This site is such a blessing! Had EVERYTHING I needed. Bought the receiver and wiring harness! And both products are wonderful! Perfect fit and exactly made for my pontiac. The instructional videos they have on YouTube are easy to do and priceless!! Now I can haul our motorcycles without any issues! My son and I are having a blast this summer!!

First time ordering from Etrailer. I had never heard of the company so I asked my daughters boyfriend, who is a mechanic. He said excellent company and he uses them for his customers.

This trailer hitch fit perfectly in my 2016 Equinox LT. It took 45 minutes for me to install it cause I used my daughters boyfriends lift. I tried lying on the ground on my back and lifting it in place but it was too heavy. If you go that route have someone help.
I even trimmed the plastic pop out cover to finish off the installation. Great product. Great company. Great price. Fast free shipping. Thank you.

Great hitch! Was easy to install. Would purchase again.

Carrieann was great helping me with my purchase. They are the reason Etrailer is great. The hitch and hitch rattle silenser I was able to install by myself with no trouble at all. It was a perfect fit. I would not buy from anyone but Etrailer, A very satisfied customer, Richard

Its working out great. I installed it by myself with no problem using the help of my hydraulic jack.

by:

It would have been a five if I would have received the right hardware. The bolts I got were not the right ones for my car. Once I got the right bolts and ran them through the rust and crap it went on super easy. The Hitch was perfect except the hardware problem.

2005 Saturn Vue

This hitch installed "without a hitch" - except I wish there was some magic rust remover for the frame nuts. That was the only difficult part. The parts fit exactly, and even though I anticipated a tough time fishing the center bolts through the bumper frame that was the easiest part! They came right through and dropped right into place. It looks like it was installed at the factory and I'm very happy with the product.

2013 Chevrolet Equinox

I really like this hitch. It was easy to install and has a nice finish. The instructions with my hitch as well as the etrailer video didn't indicate that my 2012 equinox may not have the two center weld nuts sense it didn't already have a factory hitch installed. I was a little confused at first but called etrailer and had an answer in minutes. Be sure to watch the video for the 2013 equinox if your 2012 doesn't have the center weld nuts. Etrailer has great customer service! I ordered it on a Monday night and had it by Thursday. What more can you ask for?

I also used the Curt wiring harness and I modified a Curt rubber tube cover to hold the harness. This gave everything a very clean, finished look.

by:
2004 Saturn Vue

The hitch arrived in good shape and on time. My 2004 Vue had very rusted frame nuts, so preparing them took patience and Rust blaster. I bought a tap as recommended for the do it yourselfer, but I made a superior thread cleaner from the included M12 bolt.
I first threaded a nut all the way on the shank, then cut a vertical slot 1/2 inch long in the threaded end. I ground the slot end at a slight angle to help it grab.I then backed the nut all of the way off to smooth the cut threads. Because of the close quarters on the frame, the hex headed tool allowed me to use my 19mm ratcheting box wrench to clean the threads.
The fishwire worked great!
All in all a doable project- clear instructions, correct hardware, and good fit!

by:
2016 GMC Terrain

The hitch is great, very well made. Installation was easy only had one problem with the last bolt on the drivers side, this might have been that the spacing of the threaded holes in the car frame might have been a little off. Fishing the carriage bolts went very easy with the supplied wire, no drilling required. I placed the hitch on a floor jack, rolled it into place, raised it, and it made it very easy to align to the center 2 carriage bolts and hold into place while I installed the nuts. The hardest part was torquing the bolts and nuts, wish I had a lift. This will be perfect for our bike rack and I really like the fact that you don't see anything but the center receiver. Great job Etrailer and Curt.

Etrailer could use a better packing box and some foam over the ends. Mine came with the ends sticking out of the box and were a little scratched.

This product is excellent in all ways.. shipped promptly and arrived ahead of schedule.
Install video was great and made it easy to do.
Product itself is high quality and especially the powder coat finish.
Good quality hardware and the wire tool to install it.
Cant say anything negative about the product or company.
I made a template out of cardboard and transferred cut out to the original cover then trimmed the plastic cover, installed it around the receiver hitch to clean up the rear valance.

2013 Ford Edge

Needed a trailer hitch for my bikes after trading in car that had hitch. Had option of 13 edge or 07 torrent which, had easier install rating and instructions. As warned in the 07 the holes had quite a bit of rust but the hitch installed easily and only would strongly recommend you have a 19MM socket for your ratchet.

by:

Product fitment and ease of installation was perfect. The reciever hitch showed up in excellent condition and took me about 20 minutes to install. The instructions and videos on etrailer.com provided all the info I needed to install this product. Definitely heed thier advice about cleaning out the factory weld nuts. That was the only issue I had but it was quickly resolved with a nylon 3/4 inch bottle brush.

2012 GMC Terrain

The product is a perfect fit for my 2012 GMC Terrain. The 2" looks so much better than that rinky dink 1 1/4 hitch from the factory (WHY GM?). I replaced the 1 1/4" because I was getting tired of putting 2 - 3 attachments on the hitch extending it out 2-3 feet when connecting a trailer.

This hitch is beefier than the factory hitch for sure. I had to use zip-ties to attach the wiring harness. It took me about 30-40 minutes.

I definitely recommend this product for your vehicle. Shipping was FAST. I ordered on a Friday afternoon and it arrived Tuesday the following week.

by:

Package was received with some damage but the hitch was not damaged. Installation went great once I cleaned out the weld nuts from 15 years of Minnesota dirt and salt. End result looks and works great.

Saturn Vue

I needed the trailer hitch for my bike rack. After I finished the installation I put the bike rack in the hitch and it work perfectly.

First, I would like to thank Rebecca N for her response to my question, which was "My car didn't have weld bolt for the top two center bolts, what can I do?". Rebecca N suggested that I use the same method to place the two center bolts as the Saturn Vue. I watched the installation video for the Vue, followed the instructions and it worked great.

I received the hitch late yesterday. Per the Vue video, I had to fish the top two bolts and spacers through the end of the bumper support so I did that last night. One of the spacers turned which caused it to hang up inside of the bumper support. I took a clothes hanger and bent it to made a 1 inch flat tip then pushed on the spacer until it worked free. The spacer and bolt moved right in place.

This morning I finished the installation and there was no one to assist. I used a vehicle jack on a rolling platform to manuver the hitch into place then jacked it up to allow me to put the nut on the top carriage bolts, then I fastened the bolts on the driver's side into the weld nuts attached to the vehicle.

There was a slight bind on the passenger's side so I pulled the jack over and jacked up the hitch and with just a little effort the hitch popped in place.

2015 Chevrolet Equinox

Just recieved my hitch with fairly quick free delivery. Install by a completely inexperienced person, who only watched the video posted on the site, took only about 30 min. And mostly that because how blistering hot is was outside with no cover. Literally if you can turn a wrench you can instal this hitch. I'm very pleased with both the product and the price.

The only thing I would note is that it was a pretty tight fit on a 2015 Chevy Equinox and I had to use a rubber mallet to line the holes up a little bit. ... And really that was my only issue.

by:
2012 Chevrolet Equinox

Hitch looks great and fits perfect on my 2012 Equinox. I was hung up a bit during the install: The way I perceived the Curt instructions that came with the hitch demonstrated the bolts going up through the hitch and in to the bumper bar (see picture). On this Equinox, The bolts, with the square spacers, need to drop down from the bumper bar, and the nut placed from below. Knowing this ahead of time would be a good time saver.

by:
2013 GMC Terrain

Excellent communication from etrailer staff. Product shipped immediately, as was installed quickly. Video instructions are excellent. The hitch was likely dropped during shipment, as it was delivered with two holes in the box with the outer flanges sticking out. There was minimal damage to the finish, but it would be nice to see more padding around the ends of the hitch. A tighter box may have helped as well.

by:

I read previous reviews and thought it would fit on my vehicle. I was WRONG! I had to mount it with 2 of the 6 bolts it came with. The hitch did not align with the side bolt holes on the vehicle. 2012 Chevy Equinox 2.4L I chose to keep the hitch because I am only using it for my bike but I do plan on replacing it sometime in the future. I purchased one from Amazon that fit perfect but the bolts were 12M while the vehicle requires 10M. Total waste of money and time

by:

The Receiver hitch looks well made and It appears all the parts are here. But, the packaging didn't do so well. If not for the assembly kit being taped extremely well directly to the hitch it most likely would have been lost. I will mount the hitch in a few days and will update this if any problems arise.

by:

Priced this unit locally and saved $xxx on price and installation. Video was very helpful. Used floor jack and extra pair of hands to hold hitch in place for install. Took about 45 minutes using a ratchet but faster if you can use an impact gun. Like that the actual hitch is hidden. Liked that the fish wire was included.

The wiring for the 2011 Chevrolet Equinox, part # 118494, is a custom fit and there should be no need to reprogram the vehicle computer. Reprogramming would also not be necessary after the trailer hitch installation. The wiring harness simply plugs in behind both tail lights, and because the wiring draws its power from the vehicle battery, the vehicle circuits are protected from back feed or overload. In the event of an overload, the black converter box actually turns itself off to stop...

I do not recommend using a trunk mounted bike rack on your 2005 Chevrolet Equinox if it has a rear spoiler. The upper straps of the bike rack must attach to the top edge of your rear hatch and the only way to do that is to go over your spoiler. Spoilers are not designed to support the weight of a bike rack or bikes and it is likely that the spoiler will bend and break. Instead, I recommend using a hitch mounted bike rack like the Thule Doubletrack Pro XT Bike Rack, # TH92BJ. This bike...
