Video Transcript for Hopkins Graduated RV Levels Review

Today, we'll be taking a look at the Hopkins Stick-on Graduated RV Level, part number HM08525. The Hopkins Graduated Level is a great solution for leveling out your camper or RV. It features an elongated arch reflective bubble level with numerical markings that indicate, in inches, how far you need to raise or lower your trailer. The kit comes with two levels, so you can easily level out your front-to-back and side-to-side. They measure three and three quarter inches long by an inch and a half tall. Now that we've gone over some of the features of the level, I'll go ahead and show you how to get it installed. Now first thing we need to do is make sure that our trailer is level front-to-back and side-to-side.

Here on the side of our trailer, we'll need to find a fixed point. We're going to off the top of our trim right here with our carpenter's level. As you can see, we're slightly out of level front-to-back, and we're going to have a buddy go up front and lower our trailer. Yup, that's good. With the front-to-back taken care of we're going to go ahead level out our side-to-side.

We're going to come up here to the A-frame of our trailer. Now, with the level on our A-frame, you can see that our side-to-side is slightly out of level. We'll go ahead and have a buddy adjust our stabilizers. Little bit more. There it is. Now, with our camper level, we can go ahead and stick on our new Hopkins Graduated Level.

First thing we want to do is make sure that our area is nice and clean so our adhesive gets a good grip. I've already gone ahead and removed the adhesive strip on the back, so we'll just need to place it nice and slow and make sure the bubble remains center with the zero and then, we can stick it on. Now, it doesn't rightly matter where you stick it on your camper just as long as you know that it's level. And we've got it. Now that our front-to-back level on, we can go ahead and grab our next one, and this is going to be our side-to-side. First thing we need to do, like before, we'll need to go ahead and wipe that down.

Make sure it's clear of any dust or debris, that way our adhesive gets a good grip. Same thing as before, just make sure it's in with the zero . or lined up with the zero rather. All right, that looks pretty good. Now, if you'd like a more permanent mount for your level, we've got two optional screw holes that you can use. You'll just have to provide your own hardware. That's going to complete our look at the Hopkins Stick-on Graduated RV Level, part number HM08525. .

As expected, used these on previous tra ilers.

Makes leveling an RV so much more easy. Stick them near the front of the RV and easily check them as you are placing the RV and adjusting the tongue jack.

This so simplifies setting up in a campground. I have them glued to the left front and front left side and I can slip out of my PU and check level very easily.

by:

Decent. They will keep me close to leve l.

by:

had them before they are great

We really appreciate how fast we receive products from etrailer. We will always go to etrailer first to purchase our products.

by:

Look much better than some of the ones I can buy locally.

by:

Very helpful when leveling our trailer

by:

I had these before on my other trailer and worked quite well, I imagine these will do the same.

by:

The levels have been nice to have. Not every parking area is level and having the levels on each leg allows for us to level them out as close as possible

by:

I use this every time I set up my tow-behind. It is so convenient to to check the front of the trailer right behind my tow vehicle for lateral level and the front side of the trailer as I set up the jack at the hitch.

I have been using these bubble levels for a year and I love them. Set up on the forward corner of the trailer. They allow me to know walking back from the tow vehicle I know if I needs to level the sides and from the hitch jack I can see the fore and aft level.

by:

Super healed up, easy to install

by:

Makes for a quick eyeball for level, which we found quite important for proper sink drainage.

by:

Works great and easy to install and stays in place.

by:

I had to replace one of these that I lost on my travel trailer. I guess the adhesive just got old. I liked the visibility of these as opposed to my old ones ,I replaced both of them. I put screws in these so that I won't loose them.

The glass part came out on the front one. Now need to replace. Used screws so that part is still there.

by:

I bought these for our camper 1 year ago and they are still attached and work great. We camp in a lot of places where the ground is very uneven and need the levels for accuracy for the camper. These replacement levels are high quality and I highly recommend them.

Still working top notch! Still camping in the boonies where the ground is very uneven and need the levels. Still giving etrailer 5 stars!

by:

Works perfectly and I like the clear elbow so that you can see when the water runs clear.

by:

They work excellent for leveling smaller trailers. Takes the guess work out of setting up my pop up with the marked inch indicators. Quick setup and flawless roof lifts with a level base!

by:

My go to source for all trailer needs. Customer service makes sure so order the right part first time!

by:

Exact replacement for my broken trailer level. As always, e-trailer has prompt shipping and quality products.

Product still functioning as designed. No complaints.

by:

These are inexpensive and easy to read from a distance which is what I was looking for. There are so many of these bubble levels on the market it was difficult to choose from online pictures. I used the supplied self stick adhesive tape to mount after leveling my camper and checking it with a level attached to the frame and not the camper itself. The bubble is fairly sensitive so mounting is a bit tricky with the tape as there is a bit of flex that the tape allows. I will use these to get the camper close but will also keep a small level with me when I travel.

If you're looking for a quick visual reference to you travel trailers state of level, these work well.

by:

Levels are the same as the ones on my last camper. The liquid inside is just thick enough to make the bubble move just a little slower than water so they are stable. The sticky tape seems to hold nicely but I still used some glue to assist. Overall a very good item for the price.

Still working perfectly

by:

Easy to apply. There are reports of them fading but at the cost I don't mind replacing them once in a while.

by:

Great price and fast shipping. I had these levelers on my old camper and I just had to install them on my new camper. It makes it so easy to level the camper as you know just how many inches of raise you need from side to side, and front to rear.

They are still working just fine and I still like them as much as the first day I put them on. It makes it real easy to estimate how many inches you need to raise or lower the camper.

by:

I bought a used pop-up camper that had original tires. I checked the cost of tires and mounting on the rims locally and found that for $10 more per tire I could buy already mounted units from etrailer. Reviews indicated that others that had done the same thing were highly satisfied. They were shipped quickly and in only three days of ordering them, they are mounted on my camper. Etrailer had already emailed me to let me know they were on their way and that they were ready to help if I had any problems with the order or the product. Great company....I highly recommend them.

I've used these same Hopkins Stick-on RV levels on all my RVs and Enclosed trailers. They are very accurate and easy to read. The sticking material has never come lose over many years of use. I especially like the fact that although they include holes to screw them in place, it is not required. Therefore, no holes in the trailer. Furthermore, they are calibrated in such a way that they will also tell you how many inches your trailer, RV, etc. needs to be raised or lowered to reach level. Therefore in terms of forward or rearward lowering/raising calibrating, always attach them to either the very front or very rear (as much as possible) of your trailer/RV for best results. This is not to say they don't work in any other location, because they do, it's just easier to determine how far you are off in terms of forward and backward when the level is at either far end of the trailer.

  • Will Adhesive Keep Hopkins Stick-On Graduated RV Levels in Place
We haven't had complaints about using the included adhesive backing on level set # HM08525. If you do go with a different double-sided tape be sure to completely remove the existing adhesive. I do not foresee there being a problem but there is one thing that could cause anything that uses adhesive to loosen: heat. With a high enough temperature for a long enough period of time the adhesive will become more fluid and that could cause them to slip.

  • How to Install the Hopkins RV Level # HM08525
The levels in the Hopkins Graduated RV Levels, item # HM08525, are not specific to their mounting location. You will need to use a separate level to be sure the trailer is level, front to back and side to side, before installation and apply the levels with the bubble in the center position.

  • What do the Numbers Indicate on Hopkins Graduated RV Levels # HM08525
The numbers on the Hopkins Graduated RV Levels # HM08525 are just reference numbers and are not meant to indicate degrees or inches or feet. Basically it is a simple way to make sure the trailer is level on both sides. So if you are at 0 on one side and 2 on the other, in either direction, you know that one side is not level by 2. So you would want to get both to 2 or to 0 in that scenario.

  • How to Attach Hopkins Graduated RV Levels # HM08525 to Leather-like Material in Class C Motorhome
The Hopkins Graduated RV Levels # HM08525 can be mounted either with their self-sticking adhesive backs or by use of screws for semi-permanent installation. Since the self-sticking backs do not adhere to the faux leather fabric in your motor home you might consider using small screws or finish nails to mount them. It may be possible to make small holes in the fabric that will not be too visible if the levels are removed. You first might try testing this idea in an out-of-the-way location...

  • Product Dimensions and Mounting Dimensions of Hopkins Graduated RV Levels
I went out to the warehouse to take some measurements of the Hopkins Graduated RV Levels, Stick-On # HM08525 for you. I found the level to measure approximately 3-3/4 inches long x 1-1/2 inches wide. Without the height of the logo, the level is 1-3/8 inches wide. Where the level is skinnier, it is approximately 1/8 of an inch thick. With the thickness of the level, it is approximately 1/2 inch thick. The mounting holes are 2-3/4 inches apart on center. I confirmed with my contact at...

  • Best Place to Mount Hopkins Graduated RV Levels on Trailer
There is no specific location where you mount the Hopkins Graduated RV Levels, # HM08525. Personally I would consider where I would be standing as I worked to make the RV or trailer level and I would place the levels in the most convenient place for that process.

  • What Length of Screw to Use and is Caulking Required to Isntall the Hopkins Graduated RV Levels
The Hopkins Graduated RV Levels # HM08525 are about 1/2" thick and have mounting holes that are 5/16" in diameter. Since these can be mounting in a variety of locations just make sure that your screws are a bit longer than 1/2" are the correct material for your mounting surface. The tube that the bubble is in is actually sealed so there is no need to add caulk behind the unit for the installation. It wouldn't hurt anything but it isn't needed either.

  • Instructions On How To Install The Hopkins Graduated RV Levels, # HM08525
On the Hopkins Graduated RV Levels, # HM08525, the level C is for front-to-rear level and can be installed on either side of the vehicle. The level 3 is for side-to-side level and can be installed on front or rear of the vehicle. Read both levels (C and 3) and add the two numbers. The total is the number of inches required to raise the lowest corner of the vehicle. The smallest of the two numbers is the number of inches required to raise or lower at the other corner on the low side.

  • Recommended RV Leveler For Motorhome With Front Wheel Drive
When needing to level your motorhome, I recommend the Andersen Camper Leveler, part # AM3604. These provide leveling from 1/2 inch to 4 inches and have a weight capacity of 30,000 lbs. You simply pull onto or back onto the leveler, and when you reach your desired height slip the chock under the leveler to hold it in place. The leveler and chock are sold as a single set of one of each part. The contacts at Andersen have confirmed that only one leveler is needed per axle. I have attached...

  • Graduated Level That Can Stick-On Trailer
While we do have the stick-on graduated levels, each of them are in the 3 to 4 inch range like you mentioned and there aren't any that are larger. So the trade off of getting something like the 10 inch Camco AccuLevel Trailer Bubble Level # CAM25563 is that you would have to screw it in. I can definitely understand now wanting to screw something into the outside of your trailer, so the only option for a stick-on graduated level is the Hopkins Graduated RV Levels # HM08525, or the Hopkins...

  • Does Lippert Components High Speed Electric Stabilizer Trailer Jack # LC298707 Auto Level
The Lippert Components High Speed Electric Stabilizer Trailer Jack # LC298707 does not auto level. It has an extend and retract button but does not have an auto level function. The only system we have that will auto level is the Ground Control 3.0 part # LC358590 which comes with landing gear jacks as well. To help you level with the # LC298707 you might be interested in the part # HM08525 which is a set of stick-on levels that you can watch as you make adjustments.
