Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

by:

This replaced the beat-up hub assembly on my livestock trailer perfectly. This assembly was a breath of fresh air after scouring the internet for any hubs using 3/4" outer bearings and 1.25" inner bearings. The assembly of this was very simple and made with nice tight tolerances. I used a new spacer washer and reused the hub nut capped with a 3/4" hub buddy instead of the dust cap. This setup handled well since I drove an hour and a half on the highway right after installation without needing to stop and the hub was cool to the touch when I arrived at my destination.

by:

First I would like to say that in my opinion the replacement hub is much better than the original because it is made from a solid casting, as opposed the the 3 piece original. Everything was machined well and fit exactly as expected. Not only would I recommend this product but I have to say that just as important as the product is the customer service. Your representative Kate took the time to help me with gathering the information we needed so that she could then search to locate the assembly I needed. She was confident that it would be the correct one and she was right.

by:

Although I haven't really towed yet. The ease of the installation was great

by:

Received 3 races and only one bearing with this hub and the seal was damaged in shipping as there was no packaging in the box with the parts.

  • Trailer Hub That Uses Bearings LM11949 and LM67048
Both replacement trailer brakes and hub/drums should be selected based on the axle weight rating. The best way to select replacement hub/drums is to pull one of the hubs and remove its inner and outer bearings to obtain their part numbers. This is the easiest method to find a compatible hub. When not available measurements can be used but these need to be very precise, to the nearest thousandth of an inch, such as 1.234-inches. We do carry one bearing with an inside diameter of 0.75-inches,...

  • Trailer Idler Hub That Uses a LM67048 Bearing and Has a 5 on 4-1/2 Inch Bolt Pattern
The LM67000LA is a Timken part number for a bearing cone with a 1.250" I.D. and a 2.328" O.D. This is the same as our bearing part # LM67048. The LM67010 is a Timken part number for a race with a 2.328" O.D. that matches our part # LM67010. The only trailer hub we have that uses this bearing/race and has a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern is the Trailer Hub Assembly part # DX22XR. This hub uses a LM67048 inner bearing (1.250") and a LM11949 outer bearing (.750"). Unfortunately, we do not have...

I do have some options for you but we only offer two trailer hubs with these dimensions, the Dexter Trailer Idler Hub Assembly part # DX22XR which has a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern and the Trailer Hub Assembly part # AH15450ECOMP which has a 4 on 5" bolt pattern. These hubs both use a LM67048 inner bearing (1.25") and a LM11949 outer bearing (.75"). I recommend the 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern since it's way more common. I have attached a list of wheel/tire options below.
