Hitch Recommendation for a 2010 Chevy Equinox Carrying a GearDeck 17 # H00604
Question:
Will it work on a 2010 Chevy Equinox? If so, what size hitch would you recommend installing?

Expert Reply:
I would recommend you get a Class III hitch with a 2-inch opening for your 2010 Chevy Equinox. For that I would recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 13591. The hitches with the 2-inch openings will have higher towing capacities and have more hitch accessories designed to fit them.
This hitch would work well with the GearDeck 17 Enclosed Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Slide Out - 17 cu ft - Black # H00604 that you referenced. You will want to check the towing capacities for your vehicle listed in your owner's manual, for the hitch and the # H00604 and be sure not to exceed the capacity of the lowest rated component.
When determining the overall capacity of a setup you must always go with the lowest rated component as the overall capacity.
