Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this 72 inch long by 1 1/2 inch wide aluminum piano hinge. Now, this hinge will provide sturdy, continuous support along the length of your cabinet, your door, or your panel. It is great for oversized doors, trailer doors, and entrance doors. And it'll provide more support than multiple small hinges.
It is a nice continuous design to reduce stress on the hinge when used with heavier doors. And just to zoom in to show you a close up of it, this hinge will rotate about 270 degrees for a nice full opening and closing motion. You can see it'll rotate back about 90 degrees. And then if we go the other way, it'll go about 180 degrees. So, it gives you a full 270 degree rotation.
This is made of a durable lightweight aluminum construction. Has a nice mill finish on it to resist corrosion. This is a weld-on or bolt-on installation. Now, to bolt it on, it will require drilling holes into the hinge. And this hinge can be cut for the specific size you need for your application.
This part is made in the USA. Few specs on this, we'll give you the overall length. So, if we take our tape measure, and if we go from one end, all the way to the other end, it's right at 72 inches or six feet in length. The open width, other words, the position it's in now. It's open width will be, gonna be right at 1 1/2 inches.
The knuckle length, each one of these little sections here is a knuckle, so the length on that is gonna be right at a half an inch. And the pin diameter, in other words, the solid pin that goes through these knuckles to hold the two pieces together, the diameter on that pin is 1/8 of an inch. Very impressed with the quality this hinge. I had to repair my FlipBak tonneau cover. This hinge will provide superior security over the original piece of rubber that those tonneau covers use as a hinge.

3 stars, due to packaging. Ordered 3 inch by 72 inch piano hinge. Packaging tube arrived without hinge, cap on end was missing.Went to post office to see if they seen it and they did. Brought it home and is in working condition.

used cobalt drill bit drilled 4 holes in hinge on corners with paper to keep door space for future paint ,drilled holes in hinge only just touch wood ,undid 4 screws ,recessed wood with bur thing ,punched stainless hinge into wood, screwed in screws near flush ,very clean super price and strong ,thank you
