2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty

Super sturdy, great fit. Knocked a star for a few things 1) there's no holes for tying up all the electrical wires that attach to the factory hitch meaning having to figure out stick-on solutions or tying up out of the way. Not major but annoying. 2) wish the hardware was similar to factory with the double retained nuts. The plates and bolts work but not as easy to install. 3) install isn't difficult, but it does take a lot longer than the instructions if you're removing a factory hitch. Between spare tire, all the fiddly push in wire holders and bolts that need penetrating oil and a strong impact wrench plan on at least 3 hrs if you're doing this with a floor jack on the ground.

2019 Ford F-350 Super Duty

I purchased a 2019 Ford F350 Platinum SRW, to discover at a later date that the aftermarket hitch was rated 3,000 lbs than the truck's rating. After I stopped swearing, I ordered this Curt Commercial Duty hitch. It is clearly much sturdier than the original and I now feel confident while towing my toyhauler. Removing the original hitch required an impact air wrench, but was straight forward. Installation of the Curt hitch was straight forward as well, but required a pretty hefty torque wrench to get the proper torque. Overall the Installation was not difficult and I am very pleased with the hitch. Etrailer provided accurate information, a great price and quick delivery.

by:

Hitch fits well and I’m happy with the included hardware. The instructions left out a few minor details but nothing a reasonably intelligent person can’t figure out. This hitch is much better than the factory hitch.

by:

The customer service is great. A local vendor delivered 3 wrong hitch receivers to me. I decided to take a chance on ordering online and was concerned that I would start down a rabbit hole all over again. Instead I was put at ease that etrailer had the solution. I placed the order and it arrived in Arizona quickly and fit perfectly.

by:

Great service from Caroline, she was very professional from the very first phone call. The hitch was perfect and was shipped on time. This is great service especially when you're calling from Alaska thank you!

by:

STANDARD TRAILER HOOKS DO NOT FIT ON THE HITCH!!! Unbelievable. Hopefully someone with half a brain and basic experience designs the next one. Waste of money.

Well built, heavy hitch.

See what our Experts say about this CURT Trailer Hitch

  • What is the Recommended Tongue Weight for 2017 Ford F-250
In your case, you will have to follow the tongue weight rating of your 2017 Ford F-250. The tongue weight rating on the Curt Trailer Hitch receiver, # C15802, is the weight that this particular hitch will fail and does not represent the total towing capacity of your truck. The max tongue weight that you will be allowed to tow will be the max of 1500 that is rated for your vehicle. Even if the hitch has a tongue weight rated up to 2500 lbs your vehicle cannot handle that much tongue weight....

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver for 2017 Ford F-250 With High Tongue Weight Capacity
Yes. For your 2017 Ford F-250 6.7L diesel, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class V Commercial Duty - 2-1/2" # C15802 which is rated for tongue weights up to 2,700 lbs. This won't increase the tongue weight range of your truck determined by the manufacturer which is set for 10% of the towing capacity. The hitch is rated independently so the hitch receiver can handle up to that 2,700 lb capacity.

  • How Much does the Gen-Y # 325-GH-1625 Weigh?
The Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount w/ Stacked Receivers - 2-1/2" Hitch # 325-GH-1625 weighs a total of 70 pounds. This is because the hitch is made out of heavy-duty steel and is built for brute strength. If you are looking at doing some heavy-duting towing on your 2022 Ford F-350, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class V Commercial Duty - 2-1/2" # C15802. The Curt hitch comes with a monstrous 20,000 pound gross towing weight capacity. Since you have 17-1/2 inches...

  • Class V Trailer Hitch For A 2022 Ford F-250 Super Duty
Yes, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C15802 does fit your 2022 Ford F-250 Super Duty. This is a class V hitch with a gross towing weight of 20,000lbs and a maximum tongue weight capacity of 2,700lbs. If you need a ball mount, a great option is the Curt Adjustable 2-Ball Mount # C45902. This is an adjustable ball mount capable of handling 20,000lbs when using the 2-5/16" ball.

  • Recommended Class V Hitch for a 2023 Ford F-250
To add a 20,000 lbs capacity hitch to your 2023 Ford F-250, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch item # C15802. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your F-250 with included hardware. It has a 2-1/2" receiver and a 20,000 lbs towing capacity. This hitch can be used with a weight distribution system but it will not increase the capacity.

  • Will Curt Clevis Hook Attach to Curt Class V Hitch?
The Curt 81960 clevis hooks you referenced have a 1" opening, and the safety chain loops of Curt hitch # C15802 are approximately 1-1/8" wide so you would be able to use them, but the hooks would not quite close. For Curt clevis hooks with a larger opening there is the # C81970 which has a 1-1/3" opening, as well as the # C81980, which has an opening of 1-1/4". I've added links to video reviews of these hooks for you to take a look at as well.

  • Tongue Weight of 2018 Ford F-250 Super Duty with Curt Trailer Hitch
You're correct that adding a trailer hitch, like the Curt you referenced # C15802, that is rated higher than your truck will not increase your truck's capabilities. Trailer hitches are often overrated for the vehicles they're designed for. It's mainly so the hitch will still be enough for the same model of vehicle with different options that do increase its capacity.

  • Capacity of the Factory Trailer Hitch on a 2017 Ford F-250 Super Duty
If you have the 6.2 V8 engine in your 2017 Ford F-250 Super Duty than the maximum tongue weight rating is 1,500 lbs and you would not benefit from replacing the factory trailer hitch but if you have the 6.7L V8 engine then the maximum tongue weight rating is 1,800 lbs and you would see benefits from replacing the factory trailer hitch. If you have the 6.7L V8 engine then I recommend using the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C15802. This option is a Class V hitch with a 2-1/2" receiver...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch And Ball Mount For 2019 Ford F-250 Super Duty
Absolutely! For your 2019 Ford F-250 Super Duty, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C15802 is the way to go. It features the 2.5 inch receiver you need and being a commercial duty hitch, it has a towing capacity of 20,000 lbs and tongue weight rating of 2,700 lbs. Since it's custom made to fit the frame of your F-250, it requires no welding or drilling and the average mechanic (or mechanically inclined person) can complete the installation in just about 40 minutes. • Recommended Trailer Hitch and Ball Mount For 2019 Ford F-250 Super Duty Towing More Than 1 Trailer
I recommend the Curt Class V Receiver Hitch part # C15802 for the 2019 Ford F-250 Super Duty because because it offers more towing capacity than the B & W option and the installation is a bit easier since it is one solid piece that you bolt up to the frame. Since you are towing more than 1 trailer you will need an adjustable ball mount so you can adjust the rise or drop depending on which trailer you are towing. For that I recommend Flash E Series HD Adjustable 2-Ball Mount - 2-1/2" Hitch...

  • Recommendation on a Trailer Hitch for a 2017 Ford F-350 Super Duty Truck With 8 foot Bed
For the 2017 Ford F-350 Super Cab, with running boards stopping behind the cab and OEM hitch, you will need part # TLF2021 for the front tie down and # TLF3008 for the rear tie down. The tie downs are custom-fit to the truck and do not require drilling into the frame when installing. I also recommend the Torklift Locking FastGun TurnBuckles # TLS9529-2-LK. • Will Installing Higher Capacity Curt Hitch on 2017 Ford F-250 Give Vehicle More Towing Capacity
With the Curt hitch part # C15802 installed on your 2017 Ford F-250 you will definitely have a higher capacity hitch that would not be the weak point in your towing setup. It can't give you more capacity than the truck has but the added capacity doesn't hurt anything and basically allows you to know that the hitch wouldn't be what fails if you towed over capacity.
