Powder coated steel is sturdy and corrosion resistant.Everything was here in the package all very strong quality and.pretty durable but I think you guys can improve your shipping methods because mine came in a thin box and it was partially opened with the hitch sticking out the hitch came out with some very deep scratches but as I said it is very durable maybe you guys should wrap the products in bubble wrap or put another box so that the items don’t get damaged but otherwise it is a very good hitch and it fits perfectly with my forester

One point - in the installation video at about 14:53, Ryan threads the bolt and spacer block on to the fish wire and feeds it through a passthrough into the hitch / vehicle frame. Unfortunately, neither of the spacer blocks fit into the passthrough. The spacer block was just a hair too big. It took us only a few minutes to figure out the workaround. We loosened the attachment bolts and fed the bolt & block assembly straight into the vehicle frame behind the hitch and it worked like a champ!
The cutting instructions for the rear bumper were spot-on and the installed hitch looks perfect!
Customer service was phenomenal prior to placing an order. While the shipping was fast, the box was significantly damaged. And the receiver was sticking out of the box, and it's already scratched through the enamel coating. So now I'll have to apply something to prevent corrosion. Not at all happy with how this arrived. You'd think they would prep these better, as there was barely any protection on the receiver portion of the hitch.

Oh my goodness! I will have our Customer Service team reach out to you. What I recommend touch be to touch up the hitch with a rust resistant paint like Rustoleum. It will help to prevent rust now and in the future.
I am very happy w this hitch. It was a great value and the video was very helpful and accurate. The cutout of the body trim turned out to be WAY large (see photo).
Good product, fit perfectly; however, there is a mistake in step 11 of the Curt instructions. STEP 11 states mark out two rectangles, one is 3 x 8.5 and the second is 2.5 x 1.5. The second rectangle should be 2.5 x 3 and is actually depicted as that measurement on the picture. Curt needs to change the second rectangle to 2.5 x 3 in the Step 11 narrative.
The box was destroyed during shipping and the hitch was sticking out of the box. It did scratch off some of the paint.
Installation wasn’t that difficult. Took less than two hours. I would recommend having a second set of hands when removing the bumper cover so it doesn’t get scratched. Followed the installation video and it was straight forward. I would’ve cut a little less of the bumper cover if I did it again and had it a little s’more snug on the look.
Great hitch. I love that most of it can be hidden. Looks awesome on mu 2023 subaru forester sport!
Product is well made and works great. The install video was incredibly helpful and detailed. If you have a bit of space and time it's a great way to save some money - would buy again.
This hitch receiver arrived in a badly damaged box and there were scuff marks so bad on several areas of the hitch that it was down to the bare metal. I called etrailer to express my concern about the damage and worry that it would rust. The customer service rep I spoke with was pretty apathetic & stated that if she sent me another one it could arrive even more damaged. She would only take $xx.xx off for me to go buy touch up paint to fix it myself. Really disappointed.

Hi Suzanna, Thanks for your feedback! The hitch can be scratched up during shipping due to the weight and handling of the shippers. Using a rust resistant spray paint on the bare metal areas will help prevent the hitch from prematurely rusting. I have attached a helpful article that goes into better detail.

Hitch has been great, was using it to tow a trailer with 100 gallon water tank and it worked great
pretty straight forward install. the video was easy to follow. I will buy from etrailer again!
Perfect fit and easy to install following the video on the product page. A little difficult getting the torque wrench in on top of the exhaust system. Don't pull on the wires when disconnecting the wires, release the lock and pry with a small screw driver.
Great product, great instructions (both video and written). No complaints!
Arrived very quickly
Fits very well. I recommend professional installation. I took the 2020 Subaru Forester to the local body shop. It took about three hours to install and reset sensors,etc.

You do not do your best to ship the order properly. You have had enough feedback that you should know to protect all metal parts. Wrap it up! And change the box to fit the product. Maybe even use Styrofoam and charge a little more.
Very easy installation thanks to the detailed video etrailer puts together for each of their products.
CAN NOT SAY MUCH, HAVE NOT USED IT YET.

This is a great hitch for the Subaru Forester (mine is 2020). Installation was fairly straight forward and so far so good!
Could have been boxed better half of the hitch was sticking out of the box when it arrived was a Christmas gift so I had to scramble to find a new box to wrap it up for Christmas
It was just installed, so haven't used it yet, but it is well hidden and appears well made.
