bigger gap is gonna go towards the trailer. So if you don't do that, it's not gonna line up. Also, if you put these nasty big ole welds on there, we have found that it doesn't allow those holes to line up either. And we do wanna make sure that those holes are straight up and down and side to side so we don't have a crooked jack whenever we're trying to use it. This is gonna really come into handy whenever we're deciding where to put this, depending on what you got going on. I think this jack is a pretty good candidate for this trailer because it's pretty close to the ground and it's not gonna make us crank down a whole lot compared to some of the smaller jacks. But if you really want one, that's really, really quick. You get one with a drop leg, it's just gonna prevent you from having to crank this as many times. But when it comes to jacks, I've mess with all of them. Step one is, get the right capacity. You don't limit your trailer from the get go, so figure out what you're putting on your trailer and then go by capacity. And then when it comes to the length, you can take the information in this video just to figure out which size is gonna be best for you. Because if you get the drop leg, the size really doesn't matter. So take that into consideration. What I suggest is just hook it up to your truck, or whatever you're hauling it with, and then measure from the center of the frame, down to the ground. And that's gonna be a useful measurement to figure out how much lift you're really gonna need. And that's pretty much it for a look at the Bulldog Swivel Pipe Mounted Trailer Jack. And I'm Adam with e-trailer..

The quality of the jack itself seems excellent. Sturdy and well built. I probably didn't need it but it's nice to have.

That said, the attachment to the trailer is junk and has me wondering what I'm going to do with the jack. I welded the tube securely to the frame of my trailer but there is so much play in the holes for the pin and the fit between the tube and the collar that goes over it that the jack wobbles back and forth. It flops around and winds up leaning out at an angle to one side or the other when you put a load on it. Looks bad and feels very insecure.

Really well built trailer jack. Arrived quickly.

Trailer Jack is all I hoped it would be.
It is easy to use, mounted to my original swivel yoke. No wedding required to replace this Trailer Jack for the original on our 5 foot by 12 foot tandem axle trailer.
Cranking action is smooth and easy to turn with the long handle.
The foot plate easily extends with the quick change pin, reducing the cranking needed to lift the trailer hitch for loading the trailer and leveling our trailer once a destination no matter what the load.
Using an bungy cord to keep handle from hanging down when the Trailer jack is lying in its travel position along the trailer tung.

Great jack i put it on my 6x12x6 dump trailer i needed an overkill size jack so I could load while not hooked to the truck and if the trailer rolled or moved while loading it wouldnt fold up the jack this has been an excellent addition to the trailer !

The website is wrong. Samantha B. Can acknowledge that by the photos we sent and will not refund us. We are on our 5th email. Now they want new measurement photos from us for a second time. How about just measure them in the warehouse? bad customer service. I do love etrailer now that we are finally up and running again but they are not about customer service for sure.

The jack works great! 2 nice features complement its functionality: it’s geared low, so can easily raise a heavy load ( 2 cord wood, 1.5 yds gravel, 30 hp tractor etc), and the adjustable foot can be moved to lessen the travel needed. This extension also make it possible to raise the front higher than nonadjustable jack models. Has given me a higher slope when shoveling out the bed - a quasi manual dump effect.

And last, it is mounted on a rotating bezel - so can be stowed horizontal when towed, if needed. This really helps me when I use it in the woods, towed by the tractor, digging out stumps. It easily clears roots rocks, and deadfall - with the trailer wiring safely tucked inside conduit.

Very pleased after a year, no problems or issues. Has proven more functional than I expected.

this jack replaced one on a trailerable manlift. It was an easy install after I had the piece of pipe welded onto the tongue. The jack lifts very smoothly and has plenty of lifting power.

fast shipping thanks

This jack is an ideal replacement for the Vermeer BC1000

by:

Product worked great! It’s well made and looks good, easy to weld into place and lifts a car hauler trailer with no problems!
Would recommend!

by:

Worked out well for what I needed.

by:

great jacks i use them all the time on my wood chippers.

by:

The trailer Jack arrived prompt and is of great quality, due to the specific measurements they recommended taking, it was "plug and play".
I am very pleased with the service etrailer provided!

by:

Trailer jacks are great, however, if you order multiples the packaging should definitely improve. Boxes were all torn up and jacks were all scratched. Was not happy at all about that part. The boxes were not made to carry that kind of weight. Pictures below of how they arrived in front of our business with UPS.

by:

Just had it welded to our Eagle Spirit trailer that hauls a 24 foot Thompson Fisherman and it is GREAT. Handles the heavy weight with absolutely no problem. Thank you.

by:

Shipping was really fast. Had good tracking and communication throughout. Bought it for my m1102 trailer. Haven't got to use it yet so this is as far as my review can go. I'll come back layer after some good use.
