Hello, everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this eight foot long, five inch wide continuous steel hinge. Now, this hinge will provide nice sturdy, continuous support for your agricultural or construction application. It is a continuous piano hinge design. I wanna zoom in and show you what we're talking about. If you noticed here, this offer more support than smaller individual hinges, and it reduces the stress on heavier doors.
The design of it, inside these knuckles right here, they have a 3/8 inch diameter pin that runs the full length of the hinge, so it gives it full support. And it'll offer 270 degree rotation for full opening and closing motion. Now, this is a weld-on or bolt-on installation. Now, a bolt-on installation, if you noticed, there are no holes, so you would have to drill holes into the hinge to bolt it on. It is a 16-gauge steel construction, which is very durable and long lasting.
The part is made in the USA. Dimensions, again, we said the overall length, end to end, is eight feet. The width when it's out or it's opened all the way, 180 degrees, the width will measure five inches. And each side of the foldable hinge you can see will measure about 2 3/16 inches wide. The individual knuckle length, in other words, each one of these is called a knuckle.
So you can see, if I put a ruler on it, it's about two inches. And we mentioned the pin diameter on the inside of the knuckles is 3/8 of an inch diameter. But that should do it for the review on this eight foot long by five inch wide continuous steel hinge.

This hinge was just what I was looking for to replace the OEM hinge on my toy hauler ramp door. The only non performance part was the freight being slower than normal because of Covid 19. The freight companies did not do any damage to the hinge so all is good. etrailer is a great on-line parts supplier.

This is a continuous hinge that measures 7' (84") long, and is 3"wide. Consequently, we also carry the: -5" Wide Continuous Hinge # PLR844, which has the 96" length you need, however this hinge is 2" wider at 5".

The only way to know for sure if the # PLR844 will be strong enough is to install it, as hinges are not tested for specific loads due to quite a few...
