Perfect for light-duty towing, this custom, vehicle trailer hitch receiver features fully welded, gloss powder coated steel construction. Drawbar sold separately.The hitch fit perfect and took about 1/2 hour to install after watching the installation video. Dropping the one exhaust hanger is required, but a a little WD-40 makes is slide loose easily. Using ramps or a lift make this job simple. This hitch will be used for short distance towing of our pontoon boat and a bike rack.
I ordered a hitch for my 2020 Hyundai Tucson mainly to haul a bike rack. The product arrived fast and I was able to install it myself in my home garage with out any issues in less than 1 hour. I’m very happy with it.

Installation on my 2017 Tucson was a breeze. Perfect and great price!! Works great with my Curt 2 Bike Rack from e-trailer which is the reason I bought the hitch. Will make it a lot easier to carry the bike to and from the trails without getting mud all inside my Tucson.

A bit more difficult to install on my 2016 Hyundai Tucson than I was expecting, but that was only due to the fact I've never done it before. Once I removed the rubber exhaust hanger it went right into place. All holes lined up perfectly and it was a snug fit onto the frame. Shipping was only 3 days!!
It came so fast it made my head spin! Only took about :30 minutes to install BECAUSE it fit like a glove. After installation I stepped back and could hardly see it... almost hurt my feelings. Small and out of the way, just pulling a small trailer for my kayaks
Perfect fit for my car. Installed by my mechanic, because it required loosening the muffler. Mechanic stated that was one of the easiest installations he had completed.
Just installed this hitch and it’s very inconspicuous which is great. Now I’m ready for cycling season. I’m happy with this hitch it was about 30 minutes to install after watching the install video. I did take the muffler mount loose which made it easier. My mom helped me hold it in place so I could get the first bolts in. It was not difficult.

Very pleased with the construction of the hitch. The challenge for a 2017 Hyundai Tuscon Sport is being able to drop the exhaust pipe. I ended up cutting the upper hanger stop off, in order to slip the rubber hanger off. The wiring was more of a challenge. By removing a couple of the interior driver side screws, you can pop the plastic molding off to gain access behind the trunk molding. The steel bed is too strong for the screw in the kit, so I bolted the grounding wire to the vertical rear of the trunk. I also ended up freeing the driver side light wiring and running it down to meet up with the connector, which I ran up through the frame, then threaded the 2nd wiring connector out thru the lighting connection.
The Curt hitch was flawless, all the parts were there and perfect. The bolts fit as advertised. The hitch fit as advertised. Buying from etrailer saved me 150 dollars for the hitch and installation.
The best part of this transaction was the instructional video that etrailer posted. The video was step by step exactly what what needed to be done to install. The only thing I would add is that in less you have a lift like in the video, it helps to jack the vehicle up a little and you may have to remove the muffler holder to get the passenger side portion of the hitch in place. But still that only added less than 5 minutes to the installation. One person, 30 minutes.

product is still great, still looks new, great paint job. Looks like it was installed yesterday not a year ago.
The customer service was excellent. The order arrived in two days with all the hardware needed with easy complete instructions. When I need a new trailer hitch I will be ordering from you again. This was my third one.

The hitch has performed all functions as expected. The stabilizing strap suggested by the manufacturer would not work for my 2017 Hyundai Tucson. There is no place to connect it to the vehicle. I have made several long distance trips with two different bike carriers with no issues. I am very reluctant to give five stars for fear of being labeled as a bot or worse, a fluff reviewer. Only the stabilizing strap issue has rendered this a four star review.
This is the second hitch I have purchased from this vendor and I would not hesitate to purchase another for a new vehicle if I have money left from that purchase. The installation videos are GREAT!
Product appears to be of excellent quality and the installation was easy with the provided instructions. Fit and finish were perfect, looks like it will last for many years even with heavy use.

Hitch has been put to use many times and I have not encountered any problems. There are no visible signs of rush or unusual weather and tear. Very pleased with the product
The hitch receiver fit perfectly on my 2019 Tucson. No adjustments were required. I installed it from the ground easily, but jacked one side of the car up and had to drop the exhaust from the rear-most hanger (only) to be able to slide receiver in. Car came with the holes, and the holes in receiver lined up perfectly, and it was simple to just bolt in. You remove the panels blocking the holes, as described in the installation video. But they are easy to pop off and put back on.
As of this moment I have not used the hitch yet (still finishing the install of the T-wiring harness (it was almost 100 degrees here yesterday).
Hitch was a perfect fit for my 2016 Hyundai Tucson. Instructions were easy to follow, it was snug getting past the exhaust pipe, but not difficult. I didn't even have to take off the exhaust hanger, it just slid into place. Total install time was around 30 minutes. Would have been faster, but I am working on the ground under the car not on a lift.
I plan to use this to pull a small covered trailer for luggage this summer as we make a family trip in this small SUV with 2 adults, 2 teens and 2 dogs. Definitely needed some room for luggage. This hitch fit great and the only part that shows is the square hangar for the hitch ball.
Very happy with my purchase and am sure I will get lots of use out of it!
This is my second hitch using the Curt brand and I'm sure it will perform just like the one I had before. The clean design and industrial construction sells itself. Curt is a brand you can trust to work. I said that.
My Installation: Evidently, the 2017 Tuscon Sport Limited model has a slightly larger muffler than what I was expecting. I had to use a cut block of wood to prop the muffler down and away enough to install it at the only possible angle that would work. I was using ramps, so it was slightly more complicated than if I had an overhead lift. It went in, and is bolted down, we'll see how well it performs. I'm sure the bike rack or light trailer isn't going to test it's limits enough to provide serious feedback.
I'm not an auto worker and don't really like to get down and get dirty working on cars. However, this auto is almost new and was CLEAN on the underside.
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver arrived as scheduled. With the video instructions being spot on it was a breeze installing the Hitch. The job took me about 45 minutes to complete.
Then came the wiring harness. The video was also a great aid with the installation. Eliminating some mistakes and having to re-do some steps, this install took about 90 minutes to complete.
What I had learned here is to go slow, make sure you're following the instructions exactly as sequenced and it's a breeze. having a lift would have helped a lot but I had a couple leveling blocks from my motorhome that I drove the car up onto and that gave me enough space to get the job done.

My wife and I wanted a smaller trailer hitch so that we could bring our bikes with us on camping trips. The 1 1/4 “ Curt trailer hitch I purchased is reasonably priced, good quality, and works perfectly for our needs. Installation instructions were clear and easy to follow. One note: our Tucsons exhaust has dual tailpipes, and I did have to detach it from the hanger at one point to get the passenger side of the hitch over it. No worries. We are very happy with it. Thank you.
Only issue I had was I had to dismount the muffler from the hanger on passenger side to get more access to chassis of vehicle. After that it was a breeze. Great fit. Great looks.

Awesome
This us an excellent product but was a bear to install due to dual tailpipes on one side. Had to lower the muffler--no easy task and the hitch is so heavy (which is a good thing--really solid), it took 2 of us to hold up each end. We had a lengthy discussion with the sales rep before buying, and she did her very best to research how it would go, but neither the product instructions nor video gave us the muffler details we needed. Great product, but not easy on this particular 2018 Hyundai Tucson.
