Bike Rack Recommendation for 2008 Chrysler Sebring Convertible
Question:
I have an 08 Sebring convertible. I need a rack to fit. I have the trunk mounted antenna and have to work around that. Its a girls bike also. What do you recommend?

Helpful Expert Reply:
The trunk-mount rack I suggest for your 2008 Chrysler Sebring convertible is the Hollywood Racks Express 3 # HRE3. This rack's design allows it to clear your trunk-mounted antenna.
If you are willing to install a light-duty Class I hitch on the car, such as # 24871 from Draw-Tite, then you can avoid placing any extra stress on your trunk (and your antenna) by using a hitch-mount rack like the Swagman XC # S64650. Hitch racks put the entire weight load of the rack and bike on the car's frame - its strongest part - and so avoid any concerns about denting your trunk lid from the bike's weight.
Also, a wheel-mount style rack like the BikeWing that suspends the bike from its wheels means you do not have to bother with adapter bars which can be required for some women's bikes if they are carried on a trunk rack. This rack is approved for both car and RV use, it weighs only 12-lbs, it can handle two 40-lb bikes and it offers 4-inches of rise in the shank for better ground clearance.
With it you can use hitch lock # e98879 to secure the rack, cable lock # e98891.
