Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

etrailer.com Technical Support

I am very happy with this hitch! It is installed on my Chrysler 200 Limited hardtop convertible. I bought a utility trailer to haul things and now I don't have to beg/borrow for a pickup truck. I also bought a bike rack to go in it. Very nice and convenient.

by:
2008 Chrysler Sebring

Exactly as described, FAST shipping and EASY install. In my case, I had to use an extension as my trailer was too close to the bumper but otherwise a perfect hitch!

by:
2011 Chrysler 200

Alot easier to bolt up than expected. Did it by myself without dropping the exhaust.

by:

The hitch is of good design and solid in manufacturing. It fits my car perfectly.

by:
2008 Chrysler Sebring

Quality was good but the box was damaged & I was glad the hardware was securely attached to the reciever.

by:
2013 Chrysler 200

Rarely do I write reviews but this deserved one. I bought the drawtite hitch (24871) and the swagman xtc-2 bike rack. I thought mounting the hitch would be a royal pain... not at all. Probably took a total of a 1/2 hour. Went on etrailer.com and watched a video that clearly showed what to do. Same thing with the bike rack. Both seem well built, all hardware was included. and all the holes lined up!! (that is rare). The online help at etrailer.com was excellent and I will order from them again.
Thanks!

Love it. The hitch lined right up. Pretty easy to put on, about 40 mins to put on. The bike rack, same results. Thanks etrailer, leaving for the beach Saturday with our bikes. Yeppie

Bought this receiver, to use a hitch mounted bike rack. Installation was easy, and now it’s used for bike rack. The whole process was easy.

2010 Chrysler Sebring

I bought the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver, #24871, to mount on a 2010 Chrysler Sebring (Hard Top) convertable. I was a bit apprehensive so i called the 800 phone support and was assured it would fit.

I also purchased a Swagman XC-S6465 bike rack to be used with the Draw-Tite Receiver.

After receiving them, it took an hour and a half and I had 2 bikes hanging off the back of the car. Everything was flawless.

Great products at a great price.

by:
2013 Chrysler 200

The hitch is great! Hidden away nicely. Just like photo. And Fit Perfectly. I have yet to run wiring. Doing that tonite.
--- BUT!!!... that whole fish wire thing and installing the shorter 2" bolts. Argh! Total frustration. Why not just put 4 of the large bolts in? I was under that car for an hour trying to make that work. So close,, yet impossible. So I just went to the hardware store and bought 2 more of the 4" bolts.
I recommend just putting 4 of the larger bolts into the package. Thanks. -H

Fits well but did not have the pin for the receiver extension. I purchased both extension and hitch from this site and would have figured it would be complete.

This hitch requires the use of ball mount # 3594, and that includes a pin and clip. I see that you ordered ball mount # C45522 and a pin and clip is not included with that, but it is available as part # F-4.

2011 DodgeAvenger

I received my trailer hitch and wiring kit for my 2011 Dodge Avenger just a few days after ordering them. The only issue I had with installing the hitch was I couldn't feed the wire through the frame tube on the driver's side. I ended up running a stiffer wire through and attaching it to the coil which allowed me to make it happen. When I first read the directions for the wiring kit I thought I might be in over my head for this installation. Over the next couple of days I reread it and decided to give it a try. I was successful and am very happy! My reason for buying the trailer is that I no longer own a truck and with my hobby being landscaping this little trailer will come in handy.

by:
2008 Chrysler Sebring

Outstanding! I got the products way faster than expected. Hitch went on very easily. If you are mechanicallying inclined the job goes well. Really pleased with the fishing wire that was provided. Goes well if you fish the coiled end through rear hole pushing forward, but I was not happy with electrical wiring diagram. Leaves a lot to be desired. I have electrical background and found it difficult to understand. Also, you have to cut through the rubber grommets to feed new plugs to lights, not happy about that, but overall I am happy with the service and thank you

by:
2014 Chrysler 200

No major problems with the installation.
Jacked car up and used Jack stands, no lift.
I did not drop my exhaust and had no problems.
Definitely watch the video of guy installing the bolt with the fishing wire. Not so hard if you see it on the video. W/out the video, I would have been in trouble.
Will use to pull small boat.
Overall not as hard as I thought.
Have not used it yet, wire kit is next.

I've owned it for about a year now and it's definitely has served it's purpose. Very sturdy hitch, I just wouldn't get it for my 2013 Chrysler 200 again. There were no problems with the installation, it was as easy as it said it would be, definitely gonna break a sweat when you install but I'll occasionally scrape on deep dips, therefore giving it a 4 star.

website was very helpful to select the right part I need for my car
Delivery was faster then expected
Website even provide video how to install
Im planing to install it by myself next week
Thanks to etrailer.com

The hitch has provided good service. The nut tightness must be checked periodically as they can become loose. Lock nuts would prevent this.

by:

Both the Draw Tite Hitch and the Swagman XC2 Bike Rack are great products. Easy to put together, install, use and take off. Very sturdy.

Now i can haul my bike every-where !!!

  • Trailer Hitch and Wiring for a 2013 Dodge Avenger SXT
Yes, the Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 24871 fits all models of the 2013 Dodge Avenger including your SXT. I have included a link to a video showing installation. The model in the video has single exhaust but installation for dual exhaust models would basically be the same. If you plan on doing any towing then the correct ball mount to use is # 3594. For a 1-7/8 inch ball you can use # 19256 and for a 2 inch ball use # 19258. And for trailer wiring use # C56211. If you want to use the hitch...

  • Does Draw Tite Hitch # 24871 Fit 2012 Chrysler 200 with Dual Exhaust
We've spoken with Draw Tite before about their # 24871 hitch and it fits just fine on versions of your 2012 Chrysler 200 that have dual exhaust tips so this hitch would work well for you. I attached an install video for this hitch for you to check out as well.

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver and Cargo Carrier for 2011 Chrysler 200
For your 2011 Chrysler 200, we have a confirmed fit for both the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver # 24871 and the Curt # C11133. The Draw-Tite hitch will be recessed too far under your bumper for a cargo carrier, so I recommend the Curt hitch which will require stabilizer strap # 18050 and has a measurement of 4-1/2 inches from the center of the hitch pin to the outermost part of the bumper. You will simply need a Class I rated cargo carrier with the closest part of the rack...

  • Carrying Snowboards on a Trailer Hitch or Roof Rack for a 2012 Chrysler 200
For a trailer hitch for your 2012 Chrysler 200, I recommend the Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 24871 because it does not require the use of a stabilization strap for non-trailer loads like the Curt hitch does. I have included a link to the instructions and a video showing a typical installation for you. Because this is a Class I trailer hitch there are only certain bike racks that you can use. The HitchSki, # Y02418, only fits on certain Yakima 4-bike racks, none of which will fit in a Class...

  • Hitch Compatibility with Dual Exhaust on 2008 Chrysler Sebring Convertible

Draw-Tite tells me that their Class I receiver # 24871 is a fit for the 2008 Sebring Convertible, regardless of the exhaust set-up. To complete your towing set-up, you might also need the following: Vehicle wiring harness with 4-pole trailer connector, part # 118444 Drawbar # 3594 Pin and Clip # PC2 1-7/8 inch trailer ball, part # 19256 or 2 inch trailer ball, part # 19258 To see installation...

  • What is the Towing Capacity of a 2009 Chrysler Sebring with 2.4 Liter 4 Cylinder Engine
I found an owners manual online for the 2009 Chrysler Sebring and found that the vehicles with the 2.4 liter engine can tow up to 1,000 pounds gross trailer weight and 100 pounds tongue weight. The towing section starts on page 338 in the manual. This does limit what you can tow quite a bit so I do recommend a different towing vehicle since you will not get much of a camper under 1,000 pounds. If you do plan on towing with this vehicle then you can use hitch # 24871. The recommended...

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for a 2009 Chrysler Sebring Convertible for a Bike Rack
The Curt trailer hitch, # C11081, will only fit the sedan models, but I would recommend the Draw-Tite trailer hitch, # 24871, over the Curt hitch any way. The reason is that the Draw-Tite hitches undergo additional voluntary testing and you do not have to use a stabilization strap for bike racks or cargo carriers like you do with the Curt hitch. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you to view. This is a Class I trailer hitch which means only certain bike racks will...

It can carry up to 3 bikes, is priced great and was tested on your vehicle and determined to be a fit. This is a trunk-mount carrier.
